[Anyone happening by the sports arena today will notice a bit more action than usual. It's an off year for blitzball, but the captain of the Aqures Chocobos is all fired up anyway as he addresses his team. There is one Pyrrha Nikos standing as part of the lineup, standing tall and looking confident.]

Okay, recruits! We're a year out from the next Blitzball World Cup, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let the Calamity stop us from training as hard as we can for it. Some of you have been riding the bench for a while now, so it's time to see what you've got. I'll be announcing the new starting lineup after today's match, so give it all you got!

[A cheer goes up from the assembled players, Pyrrha included, as they take the field. Several practice games ensue, pitting new players against seasoned veterans, and giving the reserve team a chance to show the results of their training. Those not on the current starting lineup in particular are rotated through a variety of positions - forward, midfielder, defense, goalie - to see where their talents lie.

And Pyrrha, true to her dedication and natural talent, excels at all of them. She's only been in a few official games by this point, but she stops every attacker before they even get near the goal while on defense, shoots and charges past the best defenders on offense, controls the game like a professional from the midfield, and even blocks a number of shots as goalie.

By the time the matches are finished, she's certainly a bit winded from the exertion, but seems quietly satisfied with her performance, her teammates grinning from ear to ear alongside her. They've found their new ace.]

Pyrrha, with skills like that, you can play any position you want next season.

Thank you. I'll certainly do my best.

[As usual, she's humble and a bit tongue-tied when praise is being directed toward her, but she takes it all in stride. She makes for the locker rooms afterward, but it's easy for anyone watching to waylay her on the way there.]

[Minako wondered the streets, her eyes glazing over every inch of the place. She was planning something, but she was not making it obvious in the slightest. When her eyes caught someone, she had been awfully quick to smile before making her way over. When she reached them, her hands were behind her back and giving off the most innocent look she could muster. If only for a moment.]

Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.

While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...

To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.

There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

For those wandering around Aqures Ixen , one could spot a cheerful little girl, dressed in a Santa suit, hanging up a rather large sign. Going to her bag, she opens it up and pulls out a chair. She hauls the chair to an empty table, hops up on to the chair and begins to pull out various things from her bag.

Yachiru pulls out a few stacks of papers and sets them on the table. From her bag, she pulls out two boxes of crayons, opens them and empties them out on the table. She does the same to the boxes of color pencils. When her back is turned, a couple crayons roll away from the pile and end up underneath another table. A few pens and pencil are placed on the table. She continues her task for the next minute or so before hopping off the chair.

The table is now mostly covered with papers and writing utensils. A few children timidly walk up to Yachiru and thrust their letters onto her before running away. Not at all bothered by the action, she takes the letters and drops them into another bag. She nods which makes her hat slide down and cover her eyes. Pushing up her hat, she turns around and announces in a very loud voice.

"Ne, ne! Come write a letter to Santa! I got lots of papers and crayons!"

Nearby, her Moogle, wearing a little bell around her collar, pipes up.

"We do take letters from adults, kupo."

[Chiaki isn't all that interested in the Ghostbuster Job itself, but what she is interested in is doing sidequests. Especially the kind that get a reward as amazing as a free item from O'aka's shop. So even though she's planning on discarding the Job at the end of the month, she's gone ahead and switched Engineer out for it for the time being. All she has to do is capture one ghost, and then she can claim her reward.]

A. [It looks like Chiaki's found an easy target for her first ghost hunting job. She's stalking a Polterpup through the streets at a distance, sneaking along and doing her best to stay quiet. In fact, she's so focused on her quarry that she isn't paying attention to much else. The energetic little pup dashes around a street corner, and she does her best to follow it, but it's at that time that she slams straight into another Hero of Light - your Hero of Light, in fact - coming around the other way!]

Oof!

[Chiaki goes sprawling to the ground, and the noise of ghostly whining and yapping can be heard fast approaching! Think fast, there's a ghost doggy coming and he wants to play!]

B. [This time, Chiaki's after stronger prey, and she's sent out a message via Mognet a few hours ahead of time for some backup. Anyone coming to meet her in the park, however, will find the gamer girl conspicuously absent. What they will find after some looking, and if they follow the ghostly giggling echoing through the area, is a beautifully crafted porcelain doll sitting placidly beneath a tree. The smile on its face is just a little too wide, eyes shining too brightly to be simply a normal doll. And worst of all, it's holding another, smaller doll in its arms - one that will look very familiar to anyone who knows Chiaki.]

I made a new friend today! Will you play with us? My friend loves games.

Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!
