BLITZBALL!
Characters: auYUNA and YOU!
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: June 15th - June 29th
Summary: Blitzball! ~ Feel free to run into Yuna during all and anything. These are just general things if you wish to run into her.
Warning: Maybe be profanity and swearing because…fans. Nothing crazy or bad!
Player Meetings
Yuna was excited to meet players that she hadn’t had the chance to greet before. She’s been on the team for a couple of months now and she still hadn’t met all the players on the other teams. She had met a few in passing but it was nothing like this.
Celes was excited. He was using this chance to get his Blitzball signed by all his favorite star athletes. Yuna followed him with a wide grin, greeting the players while Celes gushed about how great they were.
After they finished going around Celes turned to Yuna. His cheeks were flushed a slight hint of red as he held out his prized Blitzball towards Yuna. “Will you sign it too?” He couldn’t say it but Celes was Yuna’s biggest fan.
Souvenir’s, Food and Drink
Yuna was staying away from the Vuvuzela’s though that didn’t mean she didn’t hear them. Luckily sound traveled differently in water so during the match all the cheering became a dull clamor in the back ground of the playing sphere.
She finally got a break and she decided to take a look at the shops and the stands. There was so much to see. She wanted to get an Aqures Chocobo shirt but she couldn’t wear it during the match and she already had Aqures Chocobo pajama’s thanks to Celes. She smiled at the stands deciding to get something light eat for now. She’d have to get back soon anyway but it was nice to absorb the excitement from those who loved Blitzball as much as she did.

"My, my. I would object, but something tells me you're not giving me any choice in this matter." Crystallis had no shortage of headstrong ladies, that was for certain. For someone so used to the public eye, Yuna didn't seem worried about potential gossip from the masses of Blitzball fans still around the stadium.
Or perhaps that was exactly why she didn't care. You probably learned to ignore rumors sooner or later when you were a celebrity.
no subject
"Nope." She smiled with a wide grin and then guided him forward. Gossip wasn't on the forefront of her thought but it was bound to caught up with her one of these days. Until then she was going to smile and play it by ear.
"I know a place that's far enough from the stadium. It shouldn't be to crowded." Of course Yuna can't walk into any bar and not be known by someone. She smiled up at Jade as they walked. "How has work been? Your always so busy. I wonder what you're up too."
no subject
"Things are getting serious with the Empire's increased activity lately. It's the waiting that's putting the troops on edge." No one liked to say as much openly, but judging by the tense atmosphere it had seemed everyone in the barracks was in on the unspoken agreement that something big was coming.
no subject
"Waiting is hard but there is no telling how this will end."
She looked up at Jade with a wide smile. "If we do our best." She wasn't sure if she was going to stay and fight or if she would leave with the airship and continue working on it. They had time and she might go work on the airship only to return last minute to lend a hand.
She was used to fight.
Yuna's pace slowed as she neared the front of the bar she had in mind. They were a fair distance from the stadium so this bar, while full, wasn't as active or rowdy as the others. When Yuna stepped inside a few people were cheering and most in the bar where already drunk. She managed to find two stools open by the bar and so she pulled Jade into one of them.

Jade regarded the possibility of war and the steady crystallization of the planet the same way he did most things -- they were problems to be solved, with efficient planning and execution. Until the situation became more clear, he'd continue working as usual. Getting anxious over worst case scenarios was a waste of time and energy.
He followed Yuna inside the bar, taking brief note of the clientele before he was dragged towards a stool. Just as well -- the hand-holding was starting to get awkward.
"I haven't been here in quite a while. Now," Jade sat down and waved the barkeep over. "I believe it's my turn to buy, is it not?"
no subject
“You don’t mind do you?”
Her mismatched gaze glanced around the room and she waved at those she made eye contact with. After the cheers and excitement of the arena the crowded hum of the tavern was nice. It wasn’t so loud though Yuna was sure she saw more than a few people pointing at her just as she turned away.
Not that it really bothered her.

And as he had thought, the barkeep brightened upon recognizing his patrons and heartily offered the upcoming Blitzball star and her companion free drinks on the house, saving Jade the effort and money. Just as planned.
"It pays to be recognized on the street, doesn't it?"
no subject
"Isn't it cheating if you don't really pay for it?" She wasn't to keen on accepting the bartenders gesture but before she could say anything he was off to serving other customers. She didn't want to bring it up later and the free drink did make her feel honored.
Yuna hums softly looking between her drink and Jade. He was most definitely using her current popularity.
no subject
"If you want me to spend my hard-earned money so badly, we should have drinks in Esdham next time. They're not quite so generous with special treatment."
Jade's sip of his drink was more reserved. With work coming up, he couldn't go overboard.
no subject
Yuna didn't really have to worry about how much she drank tonight. Her next game was about a week away and one night having fun wouldn't really impede her performance. She took a long sip and then rested her chin in her hands. She was smiling a little to much as she looked over at Jade. She honestly had believed that he'd stay but she was glad he did.
"Oh! I meant to ask you. You know Guy right? He's on the team with me." Though in the reserves so he didn't get to play in the games just yet.
no subject
"Yes, we were traveling companions for quite a while." And by traveling companions he meant comrades in saving the world. "I hope he hasn't been too much trouble for you. You wouldn't know it from looking at him, but Guy can be a little... devious."
Yes, of all the people in their party, Jade was calling Guy devious. With a perfectly straight face, no less.
no subject
"You guys must have been close then." She can tell.
Her smile stayed wide as she glanced around the bar. People were still cheering and they were getting more than a few looks from other patrons. Yuna lifted her glass putting the cool rim to her lips before she spoke again.
"I wonder how he'd describe you?"
no subject
Jade didn't pay much mind to the looks they were attracting. He had always been subject to glances and whispers in Malkuth too, though at least no one here was spreading any undead-related rumors about him. He sipped his drink, raising an eyebrow at Yuna's question.
"I would like to believe he'd give thorough accounts of my vast intellect and skills. Not to mention my good looks."
no subject
“If that’s true…” She was probably thinking a little too hard about this. “I’m surprised.”
Yuna paused looking over at Jade with a nervous smile. “Not that I don’t think you are smart and skilled and handsome.” She raised her palms, waving her arms a little frantically. She hadn’t meant to insult him. “I’m just surprised because I mean you are obviously smart and versed in the military and I don’t doubt your skills. Just that um…” This wasn’t going well for Yuna. “Since you are so handsome…”
She wished she could change the topic of conversation so that it was about the weather.
Yuna takes a deep breath before, slowly, continuing. “I just meant, I’m surprised you don’t have anyone close to you.” Since he claimed not to have friends.
no subject
And it just kept going.
Jade found he didn't have the heart to interrupt her, not when she kept making such interesting faces. The shades of red were particularly impressive. By the time she managed to stop digging her hole even further, Jade's grin had widened to the point he had to restrain himself to keep from laughing out loud.
"My, my. You have quite the way with words, Yuna." He chuckled, red eyes sparkling with mirth. It might have been a pleasant sight if it hadn't been at her expense. He shook his head, amused, before actually responding to her comment.
"Despite how the alcohol might make it seem, I'm not exactly what you'd call a warm person. It tends to put a damper on relationships."
no subject
She found his response curious and while the tint slowly faded she looked over at him. “Really?” She paused, not letting her lips run away without her mind stalking behind. “That might be true but you aren’t a mean or stand offish person. You are simply yourself.”
She didn’t see what was wrong with that and why it might hinder friendships. Of course, Yuna wasn’t one to judge people by their outward appearances, things like that are often misguiding.
no subject
"Well. This is a surprise." He recovered quickly, lowering his glass and leveling Yuna with a curious look. "Either you're exceptionally blind to people's faults, or I've truly gone soft with old age. I'm not sure which is more concerning."
It was a silly thing to be concerned about, of course, and Jade made a good show of appearing unconcerned. Even so... Having someone actually defend him was odd; he couldn't shake the strange feeling that he had slipped up somewhere.
no subject
"Or it might be because I like you. You're my friend and while you have faults I believe you're a good person." She looked at him, her cheeks tinted a little pink while her expression was steady. "Is that silly?"
Yuna has been drinking so now she's just saying things as they come to mind.
no subject
"I don't know about silly," he said, "but I do somewhat question your taste in friends. You're going to get yourself in trouble if you're not careful, you know."
Jade's tone was joking, but it was fairly obvious he was avoiding giving a direct response to her insistence of being friends.
no subject
“But, you know.” She turned towards Jade with a confident smile. “I think it’s better to trust people. I might get hurt but I’m strong enough to handle that and I’d rather trust those who deserve it then no one at all.” Not trusting anyone sounds very lonely to Yuna.
She took another sip of her drink finishing what was left in her glass.
no subject
By now, he was fairly certain the memory had belonged to the other Yuna. That was probably just as well. If this Yuna knew he had asked her to trust him back there, she'd never let him hear the end of it.
"Well, it sounds like you've made up your mind. I'll say no more of that." Jade set his empty glass down and turned away from the bar, looking at her over his shoulder.
"It's about time for me to be on my way. I wish you luck for the rest of the tournament, Yuna."
no subject
The sphere hunter watched Jade with a smile as he rose. "Thanks. I'll make sure to tell you about." Since he had to return to the military.
Yuna would head out shortly but there was no reason not to have one more drink before she left. It was always interesting meeting people in bars. Before Jade could leave she looked over at him. "Think you can make it home okay alone?"
no subject
With that, he left the bar, quietly shaking his head in wry amusement. Honestly, that girl... It might be interesting to see how many more times she'd manage to catch him by surprise.
