Dancing All Night
Who: Everyone
What: A slumber party at the Observatory so the Heroes can experience something nice for once.
Where: Old Observatory
When: Night of May 12th - Morning of May 13th
Warnings: If your character comes, there's a huge change they'll catch the sickness from someone else who's infected but doesn't show the symptoms. Duster will have many regrets in the future.
[All those that had been invited to the Observatory tonight would see all the windows on the bottom floors lit up before sundown. Duster and Zelda had spent most of today setting up bedding and rearranging the furniture in preparation, and then Duster had to run back home to change into his new suit.
There were multiple rooms with lights set up. One has a corner turned into a makeshift stage where musicians could perform. Two had tables of food. Several rooms were left alone for partygoers to have private moments (Tamekichi suggested that). There was also a box of beer bottles as a sad attempt at a bar, with an empty bottle marking the area where party games were to be played, Spin the Bottle included (all that was Tamekichi's suggestion, too).
Duster greets the arrivals at the door with a soft smile, wearing a periwinkle suit, a white dress shirt, a red shit, and black dress shoes.]
Welcome to Club Ixen! It's time we had some fun.

[Rialynn raises her eyebrows. She's never heard of such a term before.]
So, that means you find him places to perform and negotiate the prices? Or do you find him other people to play with?

[He shrugs like it doesn't make a difference to him either way, even though he can overhear Duster with another musician, taking about potential bandmates. The bassist doesn't actually seem to need his input, like, at all. Santa doesn't know what he's really doing here.]
What about you? What's a girl like you doin' in a place like this? [The best defense in social interact is a good offense.]
no subject
What do you mean? I just responded to the letter he sent out. It sounded like fun, and we all had a pretty rough time last month.
[She has a pretty full plate, so she starts sampling some of what she's got.]
Duster and I are friends, if that's what you meant. Both of us are musicians, so...
no subject
So, what? You hopin' to make some music together? If you know what he means.
no subject
[She's not going to go into details, though, it's just too personal. And Rialynn might be a little more naive than the average person, but she does know what he means. The corner of her mouth quirks.]
Just the regular kind of music. Nothing special.
no subject
Huh. Hopefully it's somethin' special, otherwise we're not gonna be able to sell tickets.

[Rialynn probably doesn't know that the whole plot was meant to traumatize and demoralize them. She was shaken up, but she hasn't really told anyone why, and she's pretty sure Barkeep and Ramza didn't notice. They just thought she was a good actress.]
Was it some sort of zombie sewer? That's crazy!
[
He didn't mean 'corpses and shit' in a literal way, Rialynn. She picks at one of the cheese cubes on her plate, unsure how to respond.]You're planning on some sort of money-raising concert, then?
no subject
Sure, we'll go with that. Totally crazy.
[Probably better to move on to talking about the musical efforts, to keep from ranting about sub-par puzzles and an astounding lack of high-tech number bracelets.]
Depends on whether or not everyone is good enough to rope in a crowd. 'Free' concerts are never actually free, and we'll waste more money than we'll raise unless it's done properly.
no subject
[She shifts her weight slightly.]
I don't mind helping out now and again if I'm around to do it, but you shouldn't really count on me, if that makes sense.
no subject
[He's not shy about saying it, even though he really has no say in the band. Duster's too nice to people to tell it like it is, so it falls to him to weed out the half-assed musicians from the ones who'd actually wanna do the thing.]
no subject
[It's not being wishy-washy. She already knows whether she'll be there or not, it's not like she can't make up her mind. In fact, she's pretty decisive. But she has a feeling he's trying to goad her into arguing so that she will join out of spite. Better just let him win this one.]
Sure. Wishy-washy. We can go with that. Anyway, I'm gonna just...head out to the party.
[She gestures with her plate, and the rest of her follows that plate.]
