Her reaction made him realize that there was no need for alarm. He shook his head with a bemused chuckle. "It's nothing to be concerned about."

It was the only thing he could do to save his sanity and from having to explain a series of events that may paint him a monster. He was trying to get away from that and thankfully she gave him that window.
