"Straight-forward and easy to remember." Asbel couldn't help but smile at the bird's name. It looked like he wasn't the only one with questionable original tastes in names, although he had to admit at least Fai's made sense. (After all, what else would you name a chocobo?)

"I've wondered about that. Back home I traveled with some friends, and we all had different fighting styles, you know? I never had the patience to learn to fight with a ranged weapon or cast spells back then, but a change couldn't hurt."

He was definitely getting off-topic, though. Asbel switched the sword back to his right hand, looking up at Fai.

"Anyway. How should we do this? If you wanted to practice your archery, I suppose I could stand in as a moving target? It'd be good as an evasion drill, too."

As long as it wasn't an instructor barking out a quick flurry of commands, he was up to pretty much anything.
