Tsubomi's heart sank seeing Ramza do this. This was what Kalki had in mind - die by their hands and take over one of them. Or maybe this was all Ramza's doing. It was too easy to blame Kalki for this - Ramza was always the good guy of the bunch, the one who espoused the idea of non-violence. Years of fighting would certainly take their toll on that sort of resolve, especially with what they've learned.
