Event || Cluedo

Summary: Catch-all log for the Cluedo Event. If you would like to pursue investigations and play out the fall-out of the Cluedo events, this is the post for you. Please refer to the second OOC Post for the setting and what there is to be played. Another Log will be posted at a later date to play the murders.

"Because you should have known better than that," Rukia chided, her voice firm but not angry. "Especially with a murderer moving about. Even an experienced shinigami like myself was not immune, as you see."

So it wasn't as if Rukia were perfect either. She'd thought it would be fine to move about at sunset, as the murders didn't seem to take place until dark. That was incorrect, as she'd discovered.

"If you wish to train, ask me, or one of the others. There's no shortage of us who would be willing to help you. There's the training school as well," she pointed out. "I'm relieved your injury isn't serious."

Rukia's tone reminded Selphie of one of her first instructors when she'd been learning how to use her nunchaku. The shinigami's words made perfect sense to the brunette as she sat down next to her friend. The mention of the murderer however had Selphie's face draining of colour.

"Right," she murmured thoughtfully before sitting down on the bed. "I can't be a dumb kid forever. I'm gonna be eighteen soon after all. I should probably see about getting my hands on a nunchaku though. I'm getting a good grasp on the basics of sword handling but if I'm gonna help with this Palitutu business then I need to have my best gear handy."

Selphie shifted her weight to look Rukia dead on. "When you're up to it, would you mind training with me?"

"You're not 'dumb,' Selphie," Rukia corrected gently. "Impulsive, perhaps. But I would not consider you stupid by any stretch." She smiled as the younger girl sat beside her, listening. She had a fierce fighting spirit, and Rukia respected the desire to fight and protect. Her heart was in the right place, and in the end, that was what mattered the most.

She laid a hand on Selphie's wrist, her smile warming. "I would like nothing better. I'll retrieve you at once after I've managed to settle my affairs." There were people likely to be worried about her, and duties she needed to fulfill, but she could easily find room in her schedule to build Selphie's swordplay skills. After all, she reminded her very much of a certain young friend back home who didn't want to be left behind either.

Selphie nodded resolutely. Selphie was impulsive and could be down right reckless at times but the perky brunette knew that you had to screw up to grow up. "Sounds good to me and... yeah, it wasn't the same without you around so... you're probably gonna see the others around at some point or another."

The girl rose from the bed and grinned at Rukia. "But things should be better now! I'll let everyone know that you're back."

"Thank you," Rukia inclined her head with a smile, folding her hands neatly on her lap. "Yuri already knows. The fool fell asleep in the crystal room."

Her expression was fond and cheerful, however. She'd found the sight of a sleeping swordsman and his dog to actually be quite touching. Surely he must have known that she would wake up eventually. Either way, it was sweet of him to worry.

"One more thing," Rukia added. "Of all the people living in our home, you are the one I know the least. I would like to remedy that, when we're able."

"He was pretty beside himself after it happened," Selphie admitted. "I think we all were. It wasn't an easy time in the house."

Selphie agreed and nodded her head with an excited look on her face. "That sounds like a plan to me! Oh yeah, there's someone I'd like you to meet if I can ever convince him to stop being an anti-social grump." Selphie said with a smile. "One of my friends was brought to Crystallis this month."

Rukia wasn't sure what to say to that. A small part of her felt a pang of guilt, even if she knew there was nothing she could have done to prevent what had happened. It wasn't her fault, nor was it her killer's if he or she had been manipulated into the act. Even so, the thought of her housemates being upset over her absence wasn't pleasant, no matter how touched she was at their care and concern. She was the oldest one there, she should have been around to comfort them in their time of need.

It was frustrating.

As such, she was grateful for the change of topic. Rukia folded her arms with a grin. "Is that so! That must be nice for you." Having a familiar presence was comforting in many ways, so she was glad Selphie had managed to latch onto someone she knew. "Will he be moving in with us?"

"Ahhhh, well," Selphie said with a sheepish laugh and grin. "He's not much of a people person and he'll be against it from the get go. I brought up meeting everyone and he shut it down pretty quick."

Selphie frowned thoughtfully. He'd likely warm up to the idea with time but for now, Squall was being pretty stubborn and adamantly against the notion of building bonds with those outside of his small circle of friends. "My friends and I from back home are all he has so I'd like him to meet some new people while he's here. He's a good guy though, honest!"
