Well, we have those too... they're called lacrima, but they're more for storing magical energy or permanently enchanting an item with a spell you want to use over and over. There are items that use magical energy to function too, like you said. But as for magic itself, it's just part of the natural world. It's as natural in Earthland as sunlight or water.
