Kaji is incredibly surprised that he is able to draw the bow so easily, and he just knows where to put the arrow. The Buer swoops towards Ib, but it gets knocked off-course when it suddenly has an arrow sticking out of its wing-joint.

Kaji readies another arrow and aims carefully. The Buers flutter like bats, which makes them harder to hit than he would like. The one with an arrow sticking out of it is flying a little lopsided now. At least it got deterred away from Ib, but now it is much more interested in Kaji. In response to his attack, the creature looks at him with its single eye, which starts to glow brightly.
