With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

Well it would have been the case had I been at home. But with my stall and all here I had no time.

[She had rarely been at home this month, which was pretty impressive in itself since usually that was where she could be found being lay for the most part. But mistletoe and love were just something she had been passionate about.]

You did? [She didn't fully understand why but it was enough for her to feel happy both inside and out.]

[ Ace offers her an understanding nod. It was out of his own volition that he has stuck to his duties in Aqures for the most part, but even though he wasn't a frequent visitor in the newly-opened village, he has to admit the results of the Heroes' efforts are pretty impressive. ]

This... is the tradition, isn't it? To present gifts to one another.

[ ... Does his participation come across as this surprising? Somewhat timidly, he glances to the side. ]

I think so, I mean it was back home... Though you ask like you don't know.

[She pondered that perhaps it was because it wasn't a thing where he was from.]

Does that mean you need things explained to you?

I believe the concept is not overly difficult to grasp. Besides, it wasn't unusual to celebrate birthdays back home, and exchange gifts, if only time allowed.

[ Of course, it was never this fancy and carefree, but both things seem to be following the same principles at the core, right? The cadet then turns his head, exchanging glances with his Moogle. ]

... Hana, would you mind bringing it over? You know which one.

[Minako had been quick to turn around and look for where she had placed her. It was in a sack that much she knew since she did bring a lot of them with her. When she spotted her moogle and the sack behind him, she had jogged on over to open it and grab the few presents she had brought before bringing them back over.]

[ Hanafuda had likewise managed to fetch her target by that point, a delicate velvet pouch hiding within a couple accessories that she had helped him pick when they were shopping together. Frankly, it had been one of the most difficult gifts to figure out considering Ace tended to stick to the practical side of things.

The cadet has been educated in the field of gift-giving enough to be aware that they're best presented as a surprise of sorts, so for the time being, he will be keeping his behind his back. Perhaps there's a certain degree of shyness to his behaviour as well, as he quietly hopes it doesn't turn out... disappointing. After all, he's already seen some of the Heroes going out of their way with their preparations. ]

[Minako checked to make sure she had the right things when she had returned before holding it out. She had somehow managed to wrap it herself and tied it off with a little bow.]

I hope that you like it. If it puts a smile to your face... I mean... Nothing!

[She will just holds it out until he takes it.]

[ O-only if she accepts his own in return! The cadet quickly retrieves his own, figuring it's for the best that the exchange proceeds simultaneously. Considering her announcement already proves to be enough to make him seem the tiniest bit flustered, it might be a good idea not to draw any more attention to himself than necessary. ]

And this... is for you. I did have to ask for some help with it.

[ In case the colors are not to her liking, or anything else, really, though he might have been personally biased towards that yellow for... reasons. The bow is a proof of the incredible creativity of the Mysidian crafters, its delicate ornaments etched onto the cloth with precision unlikely to be achieved by a human hand.

~~To be fair, Mysidia didn't have too many humans to begin with.~~

As he subsequently unwraps her present, with utmost caution that is only appropriate, he suddenly finds himself unable to keep his emotions at bay. There's a glint in his eyes as he studies both the charm and the stuffed Chocobo now resting safely in his joined palms, which further transforms into a clear, joyful expression once he reads the attached note. ]

... I'll make my wish count. Thank you so much.

[ Yep, he might just keep on staring at his new treasures for a while. ]

[As Minako opened the present she couldn't help but smile slightly. Sure ribbon she wore often, but she never thought about yellow. But that was mostly because of what she had been told about a red one. With it still firmly in her grasp she looked up slightly with a small smile.]

Good, after all wishes are powerful things. As for my present, you think I suit yellow?

They truly are.

[ ... It's admirable how she considered him capable of answering such a question. The bow aside, she would also find a couple of pearl pins alongside it that glimmered with similar warmth. Still, he wasn't able to provide any explanation as to why it seemed like a good idea, his brows forming a slightly worried expression. ]

I know that red is your usual colour, and for that reason I thought it might be good to get something different. [ Plus, crimson held its own significance for him as well, perhaps that's why? The boy smiled apologetically. ] It seemed... bright, and happy.

[Red was her usual colour and it was for a reason. The first boy she liked told her it suited her and she never looked back, but his words the colour seemed bright and happy. She wondered if he was implying that she was bright and happy. With that thought in find she found herself blushing a light shade of red before looking down, still holding the items firmly in her grasp.

She might as well try the colour at least.]

It is a very bright and happy colour and that's kind of like what I'm like, right? [Shaking her head she looks up, now with a smile on her face and the shade of red gone.]

Plus it seems we both had a theme of yellow of some kind since chocobo's are yellow usually.

[ The realisation strikes. ]

Ah, that's... that's not why I -- [ Lies had never been Ace's strongest suit, so even if it hadn't been on purpose, now he couldn't exactly deny feeling the tiniest bit inspired by the same golden shade he'd grown to associate with these birds.

Maybe it was time to admit defeat, which in his case meant a soft exhale and another bashful smirk. That, and it was difficult to disagree with what she'd said. ]

... Well, that was the idea. I hope it's okay.

It's fine. I quite like the fluffy yellow creatures, even though I've not really used one much.

[It was a fine theme for her anyway and for the moment she places it in the small bag she managed to bring to the party since she didn't exactly have pockets.]

I think I will try it on when I go to the bathroom, but thank you. I really appreciate it.
