Intro Log || Third Time's the Charm

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of November. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. For the first time since it all began, it seems they are the first batch not to have any sort of problems: small miracles?

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- And you do have your Crystal too, great news!

If asked, the Moogles will mention some "disastrophic" event that happened last month and involved disappearing crystals, heroes of light falling sick and killing each other. Sure sounds like a lovely place to be in! Thankfully it's all over now. Right?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Celebrations
— Anytime —
The 'Halloween' decorations are long gone now, but given the impending death threat that floated over the city a couple days ago, the celebrations for the Night of the Thirteen Moogles were all cancelled. Fear not, for people have decided to hold mini-celebrations over the city today to compensate for what's been missed. It's not that much, but there are stands and banquets, especially by the 9nth and 11th District where you can find all sort of food and especially candies: tons of candies that were, unfortunately, not used on the 31st of October. But at least it's a paradise for children who come and go with their hands full of candies.

Oh, and there are a lot of Kupo Nuts as well. Though, most Moogles do not seem to be in particularly high spirits, so they're pretty neglected, for the first and probably last time.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially for newcomers. A 20:00, a BLitzball game will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing the Teams of Esdham and Aqures. Earlier at 16:00, a few groups of Triple Triad players are playing: one before Mognet Office in the ninth district next to the celebrations, another near the Blitzball Stadium in the 10th District. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, especially now that Mognet just started again after a closed down period. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline. It's in the process of re-opening after having been closed for most of past month, and the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

The young ninja was darting between the roofs when she spotted those waking up near the fire crystal. She really had no interest in those waking up because she couldn't think of anyone from home she would be happy to see. She was always a little bit of a loner. However the word 'prank' dragged Yuffie's attention to one of those in the group and she couldn't help herself.

She looked around to make sure her annoying little fluff of a moogle wasn't nearby. He had been acting strange for days now and she wanted to no part of it.

She jumped down and walked towards the man with a grin. "You don't like wearing a dress?" She had been in the city long enough that she managed to find clothes similar to the ones she had from home.

Kazahaya whirled around to face the speaker, flushing bright red. He KNEW this would happen.

"NUH-UH!" he denied fervently. "I'm not a pervert! I woke up dressed like this." He tugged at the robes uselessly. He really needed to wake up from this dream, and fast. Even if this was all just in his head, the girl's amused grin made him really self-conscious.

"Then who dressed you?" She was teasing but he was so flustered she was sure he wouldn't notice. The young ninja walked around him with a a happy smile. "Though I guess if this is a dream it might not matter."

Yuffie looked down at herself and gently tugged at her shirt. "Doesn't feel like a dream. What does that mean then?"

Kazahaya shuddered. "It better be a dream, because if someone undressed me while I was sleeping, they'd better start running now," he growled. It had happened to him once before, nope, make that twice, but that had been Rikuo, and he'd been unconscious with his clothes soaked through and frozen, so that was different.

He zoned out for a moment, lost in memories, before violently shaking his head. "If it's not a dream, that means there's some clothes-stealing pervert running around here!" He pointed a finger dramatically at the girl. "Have you seen any sketchy people around here?" he demanded.

Her smile widened. "Just you." It was then that she couldn't keep it in anymore and bent over laughing. It might have been mean but she couldn't stop herself. Mooshoo came flying over then, flying catching up to his hero. The little fluff had his hands on his hips as he looked over at Yuffie.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" She was trying to curb her laughter but it was difficult. "There is no one like that running around or at least none that touched you. You were dressed by magic. It's your job class. It's what happens when you wake up here."

Kazahaya sort of deflated at that. "...I'm not sketchy," he whimpered, and it sounded more like he was begging her not to think so than he was making a declaration. He hated it when people laughed at him. It reminded him of how different and awkward he was. "And I already have a job. I don't need another one."

He paused, looking up with large, shining eyes. "...unless this one pays better..."

Mooshoo disregarded Yuffie and looked up at the boy. "Job classes are the abilities that you are given to fight. They are not related to your employment, however while you are here there are openings for the heroes of light."

Once Yuffie finally regained her composer she walked closer with a smile. "Yeah what he said." She wasn't going to say more on the sketchy bit unless he brought it back up. She had been joking but didn't really care if the joke wasn't well received.

"So I can get a job here? An 'employment'?" Kazayaha asked, perking up. He ignored the stuff about fighting. He didn't want to hurt anyone. Fighting wasn't his style.

"I don't wanna end up on the streets again. I don't think I'm gonna make a very good Hero, so I definitely need to find something else to do. Where do I sign up?" He hadn't exactly applied for the last job he'd been hired for, so he honestly didn't know where to start.

"You can if you want but they give you a house to live in." Yuffie pointed of towards district 11 before looking back at Kazayaha. She still had a smile but her laughter finally ceased completely.

Mooshoo flew closer knowing that Yuffie wasn't going to help anymore than that and started to explain. "There is employment listed on the bulletin board. You just need to go to the place that is hiring and ask."

"They can't just give us a place to live and not expect something of us," Kazahaya protested. That had been one of the first things he'd learned when he'd left home. Nothing came free.

"But that sounds easy enough," he nodded at Mooshoo. "I'll get a job and then they won't try to kick me out when they realize I'm a terrible hero. All I can do is see things."

It was only after the words were out of his mouth that he remembered he wasn't supposed to tell strangers about his powers. He clapped his hands over his mouth. Subtle, he was not.

"You can pay me for your room then." Yuffie smiled up at Kazahaya for a moment before Mooshoo came and bopped her on the head. "HEY!"

"It is because you are strangers to our world that we offer you housing, kupo. If you get a job it and help the city we are appreciated." Mooshoo bowed slightly, trying to show respect.

"You're not a landlady," Kazahaya declared. He was pretty sure she was messing with him now. But at least she wasn't throwing candy down his shirt or any of the other things Saiga-san did on a regular basis to pester him, so he'd ignore it for now.

He turned to Mooshoo, a little confused. Why was he bowing to him? He took the moogle's hand...paw...whatever, and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I'll help out AND get paid. Everybody wins. I'm not just gonna sit around and be useless," he declared.

"Now, where's this board with the jobs?" he asked, realizing he had absolutely no idea where he was supposed to be going.

"It's that way." Yuffie pointed off into the mostly correct direction and then noticed the look that Mooshoo gave her. She laughed nervously while putting her arms behind her head. "Ah, I mean.. why don't we should you? Right Mooshoo?"

She smiled at her Mooshoo who nodded happily in return. She was trying to be less of a brat and it made Mooshoo proud.

"Oh? Really?" Kazahaya smiled at the pair of them. "If it's not too much trouble, that'd be great!"

He started walking in the direction she'd pointed, then, he realized he still didn't know who she was. He'd been told many times he was too trusting of people, that he should be wary of strangers.

"My name's Kazahaya," he told them, hoping they'd introduce themselves in return. Then they wouldn't be strangers, and all everything would be fine.

"I am the Great Ninja Yuffie!" She stood up straight and placed her hands on her hips with a confident smile. "You may also refer to me as Treasure Princess." It was clear that Yuffie loved introducing herself.

Mooshoo just shook his head and fluttered up next to Kazahaya. "I am Mooshoo. You can just refer to the princess as Yuffie."

"HEY!" Yuffie followed Mooshoo and started walking towards the board. "Is that anyway to talk about me?" She grabbed Mooshoo and smiled as he struggled to get out of her hug. The young ninja's eyes looked back up at Kazahaya. "So what kinda job you lookin' for?"

Kazahaya watched as the two scuffled. It was obvious they cared about each other, to tease each other the way they did. He wondered if he and Kupodo would end up that close of friends.

He paused when Yuffie spoke to him again. "Well, I don't have a lot of qualifications," he admitted, smile slipping a little. "So whatever will take me? I was working at a Drug Store before I was brought here." Unpacking boxes and stocking shelves was pretty much the only practical experience he had. Hopefully, there were shops here in...wherever it was they were.

"Well they have accessory shops and weapons shops. So I'm sure you'll find something." She didn't try to reassure him that there was something he could do. Yuffie figured he liked doing mundane things like that. After some time Mooshoo was released from his heroes hold and fluttered next to them as they walked towards the boards.

"If the job has qualifications then they are listed Kupo."

Kazayaha nodded. "Good. That should work. As long as they don't do background checks."

Saying things like that probably sounded pretty sketchy, but Yuffie probably already thought he was weird. He waved the thought away.

"So, what do you do here? Is 'Treasure Princess' some sort of idol name?" Kazahaya could never quite understand what was cool or fashionable, but the girls who stopped by the Green Drug Store to spy on Rikuo were always talking about their favorite celebrities with silly names like that.

"No! It's because I am a Princess. Of treasure." She smiled like it was obvious what this treasure was. Yuffie didn't have a job of her own but she had been thinking of doing just that, not that she was going to say as much with Mooshoo around.

Kazahaya examined her a little more closely. He didn't think she was a REAL princess. Princesses had castles and bodyguards and butlers named Sebastian. Maybe 'Treasure Princess' was like 'Piffle Princess', that brand of clothes all the girls back home wore.

"When you're not princessing, do you have to do any secret missions for the bosses of the Heroes? Like, what do they even want us to do?" Kupodo had not really been able to clarify for him. The moogle seemed sure he would know when the time came. Kazahaya had had enough vague future predictions to last him a lifetime.

"Heroes don't have bosses and for your information you never stop being a princess. Being a hero just means you have something to protect and this world is what we have been told to protect." It was suppose to be informative but her words were still sharp. She took great pride in both titles and to have someone talk about them so casually upset her. She had to get back to Gaia, she had something important to protect.

For once Mooshoo stayed quiet. He never did win an argument when it came back to those topics. That and ShinRa he had given up asking about.

"If you really want to be a hero. Then find something to protect." With that Yuffie grabbed Mooshoo by his bandanna and pointed to a board a few yards away. "There's the board. I'm leaving."

Kazahaya blinked at Yuffie. He wasn't sure what he'd done, but something he said had struck a nerve.

"I'm sorry. Thank you very much for your help," he said, nodding his head at her in a little bow. He turned towards the bulletin board.

"I'm not like that. I don't have anything left to protect. Pretty soon they'll realize I'm not a hero like the others," he murmured to the board. He scanned the job listings, searching for something that he was qualified for.

She only heard half of his goodbyes because after a blind she vanished from sight.
