She had done it before, when she worked in the Order of Lorelei. A commander couldn't stop and weep every time she lost someone.
But she wasn't a soldier anymore -- not even though she had returned to fighting here in Crystallis. Their war needed soldiers, that was true, but it also needed the ones who stopped to care for each and every Hero and grieved for every casualty, no matter how high the number grew.
