With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

[Though normally not one to be a wallflower, Elena is still pretty new to the city and unfamiliar to many of the faces milling about. So she's keeping a healthy distance from the main group with an ever-watchful eye over the crowd. She may appear to be lacking any festivity, considering she's still wearing her gunner outfit, but she's not had the time or money to find something more suitable.

At least the booze was decent, a single glass of champagne being nursed through the event.]

[Reno sidled up beside Elena with a beer and his paper bag of gifts.]

Hey, you.

[He smiled, still wearing his own Assassin's coat. Between going to Mysidia, Santa's Village, and shopping for other people, some kind of festive outfit for himself had never crossed his mind.]

You doin' okay?

[Now this was a welcomed visitor and she gives the man a little smile.]

Hey yourself.

[Of course she takes a moment to eye him over, considering she last found him with an injured arm. An eyebrow lifts in an unspoken question - That coat? Really? - before her smile pulls into a grimace.]

More or less. Though life keeps trying to remind me that I've got the shittiest luck known to mankind. [Leaning in towards him, she lowers her voice as she speaks.] I'm living in the same house as Sephiroth.

[His brow furrowed, as if he could read her mind. What's wrong with my coat, my coat is awesome.]

[Of course, he just about choked on his beer to hear where she'd been living. He really should have looked into it sooner -- oops. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.]

Sephiroth? [He frowned.] That is awkward as hell.

[Even if Sephiroth was trying to be a "hero," and hadn't caused anyone harm yet, Reno didn't like it.]

[Really, it was fun being able to have an unspoken conversation. Ah, the perks of being a Turk. An eyebrow lifted in return. If you're trying to cosplay as a less ragged Valentine, maybe.]

Considering that he and I have a very long and torrid history in my last world, that's a fucking understatement.

[Oh yes. Those memories would always remain fresh in her memory, now that they shared the same living space. And while the affects of the Geostigma had long since passed, every once in a while she'd feel an uncomfortable need to itch the nearly invisible marks on her right hand and just below the hairline on her forehead.]

I nearly had a panic attack when I opened the door to my room and find him standing there. But he seems nice enough and he's not home very often, so I've managed.

[Yuffie waves a dismissive hand towards Elena. She doesn't really know what to think about the turk but they had been captured together.... once. Mostly Yuffie knew that she was annoying and loud but this woman seemed a lot older than that.

It was a little hard to gage.]

[Leather is certainly an interesting look for a party. Yuffie is dressed more for a party. She’s wearing a midnight black sweater dress that falls off her shoulders and then clings to her slightly curvy form. The end of the dress seems a little short, barely pulling over her rear but she calculated for that and wore dark leggings that kept her legs completely covered. Her boots were the same, rising up to just below her knee. Her hair which now brushes against the end of her shoulder blades is pushed back with two emerald green ribbons snaking through it.

There is a glass of wine place between her fingers and a light smile curling at the curve of her lips.]

Didn't think I'd see you here.

[Well, this was unusual. Another Gaian - Yuffie, the ninja - in the city. Just how many of them were wandering around this world anyway? Not to be rude, she returns the wave andd waits for the girl to amble over.]

Hello Miss. Kisaragi.

[Yuffie's look was certainly more risque than she would have imagined her wearing, but it was a look that was quite flattering. It made the young woman appear more mature - which was a feat in and of itself.]

I'm hardly one to miss an opportunity to see just who all the Heroes are. [Oh yes, she heard that hint of familiarity and saw that smile. And Elena could play that game as well.] I have to say, you look very nice. So nice that it looks like the bartender didn't hesitate to give you wine instead of carding you.

[Yuffie has a long history when it comes to her age in Crystallis and she doesn’t think that Elena should have to know about it. Quite frankly, it wasn’t any of her business. Instead she smiles bringing her drink to her lips for a sip as if to emphasize the idea of her drinking.]

It happens when you are close to your twenties. I’m sure you remember even though it was so long ago.

[Her words have a slight edge to them but she is otherwise friendly. There is no reason to be mean to Elena; except the fact that she’s annoying and Yuffie’s memory of her screams of incompetence. Not that Yuffie was much better; the pair filled similar roles within their respective groups. Only Yuffie’s team won and was clearly better.]

Sounds like you are just trying to get dirt on people.

[She’s convinced that Turks are selfish and while she likes Reno he hasn’t exactly proven otherwise.]

[She had been taking a sip of her drink when Yuffie's comment caught her off guard, earning a snorting, choking sound followed with an honest to goodness laugh.]

'So long ago?' Just how old do you think I am??

[Okay, so maybe Elena got a little defensive. She's not ever really been called, or hinted at being, old. But, then again, she couldn't remember the last time she got carded. Not at Ruby City or back on Gaia. On the other hand, nobody really carded a Turk.]

Or...or...maybe I'm still getting my footing here and am looking to see if a) there are others here from Gaia that I may know or b) may be trying to make some friends.

[Yuffie laughed at her reaction.]

What? You are always so stiff and you dress like you're in your forties.

[It isn't as if she's ever seen Elena with a smile on her face either and people generally looked younger when they smiled.]

Oh, there are a lot of people from Gaia. You could have just asked. I think there is even a list of all the heroes here. Come on Turk, you're supposed to be good at this stuff.

[Yuffie's tone is light, she isn't actually trying to piss of Elena but it is fun to tease the older woman.]
