After that little announcement from Jessie earlier today, Sparks had been pretty irritable. His moogle, Red, actually felt a little bad for him for a change - and maybe she wanted to make up for the fact that she left for a few days on strike along with Sparks's hat - so she left to go pick up a delivery from Mognet Central that came in for him. Seems like his regain has come in, and even she wasn't aware what she was picking up.
Later in the day today, out and about in the 14th district, a moogle in a red vest can be see gently leading what appears to be a bionic horse through the streets. They're getting a lot of strange looks and whispers from the locals as they pass through, and the horse seems pretty confused and nervous about his surroundings. Eventually they reach Sparks's house, and Red leaves the horse at the stoop, knocks on the door and flies out of eyesight. The marshal's awfully surprised when he opens up the door.
"Mercury. I'll be darned. She actually managed it. I just about gave up on ya comin' here. Ya sure took your time." He pauses for a moment as an idea hits him. "Guess you won't be able to talk on this planet. Wow, what a darn shame."
A little later, Sparks is outside doing his best to set up some sort of shelter for the creature. Mercury can't stay inside his tiny house, after all. He doesn't have much to work with, unfortunately, but he's trying to make do with what he's found around the house. It's not really working out, though, and he's looking pretty put out.
B:
Earlier in the day, though, Sparks is at the library. He's popped in a few times now since he's arrived, but today he's there to look up any past reports or stories of people getting turned into crystals. After all, there were Heroes of Light in the past, so it's possible this happened to the previous ones too. And if it's happened before, there could be a way to stop or reverse it. The marshal can be found sitting at a table, surrounded by books and periodicals, hoping to find something to fix this situation.
