Christmas Party & Cheer

With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

[Even though Saori arrived earlier to help out, she somehow managed to miss the moment of the mistletoe being hung up. Brigid patient kept her mouth shut as she watched quietly when Saori walked over to Sparks. ]

Evening, Sparks. I'm glad you could make it. Did you want to leave your cooler in the kitchen so you won't have to carry it with you everywhere?

[Sparks has the cooler next to him on the floor, with a container of spoons nearby. He tossed one of the pints with Saori's name on it to her.]

Nah, 's okay. Wanna make sure everyone gets theirs. Enjoy.

[She recognizes the brand instantly since someone had been playing as Sparks's gelato fairy a few months ago. She'll just play along though.]

Oh, this is from the gelato store near the station right? Thank you! So, I guess that means your freezer should be pretty open, right?

Uh... [You would think he had space now, but...] Relatively. Why?

Good because your present from me is going to take up some space in the freezer. I'm just glad I made it in time for the holidays. You won't be disappointed.

[It's only then did Brigid tapped Saori on the shoulder.]

What on earth are you tal-oh.

[The moogle slipped away, giggling to herself as Saori looked mildly horrified at what hung above them. And here she was so good about dodging mistletoe the entire month until now. She cleared her throat.]

Right then. This is strictly for the holiday spirit so no reporting me to HR, alright?

[Without giving Sparks a chance to react, she gave him a peck on the cheek and turned her head away. For someone who's been around the relationship block a few times, there was something cute about her blushing like a school girl.]

[Sparks looks up to spot the mistletoe, but doesn't have time to say anything before Saori gets him on the cheek. His face reddens slightly as he looks surprised.]

I. Uh. It's, um. Holiday tradition. No reason to be reported. Right?

Y-yeah. Holiday tradition. Anyway, you probably shouldn't be doing your gift giving here unless you want a smooch from everyone and their moogle's grandma. At least this looks like the only mistletoe here though?

[Saori's eyes dart across the ceiling, on the look out for the accursed decoration. She gives the nod of approval once everything's clear. Knowing it was safe, she goes ahead and takes a spoonful of her gelato. She hadn't had gelato straight out of the container since she was pregnant but honestly she deserved it after this month.]

Dang, this is good. They really got the flavors down nicely. Can't believe I didn't try this one after paying for last time. The spices aren't overpowering but give it such a nice kick after the sweetness.

Really, Sparks, save room for your freezer. I'll drop it off at your place tomorrow after work.

Alright, I will. That means everyone here better take theirs homes. I can't be stuck with all this.

[Because he'll eat all of it. And that won't be good.]
