Monster Arena Triple Threat
Who: The Barkeep and anyone who wants to participate in this quest.
Where: The Plains of Sorrow
When: March 10th
What: Time to take on a T-Rex, a Behemoth, and a Long Gui at the same time. The old man at the Monster Arena will give us some valuable crystals if we succeed.
Warnings: Violence
[There wasn't much time to dawdle. The Calamity was back, but several of the Heroes had found a way to slow - and sometimes stop - the crystallization. The Barkeep couldn't stand to the side while his new home was in danger.
This explains why the portly middle aged man who preferred to stay home and tend the house was marching out to the middle of the wildlands of Mysidia armed only with a leather vest under his Seer robes and a new staff.]
Long as we make enough noise, we should get at least one of those runnin' at us. How about we split up and go lookin' for each of those monsters? Might as well meet up here and take 'em on at the same time.

Re: feel free to skip me a bit!
[leaping into the air, he put away Caliburn and began muttering something.]
Let's see if my ninja's up to par -- Ninjutsu! Lightning!
[And the monsters would be greeted by bolts of lightning raining down.]
Ha! Guess I'm a regular Joe Musashi!

With the casting of Haste finished on her allies she turned to the monsters, casting Slow on each of them in turn. With any lucky it wouldn't simply make it easier to avoid their foes but also hinder any spellcasting from the Behemoth.]

Jade's Regen doesn't fizzle on Jack, but the spell takes an extra second to take hold, as if it was getting through some interference before the same glow surrounds him as everyone else. As he's towards the back of the group, he only takes minimal damage from the Quake, but he has to focus on keeping his footing, and keeping the effect of his dance going.
Jack is high enough level that he can keep two Dance effects out at once, so he can keep their defenses down while he tries Forbidden Dance towards the Behemoth. A random status effect, if he can get it to generate Silence, that would be perfect. Unfortunately, the dance generates Stone, which the Behemoth shakes off, instead of getting petrified.

Perfect!
[The beasts are far too close to his liking, and as much as he'd prefer to blow them all up again, that attack took a lot of power from him. Jade was right, it was best to focus on the Behemoth for now.]
Keep goin' at it, I'm gettin' to it! [He jogs backwards for a while, watching the fight carefully and grabbing an Ether from the inside of his robes.]

She disappears in a flash of smoke, using the smoke bomb technique and then reappears just behind the towering creature who will now be her target. Her eyes quickly asses it, having fought these sorts of things before made it easier and quicker to aim for the Behemoth's joints.
With a skilled flick of her wrists the blades embed into the beast and against better judgement Yuffie lands on it's back hoping to retrieve her daggers and strike again. She's safe from the Behemoth but not from the heroes attacking it. It's best to trust that she can get out of the way.]

Clutching his axe tighter he crouches to brace himself against the Quake. It shakes him up a bit, but as the tremors pass he summons the dark energy within to his control. He can feel Soul Eater eating away at him but he pushes the pain into his hands and then into his axeblade. A swing of his weapon and a black wave shoots out at all three monsters.
He only allows himself a moment to catch his breath and then runs further into the melee. Hopefully his attack has kept cover for the spellcasters in the group, and if not he'll see to that the next chance he gets. And if they all try to attack him hopefully he can run some horns and fangs and feet into each other.]
Come on! Come on this way! I'll take all of you!
[He hopes he sounds as cool as he's trying to be.]

Alright, time for a little head smashing, Sonic style!
[With that, he quickly curled up and went into a spin before launching himself at the creature's head with a Homing Attack, striking it in the schnozz.]

[With the constant barrage of attacked, the Behemoth was having difficulty concentrating on an Ultima spell, but enough was enough. When Sonic hit it, it roared and charged straight at the nearest group of Heroes.
While that was going on, the Long Gui took the opportunity to find a stray, distracted Hero and step on them.
The Barkeep, for example.]
no subject
Which is when he notices what the Long Gui is up to.]
Move!
[It's all he has time to warn really before he's moving. His clone leads, dashing to help get The Barkeep out of immediate danger while he himself goes in to try to get a good hit to either distract or cripple the beast.]
no subject
Dangit...!
[The Long Gui continues the deadly descent of the foot, aware that the Barkeep has left the dangerzone, but it hopes to get another kill as compensation.]
Get outta there! [He's lying on the ground with no chance of grabbing the clone - though he is unaware that the real Malik is just as safe as the rest of the party - so he resorts to Telekinesis in an attempt to save him.]

In most situations, casting Meteor with allies so close to the enemy would be a bad idea. Right now, however... The Long Gui is so bulky in size that most of the meteorites crash on its back, only a few hitting the ground instead. In fact, the monster is inadvertently shielding its would-be victims.]
Come now, pay attention! Letting something that big sneak up on you isn't very-- [And it's about now that the very angry Long Gui realizes where the burning meteorites are coming from.] Ah.

[Yuffie feels her footing on Behemonth's back shake as it charges forward. She quickly moves and twist her daggers painfully from the creatures back. Her heel digs into the creatures back as she blinks up at the top of it's head.
Her blades sink into the creatures forehead, adding more pain after Sonic's hit.]
Got ya!

The use of the clones was a well executed trick, but the Barkeep is still a bit too deep into the fray for her own satisfaction. She's about to try using Vanish to try to scoop up the man and move him further from the monster's path when she watches Jade's own display.
Better to do something that helps end this battle sooner, and something that will catch more attention as well. Raising her hands she focuses on what he did, copying his movements and using the power of Imitate to bring down another swarm of meteorites on the turtle.][Mary can't help but smile as she watches Malik leap into action. It's such an honor to be there watching her new Mentor fight. To be in the presence of one of the founding members of the Brotherhood.

[Sonic found himself bouncing off of the beast as the Behemoth went into its wild charge. He quickly went for Caliburn, burying its blade into its back so he can hang on.]
Oy! Yuffie! Try to aim it towards the big slow thing!
no subject
Hearing Sonic, he looks up at where Yuffie has taken control of the Behemoth and grins.]
That's it! Keep it going! Bring it over here!
[He raises his blood stained axe over his head, waving it around as if it were a Black Flag. The flourishes should do a good job of attracting the attention of the monsters and make a nice target of the hack happy Hero.]
Come on! This way!
[He runs towards the Long Gui and keeps as close to its feet as he dares, still making a scene to lure the Behemoth and T-Rex over.]
Everyone! Prepare to attack together! We can bring them down at once!
[He just hopes everyone can hear him. The power that On Board will give him will be at its best if they attack in unison.]
(ooc: I'm assuming that's how On Board works. Either way that's his next move.)
