[Ed runs a hand over his face, thinking, before turning to Ash for a moment.]
Right, so. This is K'pandolu, Jack, Santa, Mordecai and Dylas. Everyone, this is Ash. He's a good friend of mine, and this is is tavern. He also knows this town like the back of his hand, so in case we get split up for some reason, stick with him.
[Ed is already a reasonably tall guy, and Ash has at least 4 inches on him. He clasps a big hand on his friend's shoulder and looks the group over.]
Everyone, this is Doc. He also knows this city like the back of his hand, including all the places you wish you hadn't known existed. And we're gonna go meet Maris Hanlon, who's the person usually the person responsible for them. And if anyone's got such a wide variety of clothing laying around somewhere, it'll be here.
[Because really, what are you people even wearing? Good thing Santa has that spell. It doesn't matter how modestly K'pandolu is dressed, she'd most likely be scandalous by 1901 standards. Good thing Ash is a hard guy to rattle. Strange that Santa used a spell without any apparent incantation, components or books, but Ash was never an expert on magic anyway. That's Ed's job.
After stopping to get one of the kitchen workers to cover for him up front, Ash rejoins the group as they head outside. He'll lead them around the back of the building and towards town using the least busy streets they can. That's a feat, considering it seems to be busy everywhere.
Ed is pensive as he follows close behind Ash, giving his friend a lot of thoughtful looks when he was turned away.
They move from the industrialized part of town towards more crowds in commercial and residential areas. The signs around them transition slowly from English into Chinese, which is the most obvious clue of where they're headed. Chinatown is small and congested. There are plenty of stores and street stalls to browse as they pass by.
Some of the more observant members of the group might get the feeling they're being followed, though. Hard to tell from who with all these people milling around.]
