[ Naturally it should be a typical day for Selen. She went to work and she did her shift and went home. Particularly throughout the week the process was getting a bit rougher for her. She didn't know why but her body was starting to feel heavy. She was also feeling even more exhausted than she usually was. It wasn't the excuse of age because Selen was pretty sturdy even though she was over half a century old. It's not that. She knew something strange was going on when more people at her work were coming up with the same symptoms. She didn't expect herself to end up with them though.
She might have been getting sick for the first time in forever. Naturally that shouldn't be an issue but today, she was looking awfully pale that her complexion looked really pasty. She was walking slowly with a few things in her hands but her head was starting to throb with pain and warm up. She stumble some. Eventually she almost topples over into someone. She's not sure who but she's apologetic all the same. ]
Oh-- my apologies. It seems like I'm under the weather.

[ While Selen suffered from the sickness, Mikleo was running around the city playing doctor. He was trying his best to gather medicine and other things he thought were helpful for anyone that got sick. He didn't know how to stave off the sickness but sometime in the middle of the month, he realized that it was a contagious sickness that was getting many people. Today was one of those days where he was finally noticing that Edna was coming down with the symptoms and he made it into the city from their home to gather healthy things to feed the Earth Seraph.
She was being stubborn about it so he was sort of agitated that he was starting to notice the change in her demeanor. Of course, he didn't really bring it up with Edna. At least, not until tonight. Right now he was making his round to check for people and see if they were okay and gather materials so he could go home. He also sent Muse out to scope the city and see how bad the epidemic had spread. It would give him an idea of how he could handle everything to some point. It's definitely not something he could do on his own.
He was in such a rush that he bumps into people by accident, knocking over his bags and some other things that he had bought. ]
I'm sorry for bumping into you.
[ He replied sheepishly as he starts to pick up the fallen items. ]

Re: Mikleo
[ He replied softly as she helped him gather his groceries. Eventually they were able to get back to their feet and Mikleo was thankful for her kindness. She was dressed a little differently from what he's seen around the world but it's not something too bizarre. If anything it seemed practical to a certain degree. ]
I'm fine. What about you?
[ He mused giving her a slight once over to see if she had caught the illness or not. It didn't seem like she did though which was a relief. He didn't know what was going on but people were all falling victim to this sickness that no one has any idea about. ]
Re: Mikleo
I fight monsters on the plains nearly every day. I do not think this will even result in a bruise.
[At least she's not insulted by his inquiry. It was polite, and well intended. She seems healthy enough at first glance, but that's not terribly unusual. Plenty of heroes seem to have been skipped by the plague, while others were hit, and hit hard.]
[Once they've gathered his things, she rises fluidly to her feet.]
These are many groceries for just one person. You are looking after your friends?

[ Mikleo as polite as ever as he meets Ellie's gaze when she smiled at him. It was a general question of concern really. He didn't want her to be hurt because of him. He'd rather try to fix it before it goes south. ]
Yes, I suppose you can say that. With the sickness going around, more and more people are falling victim to the disease itself. It's frustrating that there isn't much I can do at the moment.

[Ellie makes a thoughtful noise, lips pursed as she slowly nods in seeming agreement. That would be frustrating. What's more, this is having an effect she wasn't warned about: even those who remain healthy, that are considered worth keeping around as Heroes, are being dragged down by the deadweights. Mikleo should be out exploring and finding answers, not playing nursemaid to heroes who sit on their rear ends and expect revelation to fall into their laps.]
If it is very serious, perhaps they should be checked into a hospital. Only Heroes are falling ill, yes? You run the risk of becoming sick yourself if you take on all of these responsibilities alone.
[She reaches to take up one of the bags.]
Allow me to assist you at least.

I don't suppose any hospital can help. I checked multiple times and they were all at a loss. I'm working with a man named Jade Curtiss on that regard in hopes of finding a cure of sorts.
[ He replied with a brief smile. ]
Thank you for your concern, it's appreciated but someone has to do it and I have yet to be affected. I'm hoping it won't in any case.

[Honestly she's a little disgusted that no one has volleyed to move the sick people into one area. She hadn't planned for so many to stubbornly remain at home and demand other Heroes to care for them. This is not what she planned, and it makes her angry.]
I know who Jade is, yes. He is a gifted alchemist if I recall. Certainly it won't be long until he is able to fashion an antidote or vaccine.

[ He replied to her question. Though it may have sound cruel on her end to state such a thing, he understood where she was coming from. Some people don't really have a choice but be be ridden and not everyone there was taking care of them against their wills. Take Mikleo for example. He's doing everything because he chose to. ]
Yes, and I think we can rely on his expertise on the matter. I think the best thing right now is to ensure that the sick don't get any sicker than they are while trying to find ways to prevent it from spreading. Quarantining is out of the question, seeing as I stated, there aren't enough people to do that.

[No seriously, she wants to know. The only possible way for a Hero to get sick is by being around another sick Hero, or fighting the behemoth. Moogles and normal people can't be carriers of the disease because they don't have crystals. She frowns, concerned, but not for the reasons Mikleo might think. But if they're all refusing to quarantine themselves, then they probably deserve to be sick for behaving so selfishly. Ellie nods once as though to agree with him, then sighs.]
It seems I chose a poor time to return from my hunts. I can fight deadly creatures with a sword, this is my specialty. But I do not know how to fight an illness.

[ He replies to her. He wants to know himself but he really can't do anything about this whole ordeal to be honest. It is becoming more of a mystery than he wanted. If he can solve this faster he wouldn't have to worry about his friends as much as he did. Honestly, all of this is putting him on edge. ]
It's tricky but usually a lot of rest and medicine helps. However, in this case, there isn't medication that can be of assistance at the moment.
