[In combat it was just as important to read your opponent as it was to know how to deal with the attack itself when it came and for anyone wielding the Gambler job you had to pay even more attention. A perfect poker face often could lead to an attack being misread and -depending on the card- could make for fatal consequences.

Sephiroth had no intention on letting his guard down; it would be foolish to lose out in a spar now, and be killed when claiming his own legacy were creeping ever closer.

Masamune swept across the path that the card took and at the last possible moment Sephiroth dodged, quicker than the eye could follow, to one side. He followed with a counter this time though, dashing in closer and ducking down to attempt a low leg sweep at Yugi's shins. He could have followed with a slash too -his sword was perfectly positioned for it- yet Sephiroth held that urge back.]
