Dancing All Night

Who: Everyone
What: A slumber party at the Observatory so the Heroes can experience something nice for once.
Where: Old Observatory
When: Night of May 12th - Morning of May 13th
Warnings: If your character comes, there's a huge change they'll catch the sickness from someone else who's infected but doesn't show the symptoms. Duster will have many regrets in the future.

[All those that had been invited to the Observatory tonight would see all the windows on the bottom floors lit up before sundown. Duster and Zelda had spent most of today setting up bedding and rearranging the furniture in preparation, and then Duster had to run back home to change into his new suit.

There were multiple rooms with lights set up. One has a corner turned into a makeshift stage where musicians could perform. Two had tables of food. Several rooms were left alone for partygoers to have private moments (Tamekichi suggested that). There was also a box of beer bottles as a sad attempt at a bar, with an empty bottle marking the area where party games were to be played, Spin the Bottle included (all that was Tamekichi's suggestion, too).

Duster greets the arrivals at the door with a soft smile, wearing a periwinkle suit, a white dress shirt, a red shit, and black dress shoes.

Welcome to Club Ixen! It's time we had some fun.

Wow, three?

[Rialynn is surprised. She can't even manage falling in love with one person. The thought of three is staggering. Don't mind them, they're off having their own conversation outside of the game at this point.]

Are any of them here in Crystallis?
unyieldingspirit: (just disappointed)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-02 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[she ducks her head a little at that, smiling a little awkwardly.]

It's not that unusual, is it?

[they weren't all at the same time, too, though her feelings about Thancred and Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn did overlap.

She brings her knees up to wrap her arms around them, ears falling.]

… Does it count if they don't remember you?

[But she shakes her head after a few moments, picking herself up.]

What about you, though? Someone must have caught your eye too, I'm sure.
rialynn: (I'm not falling for that)

[personal profile] rialynn 2016-06-02 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't remember? You mean doppelgangers? Or someone that fell into crystal stasis and came back out with amnesia?

[By now, Rialynn is painfully familiar with their existence. As the conversation starts to turn toward Rialynn, she artfully pushes it away again.]

No, not at the moment. Sorry!

[She's not really sorry.]
unyieldingspirit: (just disappointed)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-03 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[she shakes her head, ears flicking back for a moment, looking awkward.]

It's… a little of both, I suppose. Though it was not that he woke up

[she looks disappointed- perhaps as much for the lack of distraction as anything.]

No? No one at all? That's a shame; I'm sure there'd be someone who'd well appreciate your heart.
rialynn: (You're a jerk)

[personal profile] rialynn 2016-06-06 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well. Maybe! Anyway...

[She'd be more agreeable to the notion if she felt like she had some degree of control, but when decisions of that nature are made without her input, romance takes on a pretty scary face. All the more reason to talk to K'pandolu about her own problems instead of Rialynn's. She jerks her head to indicate they should leave the game for now and talk in private, since it seems like a personal sort of thing.]

Let's go to one of the side rooms. Tell me about this guy.
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-17 10:02 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps in time, then.

[look K'pandolu met Lady Lisette of House Valentione and took to trying to help lovers like she was meant to (despite the actual details being kind of a mess), she is all for love. Still- that hasn't involved so much of her own feelings, so she fidgets with her hands for a few moments before nodding.]

All right.

[she casts a look at the rest of the room before moving out.]

So… where should I start? Where we met?
rialynn: (You don't say!)

[personal profile] rialynn 2016-06-19 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Or perhaps never. Romance is uncomfortable, and she's pretty sure it would wind up being harmful to her career if she starts growing biased toward a certain type of relationship that's unique only to her.]

[But she'll always love other people's stories of love, and retell them whenever possible so long as it doesn't wind up causing trouble for the original owner of the story.]

That would be great!

[Rialynn picks one of the many mattresses laid out and sits down, reclining on her hands.]

Was it love at first sight, or did it work up gradually?
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-19 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[K'pandolu settles herself with legs crossed, hands in her lap. Her tail curls around her, the tip twitching every so often.]

It was hardly that. Oh- he's handsome, and he speaks well, but- my mother and aunts had warned me that there could be traps hidden behind honeyed words. And a fresh face in town- and Ul'dah, at that- can well be an easy mark.

[she pauses for a moment, and huffs, shaking herself.]

I was working on making a name for myself, though, and I was tasked with tracking a person down- a lady of the Ul'dahn court, in fact. That was how I met him- he'd been looking for her as well. I didn't think very much of him then, but… voidsent appeared, and we fought them off. He… wasn't bad, actually.
rialynn: (AMINALS)

[personal profile] rialynn 2016-06-19 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[It takes Rialynn a moment to puzzle through the unfamiliar terms. Ul'dah must be a race or nationality of people. And voidsent sound to be supernatural and dangerous creatures. She nods, and her grin crinkles the corners of her eyes.]

A man with a talent for combat can be somewhat alluring, particularly to those who are also handy in a fight. What happened after that?
unyieldingspirit: (until the end and then beyond)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-24 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[she nods slowly, ears flicking.]

… He's capable of some quite graceful moves. I, ah… [perhaps this is a little embarrassing, but- now that she's started-] I've tried to perform some of them.

Well- I [passed out, but that doesn't really lend itself to the story] had a vision, which was rather distracting- and contained some information he thought better to follow up on sooner rather than later. So we parted ways at that point, and I didn't see him again until getting into some trouble with a golem.
rialynn: (Spoony Bard)

[personal profile] rialynn 2016-06-24 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's some sort of monster?

[Rialynn's heard stories of similar creatures, puppeted by mad wizards, but they're just stories. Such things have never existed in her world as far as she's aware. She holds her legs loosely, curious about the rest of the story.]

And after that?
unyieldingspirit: (until the end and then beyond)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-06-25 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[she nods]

They're creatures of clay and stone, brought to life by magic.

[she links her fingers together.]

I had another set of visions- of his past, points between five years past and my meeting him. That told me there was more to him than the flirty words… That there were matters he took seriously.

We were a little occupied, though- I'd just helped defend a man who was marked by one of the Syndicate- one of the most powerful men in Ul'dah- so we parted ways again. He'd recognised that power, though… or that's what I think when I look back on it, at least.
