[Closed to Sephiroth] Aftermath

From his position on a three-storey rooftop, the explosion from the continued crossing of their streams jerked Sephiroth's hand enough to break the contact he had with the others. The particle thrower was thrown away from him, halted only as the lead from it to his photon pack stopped the momentum and then it clattered to the floor as the silver haired warrior brought his arm up to shield his eyes from the light - watching expectantly as still it didn't seem to destroy King Marshmallow-Mog.

The resultant explosion knocked him back and from the strong posture he'd maintained, skidding when he landed and stunned momentarily as the side of his head exploded in stars behind crunched-shut eyes. A glancing blow to the brickwork ledge around the perimeter of the roof as he'd landed but more than enough to cause consciousness to swim for a moment. He stared at the sky above as all sound seemed distant and drowned out by the loud, wet pulsing of a slight concussion which had drawn a little blood from his temple.

He remained aware enough to register the large monster exploding in the night sky and the long moments of utter silence afterwards in the aftermath. Concentrating on long, deep breaths to pull back his awareness back into himself. It was several more moments before Sephiroth crawled onto his front and pushed up to knees, then finally back onto his feet as he retrieved the particle thrower from nearby; it was noticeably scuffed but not broken.

Sephiroth had barely landed himself, heavily, down from the building onto the street before he thought --perhaps he might have thought it an illusion-- that he spotted a flash of pale green rushing towards him.

Terra-

She staggered and he moved. Just the two steps that were needed to catch her, almost falling to a knee in the process but managing somehow to hold his balance as she caught herself and essentially fell into his arms. Both strong arms hooked under and around her automatically as she pressed her face against the front of the light vest he had on underneath his leather coat. He might have been imagining it as well, but he thought he heard a sniffle of a noise rise up from within her delicate frame. To him, she felt cold and that was all the more reason for his arms to stay where they were and for her to get warm again.

As if his pounding head needed further support, he inclined the side of his face down against the top of her head. Sephiroth didn't even know if he was bleeding from that side still, or if it were the unforgiving sweat of battle that mingled with her minty curls. Minutes passed, enough for his pulse to begin to slow down, for the chaos to settle a little more, but on account of his clouded awareness it could well have been hours before he seemed to come to.

Sephiroth loosened his grip around Terra and lifted his head from hers, but wouldn't move her face where it were pillowed against his chest unless she looked to meet his gaze.

"What were you-" What had she been doing out in the streets, when he remembered then giving her explicit instructions to stay put? Somehow the displeasure that should be in his tone just simply wasn't there; Sephiroth felt overwhelmed by the fact that she'd found him, and that she was alright.

"-what happened?" And more importantly- "Are you OK?"
