Excellent
The archer was partially glad she even bothered to humor him, something even he could bring himself to retort to. "Would ya prefer it if I did?" In all seriousness, he would have done that and more. It was a wake up call and one he didn't take casually, the reality still clasped him tightly. The fact of the matter was, he wasn't there for her when she needed him most, and he wasn't about to ask for forgiveness. Raven wasn't quite sure what to do. Shower her with affection? Then he would come off superficial. Pretend like it never bothered him? Then he would strike insincere. Of the hours he spent mulling over the thoughts, he had no resolve to show for it.
Subtly, his arm extended toward her, but he was careful not to break her barrier should she have one. It was a mere offering for her to respond to should she choose to acknowledge his engagement. An otherwise expressive gesture was painfully reserved.

But those were her feelings. She couldn't really begin to guess how Raven felt about it. Death was temporary in this place, so for all she knew, he just twiddled his thumbs and slept in when she wasn't around to brew coffee or prod him awake for breakfast.
"So! What did I miss?" she asked, deciding to keep up the light-hearted mood just in case he really hadn't been all that affected.

Once her hand was firmly held by his, Raven pulled her into a hug. His arm curled around her back as his hand gently cupped the back of her head. He hadn't bothered to humor her back or even give a reply. All he did was silently hug her, perhaps more solemn than he intended. Raven's hand still gripped around hers, and he had no intentions of loosening it, not any time soon. The archer wanted to apologize, he wanted to do and tell her so many things. However, this was all he could manage.

Her small shoulders relaxed, and she closed her eyes. Being held felt good. He'd missed her after all, perhaps far more than she ever anticipated, and that was oddly reassuring. He cared. There had been plenty of evidence to suggest this when he'd willingly risked exposing himself to her illness just to take care of her, but this capped it off and erased any doubts she might have still carried.
"I'm all right," she promised. "I didn't suffer. You do not need to worry." Rukia smiled, resting her other hand against his chest just next to his Blastia core. "As long as my soul dwells in this world, I will always return to you."

Raven rubbed the back of her back briefly. It was reassuring to know that her end was painful, but it still didn't ease the guilt. Perhaps nothing would, or maybe he would eventually make it up to himself in the future. If there was a future.
His chin rested affectionately upon her head as he kept hold of her. Eventually she would be freed, but until then Rukia was very much captive within his hug. "Things were a little quiet without ya." Even with Yuri, Rukia managed a spot in his life that felt empty when she wasn't around. Raven didn't fully recognize it until she was actually gone. No one except Raven would know just how much impact that had, but if he at least communicated this much to her then he could begin to find a resolve.

"My apologies," she decided instead, smiling softly as she closed her eyes and circled his middle with both of her arms. "I won't let it happen again."
He felt so warm. She hadn't even realized how much she'd missed this, despite being ignorant of the passing of time. It felt as if it had been ages since she remembered the strength of his embrace, or the scent of his musk. Perhaps they could stay like this a while longer, for she had no objections to being his prisoner for as long as he wished to keep her as his own.

The hug lasted for quite sometime before he forfeited his hold. The arched unlatched slowly, and he gently wedged space between them. Though his hand rested comfortably on her head for a longer duration. A part of him that didn't want to give her up. Raven so desperately wanted to make up for his selfishness that he subjected her to for the past month, and yet he had no idea how to. Eventually, maybe, perhaps, one day that would happen.
"The rest of the house is waitin fer ya."
After all, it was a rather tight knit home. With how they all had bonded...for the most part.

"Flynn can wait," she said, her smile stretching into a mischievous grin. "I'd rather make up some lost time with you. Come." She loosened her hold, fingers catching his hand as she gave his arm a light tug. "Let's walk about the city. Perhaps we can visit that bakery you favor, and stop by the Temple of Fire." It's where they'd gone on their first date. That moment they'd shared would not be easily forgotten. Sometimes she thought she could still feel the warmth of the crystal under her palm, and the warmth of his hand laid over hers as he granted her the experience of comforting memories of her home and friends.
"Surely you must have some tales to tell yourself," she added. "It's been quite some time since we last met. How have you passed that time?" Had he set out on any more secret missions? Perhaps he'd managed to spy on one of their enemies.

As for the stories. Well he felt like she was making them out to be more than they were, and maybe it was. Raven had the tendency to think less of it, however, no matter how noble the cause. Unless he was fabricating a front, that is. "I'm not some protagonist from a story." He protested in that playful tone he tended to use for moments like these.

But not Ichigo, unfortunately. Losing him to crystal stasis had not been easy, but perhaps it was for the best. He was having a difficult time adjusting to this place, and his homesickness had been overwhelming more often than not. It meant that Rukia was the sole presence from their world now, and couldn't afford to make any foolish sacrifices without severe repercussions.
