Lydia giggled, but wasn't going to make fun of her. Everyone had their guilty pleasures. "What kind? The term 'romance' has a few different meanings, at least according to my English teacher. Most people seem to think it means love story with very little plot, and potentially racy scenes between the lovers. At least where I'm from."
Lydia preferred the other kind, where they were adventure-esque, and had heroes and love as part of the over all thing, rather than the focus. They were stories driven by characters, facing odds and working together. Bonus points if they were gothic romance.
