In the aftermath of Flame Tongue, Sephiroth just about -thanks to the Haste- manages to not use the melting foot as a spring board that time; he doesn't need to take the risk in getting stuck to the molten mess. As a result of the last-minute adjustment to his tactic though, Sephiroth's landing could have been better timed than it was.

Even though the King's foot movement is sluggish, the attempt to kick at him is the next immediate problem. Even if it's slow, it's still a large foot to come swinging at you. Taking a breath and holding it Sephiroth has to launch himself drastically to the side, having just gotten his balance back, the over large foot catches the lower part of one of his legs and the next thing he knows he's skidding to a halt not too far from the intended wall. Leather saves him from scraping too much across the concrete on the way and bruises can be nursed once this is all over; no matter how it feels, from the pounding to one side of his jaw, like his face might have connected with the floor at least once. After a moments pause he pushes himself back up to his feet, at least the King is being distracted by other things now.

"I'll be fine, Jade!" He calls back but isn't too sure which direction he's been turned around in now. It turns out Sephiroth is now out of line-of-sight from the alleyway they'd all been crouched in. "Keep pressing. I'm going to get a better look at this mess."

In the meantime, it's imperative to see how the overall battlefield is looking. Sephiroth sheathes his sword and heads off around the back of where the Moogle has already trampled through.
