It was not so clear and rosy for Sephiroth. To be hailed as a 'Hero of Light' wasn't so farfetched after all, he'd spent the majority of his young adulthood being dubbed a hero even before the end of the Wutai war had been in sights. It was completely possible that whatever figment of his imagination he was caught in, it was playing on this detail somewhere in his subconscious.
Still, Sephiroth's head was turned up at the fireworks much like everyone else's, only pausing to blink dots from darting across his vision and to take stock of those in his direct vicinity every so often. Between that and keeping an eye on his moogle, Sephiroth wasn't expecting anyone to approach him. He hardly gave off that aura that might draw others in to spending time with him.
"A welcoming? Seems more to me like the last night of a Festival." Which was exactly what it was - Sephiroth wasn't buying any of the hype about so-called 'legends'.
