One sure sign that something was wrong; the tasks that Sephiroth usually made sure he did each day had petered out into non-existence as his condition had worsened. Apart from the obvious deterioration with his training regimen as energy just waned away, the twice-a-day showers had turned into a long bath in the evenings before breaking down into long drawn out toilet breaks and washes when he'd still been able to haul his great aching body from the bed. It was the longest he'd ever been not washing his hair.

There had come a point around one or two days ago when he'd retreated to his room, closed the door and not set a foot out since. There wasn't much of a sign of Spencer other than fetching water, soup and occasionally a damp cloth with small bowl to take up to the room. The moogle struggled with his one paw in a small sling but avoided Yuffie's interaction as well, he didn't want her to see how worried he was for the man the young girl hated so badly.

It was obvious that it was a sick room as soon as the door were creaked open. The curtains were drawn but for a small gap of daylight that peeked through and struck across the middle of the bed, distorted around the tall frame that was bundled all up inside.

Despite the glowing green orbs that penetrated the gloom as if they were made of materia themselves, Spencer was the first sign of movement as Yuffie entered. Despite his injury, the small moogle had taken up sentinel sat at the bottom of the bed with his back against the footboard. As if stirred further by his moogle moving, there was a deep grunt of a noise from Sephiroth himself as he pushed shoulders up more against the pillows. Every inch of his skin was shining with the sickness that would eventually take his life.

"Hey..." He mirrored Yuffie, the smooth deep tones that defined his voice sounded as if they'd been rubbed with course sandpaper entirely the right way. Indeed, the previous night had been the worst so far for his coughing.
