The girl's breath hitched at once, hearing the memory the name had brought up. Though they had spoken of his family a few times, the melodist felt as if she should have remembered such an important detail, that it was shared with someone else he seemingly held dear. There was no taking back that unsolicited reminder, moreso now that he seemed to have given his blessing.

Still, the girl couldn't help the feelings of uncertainty she held knowing that it was his last memory of that person, shifting her gaze from the cadet to the chocobo chirping softly, bobbing her head as if she were trying to gain their attention again.

"Are you sure...?" If this was the name they were going to bestow, she wanted to be absolutely certain that he was all right with it. The last thing she wanted to do was cause him unnecessary strife over something that could still be prevented.

The question extended not only to that, but to his promise to tell her that story. If that was what he wanted then she would of course listen, but if he wanted to keep it then that was fine, too. Much as she would like to hear it, he didn't owe her anything as she reached down to start stroking the bird anew.
