[Backdated Log] Some Sappiness and Closures...
Who: Vincent Valentine
bloodypast, Lucrecia Crescent
toomanymistakes, potential witnesses?
When: Through end of May, up to Sometime in the first week of June? PRE-MURDERS!
What: Some closure and discussions that happened post-the Answer; Constant bonds and visiting a crystalized Hero.
Where: Aquares Ixen Hospital, Crystalized Heroes Wings
Warnings: Cute and sap and fluff and potential sadness?
Open: People are welcome to have been witnesses/witness to his visiting. Please use the Witnesses/Visits comment.
Vincent Valentine was fairly constant and consistent, when he devoted himself to something. Even if that devotion hurt, and was still in a tentative and fragile state. But, as he had on Gaia, he found himself visiting Lucrecia, encased in Crystal once more.
They had talked, after the events where they had all been spirited away from the city, and reminders of their past, she had cornered him--they were overdue for some serious talks. Nor was he unhappy she had cornered HIM this time around. Not that speaking came easy--the past between them was complicated and painful, and Crystallis had only made things more complicated.
But they HAD talked. And before she had gone into stasis, they had agreed. Both still cared, but neither was going to jump in blindly. The most open thing they'd done so far simply consisted of Vincent walking her home from the lab at late nights. Small progress, but it was progress.
With her entering stasis though, Vincent had behaved similarly to how he had at least twice before on Gaia. A few times a week, he would visit her in the crystallized heroes wing. A plain glass vase, small bouquets of flowers left. Never very long in his visits, but enough that it was rather clear for those who knew how to understand.
Ophelia, while being his companion, has been decidedly enjoying the quiet romance she's playing witness to.

Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
Lucrecia at first refused to sit, instead more focused on his words. She'd "rested" long enough in crystal, after all. There wasn't any need in her opinion, but she did at least begin to take a few sips of water as he started listing off a few things that had occurred. "How are things proceeding with the Weapon?" she asked out of curiosity, not at all interested in the world championships. The expedition she made note of for the time being, finally seeing the bouquet of purples, reds and blues through the glass. "Were those for...?"
A faint "aw, kupo" could likely be heard from the hallway, but she elected to ignore it as a faint shade of pink touched her ears.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"I will have to ask those involved." Vincent replied, about to tell her also of the plague that had run through the city when she asked. Mouth open to reply, before he closed it again and looked down. His posture and lack of response confirmed that yes...yes those were for her.
Ophelia giggled, agreeing with Orpheus before mischief took her in hand. Peeking her head around the corner of the doorway. "He's been visiting several times a week since you went into stasis kupo. We've brought flowers every time." Ignoring the whip-quick turn of dark-head and crimson eyes in her direction, Ophelia regretted nothing about it as she ducked back into the hall.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
She nodded once in response, but nothing prepared her for the voice from the doorway. Of course the hopeless romantics would be- Wait, every week? And several times? After a long pause, Lucrecia sat down, careful not to spill any of the water on herself. "...Thank you," she finally whispered. Whether it be for the water, flowers, or both, was left up to interpretation.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
Ever stoic, Vincent could only nod--even if he'd wanted to speak, he wasn't sure what to say in response. To him, there had been little else he felt he could do. Even if she stayed in the crystal, and he eventually moved on--which was a remote, if still there, possibility--Lucrecia still would have a measure of his devotion and worry. Too much had happened between them, and he could admit, he was a fool. But he didn't know how else to be.
"...being in crystal stasis, you also missed a virulent plague that spread through the city." After several moments of silence, trying to ignore the awkward emotions and focus on business once more.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"...How many?" She asked, attempting to keep the conversation from spiraling even further into the moogles' romantically-inclined mischief. "The others found a cure, right?"
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"Several, and yes a cure was found." He confirmed for her. Vincent had avoided getting it himself, though whether it was luck or because the Gunner job conferred status-immunity upon him was unclear. "It has been a stressful month for many."
Which is part of why he'd kept to himself even more. Also why he'd focused on what he could do, visiting her and leaving flowers. Hope was such a sweet and bitter emotion at the same time, insidious and awful feeling.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"I'm glad." Too many had been stricken whether it be permanently or temporary, yet who knew how many more would be in the days to come? It was a bitter truth to accept.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"Admittedly, I have mostly kept myself busy with the day-job, and then at home." More introverted than he usually was, but it wasn't all that surprising. Wasn't as if he didn't have a lot on his mind. "It seems, when it comes to experiencing trauma, we were not alone--after being whisked from wherever to all points across the world." To his knowledge, everyone had arrived back mostly safely--Sephiroth's group had taken the longest he thought.
"There is still worry about the Calamity and its spread, as well as some new developments regarding our roles and purpose here. You'd likely be better off getting the notes from Jade or reading the reports."
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"That isn't all too surprising. Events seldom affect only a small group of individuals." A fact they both knew better than most, considering what her actions had caused. This world made it painfully obvious she would not be permitted to hide from that fact, either. With a sigh, she continued. "I'll be sure to speak with him once I return to the labs, then."
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
That had been one of their 'talks' after they returned. Personally Vincent felt it was progress, that he and Lucrecia were aware and treating each other as adults, but with caution. Just because there was care and hints of affection, didn't mean they should forget so easily. It was why they were taking things so slowly, and attempting to be friends, more than anything, first.
Discreetly looking around, including poking his head out to see if the moogles had left, before shutting the door to the room. Likely this next part would best be done discreetly. "There is something else you should be aware of, but if it has died down--it is better to let it stay quiet and dead."
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
She blinked once, twice, before raising a single brow. "Yes, what is it?" she asked, perhaps a little too inquisitive for her own good. The fact that he'd closed the door was something that set off a flag, but for what she couldn't say.
Re: The 'final' visit--aka when Lucrecia wakes up.
"I do not know the details, as I came upon the scene late. Mostly in time to prevent him from being arrested enough to be in the drunk tank overnight. Marshall Nevada had been struck once, likely in response to drunken anger, and was finally persuaded to remand Sephiroth to me to take home." It hadn't been easy though, and Vincent was glad his reputation with the Marshall was...good enough.
