[Log] My life is a dark room...one big, dark, room.
Who: Lydia Deetz
deadlyvu and Open
Where: Aquares Ixen, House B-13
When: Month of June
What: Lydia's turning the basement into a dark-room, and hunting for supplies.
Warnings: None yet?
Lydia had planned for a while to adapt the basement into a dark room, but with the murders happening (and her offer to help by photographing scenes if needed) meant she was finally moving to look into it. As in, find chemicals and things she could use to develop her film, as well as the supplies for a dark-room. Glad now that she'd learned to do it herself, as none of the convenient pre-mixed blends of developing fluid and rinse were available.
Not that there was much time before the 'curfew', but Lydia was making the most of her time after school. Out on her bicycle shopping, or sending BP on errands. Definitely a month-long project.
Sorry housemates in B13, Lydia is cleaning out the last of anything Henry had left (after working with Nanami before to clear out the dangerous stuff). She's also taking down tables, and installing some long lines to hang photos from, and playing around with lighting. Sorry for the noise, but the curfew is at least giving her a lot of time to spend at home.

He flushes a little when she mentions Akane. "Well, yeah, 'course she was worried. I was sort of dead and nobody told her." It didn't help his faith in the police force that that'd happened.
"But I'm better now, so no big deal. 'S not like that's anything new."

"That's not to say you're not unusual, kid. You're so dark and edgy. How could anyone compare?" Insert eyeroll here.
He ignores the teasing.
He had an evil workroom, back home, and it was way cooler than this moldy old basement."Yeah, Akane's great. Try not to creep her out too much with the whole vampire think, 'kay?"no subject
That was something Claire Brewster would do... Lydia just was who she was, and the dark and spooky appealed to her in a way other things didn't. "Well, even if you're a sarcastic jerk Kringle, I guess it's good to have you back."
no subject
"Guess it's not terrible to be back, C-C. So, you working on the Sexy Calendar Initiative, or is this just for your hobby?" They're not sure the world will last for another calendar year, but that's no reason to not make their remaining months sexier, after all.

"Nah, this is more I wanna photograph everyone. So we have records. Besides Crystal-statues or names in a journal." A hint of sadness. "Besides, much as I am not a kid, I think some heroes might find it uncomfortable to have a 15 year old taking sexy pictures of them." A wink, trying to tease herself.

His expression turns a little more serious. "Yeah, records would be a good idea. And info about what the heroes can do and stuff. A lot of them are running around with weird powers nobody knows about, and then we get clusterfucks like what happened last week. We can't afford to not know everyone and what they can do and stuff." It's not what Lydia was getting at, but it's what he's more concerned about. He doesn't need pictures to remember the friends he's lost to stasis. He just needs information so he can be prepared to protect who's left.

"The downside to that though, is if we do collect all that information, it could be used against us if Palitutu or someone got a hold of it." A shrug, crossing her arms. "I was going to do photographs mostly so we have a memory of who was here. Names. If..." A deep breath, focusing on her task. "If we don't make it, and things cycle again, maybe they'll survive and be of some help."
Plus having something to do would make HER feel better.

He shrugs. "But if you wanna have some legacy for future generations, that's cool. We're probably gonna need to put it in a black box and bury it so it'll survive, but maybe it'll get found and help someone." People are always digging up stuff from the past and finding out weird stuff from it. Ancient tombs, sunken ships, obscure psychological texts. Why not Lydia's yearbook?

Eventually she uncrossed her arms, shrugging and offering a small smile in Santa's direction. "Besides, even if no one would be comfy with me photographing them, I don't think you'll find anyone else who's able to develop the pics. For your calendar."
no subject
He'd run into the difficulty of crystal to electricity conversion, but it's probably not a hurdle he can't cross. He's an asshole, but he's not the kinda asshole who pushes kids to do shit they feel uncomfortable doing.
no subject
There's an eyeroll, which likely isn't helping her case, but she really is ok with this. "You don't really know anything about me, or what I've been through, or what I do and do not know or am comfy with. So yes, I think I'd be fine developing the pictures."
no subject
It's not like he's her guardian or anything. If she wants to perv on some pics of this world's celebrities, power to her.
"What, you act like you wanna have sleepovers and share our life stories with each other and stuff. Do you really want us to get to know each other more?" Because a rando guy 10 years her senior is not most people's idea of BFF material.
no subject
She's not even asking to be friends, tough guy. She's more trying to get him to not assume things. Lydia tries to not assume things either, about people she doens't know. "I wouldn't mind us at least being on good terms, but I'm not asking for your life story any more than you're asking for mine. I'm just pointing out that you're assuming things." There's a shrug of one shoulder, and she's willing to let it drop if he is.
