"I should have figured there would be a next time," Rukia sighed heavily, though she was smiling. He did have a certain talent at pushing her buttons, she'd give him that. She was too happy he was awake to feel any real anger at this point.

It felt nice to have her friend back. He was one of a handful in the city that Rukia had grown more than a little attached to in the short couple of months she'd found herself in this world.
