Summary: Despite the wonderful new additions to the world of Job obtaining, Tsubomi is busy working on making her own mark

Custom Jobs. This was probably the thing many of the heroes in Aqures Ixen was happy to find out about. The ability to be able to use their powers once more and no longer feel too burdened by the Job System. On one hand, Tsubomi should be excited - she can become Cure Blossom again! With Sayaka around, she could show her what she could do as a Cure! But...

...what worried her was her other Jobs. Chocobo Knight, Red Mage, Programmer, Engineer, Ghostbuster, Dancer, Pirate, Gunner, Santa and now Blacksmith. She was so excited to finish Gunner and Pirate because of the awesome Airship she got with the Advanced Job and the Santa job was just as fun because of what it offered! But, to dump all of that just to be who she was once more? It didn't seem fair. To abandon Hana and her sleigh flock just to be able to move swiftly on her own? To further ignore special jobs she had gotten and never used before?

With that, she made her own little vow - before she became a Cure again, she would be her own hero. She would make her own armor, give herself a chance to be herself and use what she had before she returned to her old job.

But, right now, with her work still slow, she was busy starting the first little bit of the idea - designing a look for it. And she was incredibly rusty from not doing fashion designs for nearly a year as the wastebin nearby was filling up with paper.

It hadn't taken Meteor long to run out of potions. So off to the item shop he went. The endless cycle of doing quests, filling requests and item gathering was getting on him, and he was planning on picking up some basic linen cloth as well for gathering. Disciplines of the Land, they called it back home, a strong, keen institution for providing the realm with ores, gems and other things.

When he entered the building that afternoon, he noticed Tsubomi there as he went straight for the linen. One of the balls of paper however was near his boot, and he reached down to unfold it.

"You're a craftsman, Tsubomi?" he asked curiously, looking at the design of what was clearly some kind of customized suit of armor.

"H-Huh?!" Tsubomi jumped up in shock before realizing it was Meteor before her. Calming down a bit, she smiled sheepishly. "W-Well... I picked up some tips o-on how to make clothes back home, so I'm hoping I can adjust it for armor and such."

She let out a little sigh as she continued. "I don't want to abandon the jobs I've picked up just because I'll be getting my powers back soon..."

"Understandable. You took on a new discipline, correct? What kind?"

IF this was armor, then an Armorsmith would be ideal. The Blacksmith Job even, though he wasn't going to assume. "I might be able to give you some tips on it."

"A-Ah... b-blacksmith." Tsubomi admitted. "I... needed something different. All of my other jobs were dealing with fighting, so I wanted something more... practical."

Meteor chuckled, setting the page down in front of Tsubomi. "I am surprised actually that the disciples of the hand are not more encouraged. There is a wealth of knowledge to be had with the practical arts. Back home, Adventurers and the smallfolk alike are encouraged to have some kind of craft under their trade."

He gestured towards his pickaxe. "I've been repairing my equipment for a long time now, and cooking my own meals, but it's been a while since I gathered. We call those disciplines of the land."

Tsubomi took a thoughtful look at that. "I think... I think everyone's trying to deal with what's going on by just fighting and... well... not trying to better themselves. B-But, that's just me." she admitted.

"Back home, I've been into gardening and a friend of mind got me i-into designing clothes so... I-I'm hoping they could help me out just a bit."

He nodded. "Some aren't used to it. Others are, which is why striking a balance is a good idea."

"Hmm... well... not to brag, but I'm a fairly credible armorsmith back home. Can I see some of your designs?" asked Meteor thoughtfully. "I might be able to help with some of the practical stuff."

"Ah... w-well... i-if you want to... sure." Tsubomi said, bashfully showing off some of the designs. The big basis of this seems to be a set of robes that seem a little shorter than normal but it seems to be stuck there, as if Tsubomi's hit some sort of designer's block.

For a moment, Meteor was thrown. Blacksmith could make robes? That was a skillset usually reserved for tailors. But then he nodded, picking up a pencil and tracing a line at the corners.

"The outfit is sound, simple yes, but it needs reinforcement. Conjurers and mages alike put a lot of stress on the shoulders and the underarms, as well as the chest part here and here. You want to obtain leather straps to make an underwire network of support as a staff carried on the back can tear here and here."

"As for the overall design, it is very good. You just need tightening up in these stress points."

[Every so often, Levy likes to stop by the item shop to visit Tsubomi while she's working. She doesn't get a lot of free time between her own two jobs and guild leader duties, so it's nice to visit when she does.]

...Hard at work, huh?

L-Levy...!

[And she's quick to try to straighten up her spot and try to look like she had been busy.] Ah... y-yeah, I am...! Eheheh...

[Levy smiles to herself, leaning over to look at the ever-growing pile of crumpled up paper next to the desk.]

What are you working on?

Ah, well... I wanted something different, so... I-I took up a new Job and I'm trying to design my own armor for my Jobs.

[She sounds so nervous admitting that bit. Of course, there's more to it, but...]

Yeah? What do you have so far?

[Levy walks around behind the counter, leaning over to take a look at what she's working on.]

Did you take the Blacksmith Job? I've been working on that one too.

Y-Yes, I did. I... didn't think I would need something like it, but... I-I find it quite fun.

[The design on the paper is a little on the crude side, though the armor idea more resembles something like a robe, yet shorter. Tsubomi's grateful that she hadn't labeled anything just yet, though...]

Oooooh, it's pretty! Is it going to be pink like your other clothes?

[Tsubomi couldn't help but blush at that.]

Y-Yes, it is. I-I don't know why, but... I-I like the color.

[~~It's because you're a Toei team character and they're always color-coordinated, I mean--~~]

That's okay. Pink suits you.

[wink wonk]

[Oh, stop messing with her heart, she's all aflutter again!]

Th-thank you, Levy...!

[She shuffles a bit, bashful.]

[But it's so easy and she's so cute!]

I'm sure you'll come up with something good. Maybe you can design something for me someday!

You would like that? R-Really? I-I can if you want me to!

Sure! My favorite color is blue, and I like skirts and short dresses.

[And Tsubomi quickly jots all of this down. Seems simple enough!]

Oh, it'll be like being back home again with this...

Do you want me to pay you upfront? I've never commissioned something like this before.

P-Pay me? Y-You don't have to, b-but... well... if you want to, you can.

[Being paid for this? She never thought of that and having someone like Levy asking for it...]

Yeah, I definitely want to. I can't expect you to do all this hard work for me for nothing.

Well... okay, then. I... don't have any set prices yet, so... p-pay me what you think is fair?

I'll see what you come up with and go from there. I promise it'll be what the work is worth, though. I don't want to rip you off or anything.

Okay! Um... I don't know if I can, but... was there anything special you want with this?

Special how? You mean like enchanting it?

Y-Yeah... [she fishes out the EXP Orb she got back in November] I haven't used this yet, b-but maybe I can and be able to do something like it? I'm... not sure how it works yet...

Oh, you got one too! I've been using it on my own Blacksmith job. I figure since I'm probably going to stay in Scholar forever, I might as well learn something else twice as fast.

Enchanting stuff is the last skill you learn, though, right? I can't even do that much yet.
