Characters: Fai D. Flourite & Open

When: 20th - 25th November
Summary: Fai thought to travel and help gather information and possibly chose the most fun place. Ah, reminders of another world.
Warning: None as of yet.

Fai had thought it would be nice to get out of the city and so had set about doing it ~~possibly taking a grumpy ninja with him~~ and where he had managed to end up was a place filled with wonders; an Amusement Park.

It kind of brought back memories to him about another world he had been too where things went very weird. Although as he recalled he didn't remember ever going there to begin with until a while after, but never the less it brought the memory around. With a smile on his face he had gone on ahead and can be found at most games either watching people and seeing how it worked or even placing a bet or two on some chocobo's

Zelda walked up to the hero with a wide smile. "Are you enjoying the races?"

Kopula sat in her arms kicking his little legs in the air as they watched the chocobo's race along the circular track. She had been looking for clues to the elusive moogle as well as presents while in the city.

She had stopped by the races to talk to the stable hands about ways to take care of chocobo's. Zelda hoped to be able to learn more and implement practices at the stable in Aqures Ixen.

"They are most interesting if I do say so." He had started to wonder if he should have brought his big yellow friend with him as well, even more so considering one of his jobs was one that involved a Chocobo.

"I wonder if the Chocobo's from the farm ever end up being sent here?"

"I have talked to some of the stable hands and apparently Iexn is where they prefer to buy their chocobo's." She smiled up at him thinking back to her own chocobo at home.

Since Zelda worked at the farm she got to see her friend often and their bound has only grown stronger.

"I see." Well he never figured to ask, thinking of what he said to be more of a curious wondering than something he actually wanted to know about but he guessed it was nice to know should he come back.

"Have you thought about betting on a chocobo or two?"

"I haven't. There is so much that goes into how well they do. How well trained they are, the muscle build and honestly, I don't know where to start." She laced her fingers together and watched the chocobo's as they ran down the track.

"Sometimes to start just guessing is always the best. You might lose money, but it gives you a foot in." He's never really gambled before but this was at least an experience he learnt from it. Made it more fun.

He looked at the chocobo's as they raced. He hadn't made a bet this time so at least there was no money on the line.

"Why don't we try and guess without the money? We can just compete against each other." Zelda handled her money carefully and she didn't see the point in throwing it away for a game that could be played without losing it.

She watched the line up for the next race as the chocobo's stood at the side lines waiting for their turn. She pointed to the bright red chocobo with a smile. "I choose that one."

"You could, but you gain nothing from that type of competition. But I guess I could do that so long as they don't realize that's what we're doing. For all I know we could get kicked out." And he figured that wouldn't be a very good thing to say the least. Or at least it would be very public.

"There should be a race coming up in five minutes, so shall we see whose up?"

"Yeah." She smiled at him a little curious as to what he meant. Zelda wasn't versed in the ways of gambling.

He smiled back as he went to walk up to see who was up. He was pretty sure he had seen a couple of these ones race before so he remembered where they placed. He was quietly scanning before pointing to one.

"I think this one will win, even though the odds say it might not be likely. What about you?"

Zelda looks at each bird carefully. There muscles and forms were impressive but she could see signs in at least half of the birds that they were being push a little to hard. Her eyes set on the furthest golden bird and she pointed to it with a smile.

"That one!"

"good choice, I choose the underbird and you choose the cute one." He figured that one had a better chance and all he knew now was that they could sit down and simply watch the race, so he started to scan the area to find some good seat.

"Lets go over there." He points to an area with a few empty seats that they could sit on and get a good view.

"Is it? I think they are all cute."

She followed him to the seat and looked out at the race with an excited smile. It was more fun to watch when you had a chocobo to root for. Her eyes were wide as she watched the race and her fingers nervously played with the rim of her dress.

Fai figured he might as well cheer like everyone else in the room to avoid really standing out. So with his arm in the air he started to cheer rather loudly, but thankfully not over the other people.

He seemed a little too in to it, but he had to admit he was having fun even though his Chocobo didn't finish first. Not that it mattered since he wasn't really betting.

"Well, it looks like you were just right on your choice." he said with a light chuckle.

"Yes but it was a good race! I miss racing to be honest." Though her loftwing was always the fastest compared to the others, if only because she was a female bird.

She enjoyed the time she got to ride her chocobo but it wasn't the same. Zelda missed being able to fly.

"You use to race?" He asked looking over at her. To be honest he didn't think she were really the racing type. He could race if he wanted too but choose not to honestly.

She gave him a nod before explaining. "We ride loftwings in my world. From a very young age. Each year during the goddess ceremony there is a race and the young knights must keep up with the goddess."

"Loftwings?" That sounded like some kind of funky bird to him, and he probably thought what he was imagining was probably nothing close to what she actually mean, so he kept that to himself for the time being.

However as he listened he at least smiled. The races sounded kind of interesting. "Is there a purpose for such a race, or is it just for fun?"

"It is a ceremony actually, though we do have races for fun as well. Also to practice. The loftwings are fantastic bird. Like chocobo's in maybe ways but their wings and beaks are bigger."

Zelda smiled as she thought of home and her bird. They never did name them and now she wished she had.

With that he thought he could picture what the birds would look like and they honestly seemed quite interesting. Other worlds were always interesting after all.

He smiled slightly as he watched her. She seemed so happy to talk about them. "You seem to like your home, don't you miss it while your here?"

"I do but.. I don't know for some reason I don't know if I want to go back home just yet."

She had been torn since being reunited with Link. There was only sadness waiting for her at home and a fate she had no choice in. She wanted to help but for once she wanted to be selfish too and stay by her friends side for a little longer.

He was a little surprised at her saying that. usually people wanted to go home even if they were travelling. He knew Kurogane was that kind of guy, he wanted to help out but that was because he knew he was coming back to his home eventually.

"I'm sure you have reasons for such things, so I won't pry. it would be rather rude of me otherwise." He felt like he should try and be more positive again. "So, what shall we do next?"

Zelda smiled and then shook her head. "I don't know. I was looking for gifts for people though."

"Looking for gifts? Why were you doing that?" He did look a little puzzled about that because he had no idea why someone would need to do that.

"Kopula told me that a winter holiday was coming. I wanted to get gifts for all the heroes in the city. It might be something small but I think it's important."

She looked up at Fai with a wide smile.

"A winter holiday, huh?" He knew of some in his own world but they might not have been the same as the one this world probably celebrated. He had to admit though he was a tiny bit curious as to what it was.

"how do you think doing that is important though?"

She looked up at him with a confident smile. "It gives people hope and reminds them that no matter how bad things get there is always a light there to shine."

Zelda wanted to be that hope for the heroes if she could. She wasn't comfortable fighting the way that others did but this was something she could do.

"A light there to shine, huh..." He wouldn't think of people to say it like that, but it was a nice thing never the less and gave him a small smile.

"That's a nice way to put it." He moved to stand up, he figured they might as well go se what else is going on.

Zelda laughed softly. "I think so too. Thank you for your company. I hope to run into you again soon. If not I will see you at work."

With that the goddess turned to leave with Kopula flying behind her.
