The one place where Kaji thought they would get a clear respite is the worst sight so far. What used to be the Shumi Village has been utterly destroyed. There are the bodies of Shumi mixed in with others, humans, people not necessarily native to Mysidia. Whatever happened, even the Shumi must have had to open their doors to outsiders to try to survive. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have worked.

It's here that Kaji finally gestures for them to stop for a while, let Levy recharge if she needs it (he has to admit that he doesn't know how the Solid Script magic works). As morbid as it sounds, this might be a place where they can scavenge for food, at least, and other supplies, if they're lucky.
