Intro Log || Third Time's the Charm

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of November. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. For the first time since it all began, it seems they are the first batch not to have any sort of problems: small miracles?

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- And you do have your Crystal too, great news!

If asked, the Moogles will mention some "disastrophic" event that happened last month and involved disappearing crystals, heroes of light falling sick and killing each other. Sure sounds like a lovely place to be in! Thankfully it's all over now. Right?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Celebrations
— Anytime —
The 'Halloween' decorations are long gone now, but given the impending death threat that floated over the city a couple days ago, the celebrations for the Night of the Thirteen Moogles were all cancelled. Fear not, for people have decided to hold mini-celebrations over the city today to compensate for what's been missed. It's not that much, but there are stands and banquets, especially by the 9nth and 11th District where you can find all sort of food and especially candies: tons of candies that were, unfortunately, not used on the 31st of October. But at least it's a paradise for children who come and go with their hands full of candies.

Oh, and there are a lot of Kupo Nuts as well. Though, most Moogles do not seem to be in particularly high spirits, so they're pretty neglected, for the first and probably last time.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially for newcomers. A 20:00, a BLitzball game will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing the Teams of Esdham and Aqures. Earlier at 16:00, a few groups of Triple Triad players are playing: one before Mognet Office in the ninth district next to the celebrations, another near the Blitzball Stadium in the 10th District. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, especially now that Mognet just started again after a closed down period. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline. It's in the process of re-opening after having been closed for most of past month, and the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

Zelda nodded as a sad smile spread across her lips. "I'm afraid its true either way." She tried to be gentle but she felt like it was better to accept things as they were. "I believe that anyone can become a hero, they just need something to protect and fight for."

She shook her head trying to reorganize her thoughts. "This is a strange place but they do have a school here. I know it isn't like home but if you don't want to fall behind you can always enroll. We are still looking for a way home."

"I was applying to transfer schools anyway," Nanami said. She added, "My home school has a sister campus in Amsterdam, so I thought I'd see what living in another country was like."

The last bit was said quickly and nervously; Nanami hadn't practiced the lie, and wasn't good at lying to cover her own ass.

It was a noticeable lie but Zelda wasn't going to point it out. When Nanami was ready she would trust others with her secrets until then it wasn't Zelda's place to pry. She gave the girl a nod with a gentle smile spread across her lips. "Well I would count this place as another country. Hopefully it will be a helpful experience."

"Yeah. I've never really travelled alone before."

But it was what she had wanted. A chance for a new break where she wasn't known. Just, she could have done with a bit more 'normal' weirdness. A new language and weird food was about what she'd expect. Not some kind of quest that seemed to involve even more people than the Duels.

"If you have any troubles or questions feel free to ask."

Zelda knew it was hard getting used to a new place and she wanted to offer support where she could. She might not be a hero but she was still the descendant of the goddess who was seen as a pillar of support for her people. She didn't want to leave anyone who needed help.

"Of course," Nanami said. The odds of her feeling like any question was stupid and would make Zelda look down on her were pretty good.

Hari seemed to pick up on that. "Do you have any general advice for newcomers, Miss?"

Zelda took a moment to think. "It depends, its different for everyone. I suggest you hold onto the small things that remind you of home. Otherwise its just getting used to life here. Housing is provided but I would suggest you go to school or find employment."

She figured it was better to have something to pass the time.

"Someone else mentioned school, but they really let girls my age work?" Nanami sounded skeptical of this.

"Yes, I can only imagine that some worlds don't have schools." She was open minded for someone who hasn't truly been to another world before now but ever since she had been taken from her loftwing she has left a tiny place in her mind for doubt.

Nanami thought about this. "Maybe in the past, when everyone died young, they didn't send kids to school. If some worlds never left the past..."

Nanami's grasp of history was pretty shaky.

"It is similar to that yes. Though I wouldn't just think of it in terms of past and future. There are many worlds and those worlds are all different. The worlds themselves can shape the populaces progression." She has been studying a lot of things since she woke up here and one of them was a worlds development.

She found it curious that her own world had tools that this one didn't just because of the necessity for them. While this world had things she would never dream of needing in Skyloft.

"You sound like you've been through this before," Nanami said, trying to hide her jealousy. It was normal for older people to know things she didn't, but maybe people had these kinds of thoughts all the time.

"Not exactly but since waking up here I have spent a lot of time in the library trying to research these things."

It has taken practice but she tries to keep her mind open to possibilities.

"Huh," Nanami said. She wouldn't have thought to look in the library. For one, what sort of library even had books on things like that? "Of course, there's a library."

"If you ever need assistance I would be happy to help." Zelda didn't consider herself the best fighter so instead she poured herself into her books.

"The library has a lot of materials in it and I know a few of the other heroes use it for their school work."

"Just... normal books, right? Not like weird stuff?" Nanami asked. Because while she didn't mind studying in a normal library if she had to, she was getting tired of weird stuff already.

"Yes just normal books." She understood the girls question but she couldn't help but smile at it.

"oh, good. I mean, what else do you find in a library?" Nanami was suddenly wondering if she had asked a stupid question, and trying to pass it off as a joke.

"They have a lot of good books. I've mostly been reading books about this world and its history. I figured since I'm stuck here I might as well learn more about this place." It was strange for her but she was trying her best.

"Like why they think we're Heroes of Light?" Nanami asked.

"There isn't anything very clear on that topic. There are a lot of old legends and different accounts of things but that is it."

Her expression fell slightly but she tried her best to keep her smile.

"And people believe that we're them just based on that?" Nanami asked. "There's plenty of stories back home that are just the things parents tell to children." Not that her parents had told those stories. Just, you know. Parents. In general.

Granted, when you wake up with a magic crystal and a sword, things might seem a bit more normal. Something weird had been going on at her old school, and Nanami hadn't really thought about how weird until she started to really look at things, and how everyone was acting.

Maybe she could believe in fairy tales, but Nanami had stopped finding them comforting.

"Maybe I'll read the legends for myself. Since it would take a while to have you just tell me."

"Actually there are a lot of people who don't believe in the legends and then we are a bother. Luckily those who run the city are still willing to help us out since we've been taken from our homes." It was a complicated dynamic and Zelda wasn't sure if Nanami wanted to know all of the details concerning the politics related to the heroes. Zelda usually asks others who have talked to city officials then to ask herself.

There was so much going on that they didn't know about and only time would tell if it is good or bad.

Nanami considered this. She didn't want to be a Hero, but she also didn't want to be some kind of pariah just because she showed up somewhere she didn't want to go. "Well, of course they should. We didn't ask to come here." It's not our fault if we're a bother."

"Yes but as I'm sure you can tell, it's a little complicated."

She smiled at the young girl hoping that she has been able to help in some way.
