Vincent Valentine was fairly constant and consistent, when he devoted himself to something. Even if that devotion hurt, and was still in a tentative and fragile state. But, as he had on Gaia, he found himself visiting Lucrecia, encased in Crystal once more.

They had talked, after the events where they had all been spirited away from the city, and reminders of their past, she had cornered him--they were overdue for some serious talks. Nor was he unhappy she had cornered HIM this time around. Not that speaking came easy--the past between them was complicated and painful, and Crystallis had only made things more complicated.

But they HAD talked. And before she had gone into stasis, they had agreed. Both still cared, but neither was going to jump in blindly. The most open thing they'd done so far simply consisted of Vincent walking her home from the lab at late nights. Small progress, but it was progress.

With her entering stasis though, Vincent had behaved similarly to how he had at least twice before on Gaia. A few times a week, he would visit her in the crystallized heroes wing. A plain glass vase, small bouquets of flowers left. Never very long in his visits, but enough that it was rather clear for those who knew how to understand.

Ophelia, while being his companion, has been decidedly enjoying the quiet romance she's playing witness to.

"I give it until just after she learns of the incident at the saloon..." he whispered back, far too eager to enable the conspiracy further for his own good. "Excellent specimens this time, kupo."

Lucrecia at first refused to sit, instead more focused on his words. She'd "rested" long enough in crystal, after all. There wasn't any need in her opinion, but she did at least begin to take a few sips of water as he started listing off a few things that had occurred. "How are things proceeding with the Weapon?" she asked out of curiosity, not at all interested in the world championships. The expedition she made note of for the time being, finally seeing the bouquet of purples, reds and blues through the glass. "Were those for...?"

A faint "aw, kupo" could likely be heard from the hallway, but she elected to ignore it as a faint shade of pink touched her ears.

"You know, you still haven't shared the last one kupo!" He feigned a pout and sniffle, but the grin broke out just as quickly. "And after I played my latest tune..."

She nodded once in response, but nothing prepared her for the voice from the doorway. Of course the hopeless romantics would be- Wait, every week? And several times? After a long pause, Lucrecia sat down, careful not to spill any of the water on herself. "...Thank you," she finally whispered. Whether it be for the water, flowers, or both, was left up to interpretation.

"Alright, kupo! Oh-" This time it was Orpheus who stuck his head through the doorway just a tad, grin still crossing his lips. "You know, kupo.... when a refined lady says 'thank you', the customary response is 'you're welcome'!" He ducked out again only when he saw the rather embarrassed glare Lucrecia shot at him. Straightening, he then flittered a little farther away from the door as he tried to stifle a few chuckles.

"...How many?" She asked, attempting to keep the conversation from spiraling even further into the moogles' romantically-inclined mischief. "The others found a cure, right?"

Orpheus agreed just as quickly, and after hearing the chuckles fade a bit, Lucrecia turned to face Vincent more fully. With a sigh of relief she nodded. Indeed, anyone would be stressed out with a plague spreading.

"I'm glad." Too many had been stricken whether it be permanently or temporary, yet who knew how many more would be in the days to come? It was a bitter truth to accept.

While she was concerned that he'd kept to himself, perhaps it was both a blessing. It was less opportunity to contract the plague that had inflicted others were it airborne. Wasn't much of a surprise either, considering she'd left him much to think about.

"That isn't all too surprising. Events seldom affect only a small group of individuals." A fact they both knew better than most, considering what her actions had caused. This world made it painfully obvious she would not be permitted to hide from that fact, either. With a sigh, she continued. "I'll be sure to speak with him once I return to the labs, then."

Sometimes she wished this world would make up its mind whether or not the past mattered. It certainly was confusing to say the least. Yet at the soft click and Vincent's choice of words, such thoughts were put on the back burner.

She blinked once, twice, before raising a single brow. "Yes, what is it?" she asked, perhaps a little too inquisitive for her own good. The fact that he'd closed the door was something that set off a flag, but for what she couldn't say.
