"I believe that prophecies are handed to the people by beings with fully discernible motives," Ashelia began. This was a topic she was quite passionate about, having been the chosen saint of the so-called gods of Ivalice. "Prophecies should never be taken at face value. Who issued it, and why? What does the being responsible have to gain from the prophecy's fulfillment? Why the need for chosen warriors? Are the gods incapable of fighting their own battles? Why?

"Earlier, there was a play in the Ninth District outlining the legend of the Heroes of Light as it is known in Crystallis today. Apparently, two thousand years have passed since the Warrior's sacrifice, and we are being made to believe that this Calamity once again threatens Crystallis - why else have the Heroes of Light been called once more? Could it be that one of our number is to make that ultimate sacrifice?" Ashelia paused, trying to gauge Zelda's reaction.
