With Rukia's help they were able to find a large enough hall in Christmas Town to throw the party. Zelda had set it for this day since a group of brave heroes were going to set out on the 24th. She had made sure that everything was perfect and of course everyone was invited. There were at least six decorated trees with polished silver and gold ornaments hanging from their branches. Scarlet red ribbons decorated the trees and tables with large bows tying the streaming trails together.

There was one very large tree at the halls center and there were a few presents around the bottom for those who needed a place to put gifts. At it's top was a large pointed star.

Champagne and small finger snacks were set on the tables and a part of the room was cleared for those who wanted to dance. Zelda was even able to hire a few people to play Christmas songs throughout the night. There was a table dedicated to sweets with cookies, cakes, small pies and other wonderful treats spread out for people to try.

Among the decorations was mistletoe. This little plant hung above the doorways waiting for any pair who happens to be caught in their hold. Most of the mistletoe was thanks to Minako but Zelda might have put up one sprig at the entrance to the party; it's all in good fun and kisses on the hand or cheek are perfectly acceptable.

[ Tear nods in turn, now eyeing the cane she was twirling in her hands. ]

And I'm glad you've all been so accommodating throughout all of it. Though, I'm afraid I don't know your name...?

Ah! I'm Bonnie! It's nice to meet you, kupo~ I'm Mary's moogle, kupo.

[She tugs on her cloth hood as she mentions the name of her Hero, smiling a prideful little smile.]

Mary... I may have heard of her. [ Even if it was only in passing, but now that she'd met the moogle she may as well meet her Hero, right? ]

I'll try and keep an eye out for her. Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you, Bonnie. My name is Tear, and again I thank you for your kindness.

She's a very strong Hero, kupo. And kind too. I want to be a brave and fierce warrior like her someday, kupo.

[The moogle smiles all the brighter at the thanks she is given.]

Just keep on fighting for all of us Miss Tear, kupo!

You want to join in the fighting? [ It had nothing to do with Tear doubting her abilities—she knew full well that Moogles were capable—she just wanted to be sure she understood Bonnie's intention. ]

If that's your goal, I'm sure you know that it takes a lot of dedication to make it through.

Well if you all are fighting and risking your lives to help save our world, I don't see why we shouldn't too, kupo~ And I know. I'll do whatever it takes to be the best support I can be for Mary and the rest of the Heroes, kupo.

There's more to it than just fighting, but if it's what you really want to do then I'm not going to stop you. [ She shakes her head lightly to further emphasise the point. ]

I know several of the other Heroes prefer to have their Moogle companions stay behind, so I haven't seen many join in battle.

Thank you, kupo. I know it's more than just that but I still want to try. [Her wings give an energetic little flutter and she spins about in midair]

I know I'm not ready to join you all on the front line....but I'll help defend our homes and the other moogles, kupo~

The front lines aren't the only important part of a unit. We depend on the strength and reassurance that should something happen, those behind us will be there to have our backs.

[ Humming to herself softly, the melodist looked at the party still peppering the hall, thinking how each one of those people was an ally of some sort. ] What does Mary say of this?

[Bonnie suddenly looks very thoughtful about all of this. Others at the party have just granted her niceties but Tear is one of the first Heroes to actually talk to her in depth about her wanting to fight alongside the Heroes.]

Well...she says that everyone should have the right to choose what it is they want to do, kupo. And I want to fight. I know that I'm small and weak but she's been helping me to learn where an enemies' weak points are, kupo. Also she says the best attack is the one the enemy doesn't see at all, kupo.

She would be right about that. [ Nodding firmly as if to further emphasise her answer, Tear closed her eyes in preparation for what she was going to say next. ]

I once knew someone who by all means had a very frail body. But when it came down to it, he was capable of power I could barely comprehend.

[ A smile had once again graced her lips, if wistful in its nature. ]

Using it often took it's toll, so we tried to discourage him from using it. But he was stronger than just sheer fighting capabilities, in other ways.

Mmmm, I see, kupo.

[She didn't completely, but it was polite to pretend that she did. Maybe the person was a magic user? It didn't sound like a moogle.]

He was important to you, kupo? Did he ever master his powers?

He was very important to me. [ Without even thinking about it she brings her hands closer to herself, the grip on the candy tightening with the memory of that person. ]

I think he did, but he was also the only one who could use them so I don't know for sure.

I see....Is he okay, kupo? Or did something happen to him?

[All this past tense talk is a little disconcerting]

[ The question makes Tear pause—she couldn't say it had come out of nowhere, but it still made her breath go still for several moments.

Breathing out, she closed her eyes. ] He's... he was here for a time, but now he's in stasis. And before that, he had passed away.

[Bonnie looks a little deflated as she listens to Tear's reply. This is meant to be a happy party and now she's making this Hero remember bad things.]

I see, kupo. I'm sorry if this was hard to talk about. I didn't want to make you think of bad things, kupo. Especially not tonight.

No, it's not your fault. [ Opening her eyes again, Tear offered Bonnie a reassuring, and perhaps to her surprise, grateful smile. ]

Honestly, I haven't had the chance to talk about him often since. It's not... a bad thing, to remember him sometimes. He will always be my friend.

[The smile is very well received and returned in kind. Smiles were the best reward a mail moogle could get after all. That and tasty kupo nuts.]

That's true, kupo. And I'm sure he was happy to have you as a friend. I hope you see him again soon, kupo.

I do, too. [ Just as it had been throughout the entirety of their conversation, Tear's voice is filled with the same gratitude for the gift the moogle had bestowed upon her.

And that wasn't just referring to the candy cane. ] And I also hope to see you some more after tonight, Bonnie.
