Intro Log || Third Time's the Charm

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of November. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. For the first time since it all began, it seems they are the first batch not to have any sort of problems: small miracles?

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo." Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- And you do have your Crystal too, great news!

If asked, the Moogles will mention some "disastrophic" event that happened last month and involved disappearing crystals, heroes of light falling sick and killing each other. Sure sounds like a lovely place to be in! Thankfully it's all over now. Right?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you about how they fiercely battled each other past month. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Celebrations
— Anytime —
The 'Halloween' decorations are long gone now, but given the impending death threat that floated over the city a couple days ago, the celebrations for the Night of the Thirteen Moogles were all cancelled. Fear not, for people have decided to hold mini-celebrations over the city today to compensate for what's been missed. It's not that much, but there are stands and banquets, especially by the 9nth and 11th District where you can find all sort of food and especially candies: tons of candies that were, unfortunately, not used on the 31st of October. But at least it's a paradise for children who come and go with their hands full of candies.

Oh, and there are a lot of Kupo Nuts as well. Though, most Moogles do not seem to be in particularly high spirits, so they're pretty neglected, for the first and probably last time.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially for newcomers. A 20:00, a BLitzball game will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing the Teams of Esdham and Aqures. Earlier at 16:00, a few groups of Triple Triad players are playing: one before Mognet Office in the ninth district next to the celebrations, another near the Blitzball Stadium in the 10th District. And of course, they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, especially now that Mognet just started again after a closed down period. They can also visit Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline. It's in the process of re-opening after having been closed for most of past month, and the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

She took a deep breath as the memory came flashing back. "I was in my coffee shop and then I fell asleep. I had a dream and then woke up here earlier today." It was painful but she was trying her best to keep her emotions back. Even still, she was never good at hiding how she felt.

"I'm not the person you are thinking of. I'm sorry." Yuna was ready to leave. It hurt to much and she didn't think she could hold it back. Celes flew up next to her and sat on her shoulder wrapping his little arms awkwardly around her head. "HEY! Why you asking such silly questions, kupo? She just said she woke up!"

Her story didn't sound any different than anyone else's. The other Yuna hadn't mentioned a coffee shop, but who was he to say what was true and what wasn't?

"Oh, but you..." He frowned, trying to figure this out. He knew others had seen dopplegangers of people they knew here. Was this something similar? He looked at her, and then her moogle and then nodded sadly. "Sorry. There's another Yuna I met when I arrived. She looks like you but not quite." It was the little details. Also the clothes.

"So...um...how do you know me then?"

"Another Yuna?" She has heard that there was someone else with that name but not she wondered if it was her from another time or universe. She has seen it happen before but its never happened to her. Yuna lightly tapped her cheek as she tried to think about what this could mean.

Her eyes snap up at his question pulling her out of her thoughts. A sad smile played across her lips as she thought of an answer. "I guess it was someone who looked like you named Cloud."

"Uh, yeah, I guess." Cloud is thoroughly confused, but he's not fooled either. He can tell that all of this is bothering her and it's not her fault she's wound up in this situation. He remembered what Luke had said about visiting other worlds before this one. It might be a similar situation.

"Look, uh, why don't we start over? I'm Cloud." He held out his hand in offering."

"Lets go with Yunie then." She took his hand and tried her best to smile. It was still a lot to take in and she wondered just how many people would she recognize here. Would any of them know her?

Despite being in his company she felt very alone. "It's nice to meet you."

"Yunie, sure." It'll take a bit to remember, but he'll do his best. Talking to people who are something beyond twins is a new concept, and the two Yunas aren't as distinct as the two Genesis.

"Nice to meet you to...so um...what's your home world like? It's similar to this one but not quite the same too, right?" He meant as compared to Gaia more than the other Yuna's Spira.

"It seems that way but I haven't seen very much of it." Yuna lightly scratched her cheek trying to think of her own world. Spira felt so far away from her and she wasn't sure if she would even fit in if she did go back.

"Well, we have chocobos. And the spell names and some of the monsters are the same. Some of the other heroes have never even seen a chocobo before coming here. One of them kept talking about horses but..." The only things he'd ever seen were monstrous, not tame.

He didn't want to depend too much on what little he knew about the other Yuna, but he figured it was a decent conversation starter.

"Oh? I've seen a horse once but well.. it was most of a horse. They are pretty cute. I don't have them in my world either. It will be nice to see a chocobo again." She smiled, getting noticeably excited at the topic change.

"Most of a...what? What was it? Some kind of monster?" He coughed and got himself back on track, "I've been working at the chocobo stables just outside of town. If you need one you can come to us."

"And no, it wasn't a monster. It was a horse." Yuna waved a hand in the air.

"I might stop by." Then again she might not. She didn't know if she wanted to see all the things that reminded her of home. She took a deep breath and then took a step closer to Cloud.

"So, Cloud, how long have you been here?"

Cloud smiled at the affirmative response at least. He was a little opposed to working there at first, but now he was finding himself enjoying his time at the stables when he wasn't out fighting or adventuring. It was relaxing.

"A few months now. Three or four I think?"

"So long?"

Yuna tilted her head to the as she laced her fingers behind her back.

"Guess I should plan to stay for awhile then."

Celes flew up next to her and lightly tapped her on the shoulder. He was cool with just chilling while she talked to people but he wanted to get in his two cents too. "You got a house here, kupo."

Cloud nods in agreement with her moogle. "Yeah. That's one of the nice things about this place is that we all got someplace to stay. You'll still need a job if you want spending money beyond the essentials though."

He then gestures behind him, "Oh, and this is Mako by the way. What's your moogle named?"

Celes flew up not giving Yuna the chance to introduce him. "I'm Celes, kupo! and She is going to be a Blitzball player! I already decide it kupo." He crossed his arms and Yuna can't help but smile at him.

She looked up at Cloud. "Looks like its been decided."

"Ah, good luck with that then." He glanced off in the direction of the stadium. "This place is a lot like Gaia, but Blitzball isn't something we had back home. It's...interesting. I'm still not sure how the players do it."

"My world actually has Blitzball. I used to love going to watch the games."

Yuna's smile grew into a fond grin as she thought back to watching Chappu, Wakka, and Tidus play.

"Really? So how do the players breathe underwater? Do they have gear for that?" They can't possibly be holding their breath that long! There's no way!

"In my world they just learn to hold their breaths but I don't know what its like here." She turned to look at Celes as if expecting an answer.

He smiled, "Of course the great players do that but they have ways to help others breath underwater."

"For a whole five minute period? Wow. How do you even train for that?" The lungs didn't quite strike him as a muscle that just needed to be worked on. He gave the moogle a nod at its reply. It made sense, but most of the players were still going around without any sort of mask. It was impressive but a little frightening. His face wrenched a bit as he imagined drowning in that arena.

Yuna's smiled widened. "I can hold my breath for 7 minutes. It just takes practice."

Drowning was never fun but when Yuna practiced she had powers over water so it never scared her like it might others. "If you get hurt they stop the game and let you leave the sphere."

Cloud just stares at her in disbelief. He doesn't want to say she's lying but that shouldn't...that shouldn't be physically possible!

"I...uh...that's good I guess."

Yuna didn't know what could possibly going through his head and though the topic was distracting for a while she quickly thought back to her new situation. For a moment it felt as if she was somewhere else but she couldn't think like that here.

She stopped in place and gave Cloud a sad smile. "Hey. Thank you for everything but I think I should go." It was her way of saying that she wanted to be alone.

She didn't need an excuse to leave, but Cloud half caught the meaning anyway. He wasn't the type to hang on to someone longer than they wanted to talk.

"Okay. Take care. If you need any help the rest of us are here." Not just him. The other "heroes" were all in this together. They had to watch out for each other.

"Thank you."

It meant a lot to hear but she needed time on her own to think. Celes floated quietly by her side waiting for Cloud to be out of ear range before talking.
