Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[ Feel free to use this thread for mingling after the characters wake up at Order's Sanctuary. They will not be told what to do and the Moogles around won't be much help at all, except for providing food and water. It is also possible for the characters to leave the sanctuary, but it is very dangerous with the Manikins roaming free everywhere. ]

[ This world the Heroes of Light stepped into doesn’t seem to be the homeworld of anyone. Characters coming from a similar reality though see in their surroundings a version of Earth— Looking by the windows they might be witness to a very busy place-- Pollution, cars and all the wonders of a 21st century traditional earth city.

As for where the Heroes are, it seems to be a Library. There is no one around, but judging by the muttering and stepping noises, there are people around doing their own things and too busy to notice the Heroes. If anything, should they be too noisy they might cross path with people asking them to be silent. There are many tables with books open on them, newspapers with the headline "Michael Phelps takes no shortcuts on path to fourth Rio Olympics gold medal," and the likes.

There even are computers around the room—Checking on them will show the date is the 12th of August 2016 in this world. They don’t seem to be showing anything of interest however. One of them is opened up on a page named “dreamwidth.org” and has a tab for something called “plurk.com” on the side... Worse, there aren’t even any conflicts to resolve in this place! Stepping just in the lower floors will reveal the exit portal. Why would the Heroes have to step into such an uninteresting and stupid world? People living there must be depressed.

Duster | New Tazmily

[Stepping through the portal leads the Heroes on the cliffside of the sea. There is very little hint of human civilization, save for a village with wooden houses and nearby farms. As it's the middle of the day, people can be seeing working around town: constructing buildings, meeting friends, and herding sheep.

Duster doesn't recognize the place at first, though it does look similar to the area where Tazmily used to lie. Being the main point of interest, the group approaches the town only for Duster to stop when he gets a look at the residents from a distance.]

Welcome to Balamb Garden.

Upon entering this world, you find yourself in what looks like a school or a military academy. And you seem to be a temporary cadet.

Remember that your SeeD exam is coming up and it is time for you to defeat Ifrit in the Fire Cavern. Best to keep your eyes open for that pesky Palitutu as well. But feel free to explore the Garden first.

-Food, weapons and magic are prohibited.
-Study panels are shared. Handle with care.
-Leave messages for other students.

[Training Center]

-Proceed with caution. There are real monsters in the training center.
-It is open 24 hours. Entering the ground for reasons other than training is prohibited.
-Do not engage in battles beyond your abilities.
-In particular watch out for the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

[Infirmary]

-Visit the infirmary if you have any health concerns or problems.
-No items may be taken from the infirmary without permission.
-Follow the doctor’s instructions.

[Library]

-Open Hours: 9.00 am - lights out.
-Library usage: All materials are open to public. You may check-out materials at the desk.
-Remain quiet at all times.

[Dormitory]

-SeeDs have priority for single rooms.
-Going out after hours for reasons other than training is prohibited.
-Do not leave personal possessions in common areas.
-There seems to be a Triple Triad tournament happening in someone’s room.

[Cafeteria]

-Open Hours: 9.00 am - 9.00 pm.
-Keep the area clean.
-If late-night meals are required, order them before hand.
-Get them hot dogs.

[SEED EXAM]

Once you’ve acquainted yourself with the Garden it is time to take your SeeD Exam. As you are a cadet you are not permitted to enter the cavern without an instructor or SeeD. You must contact Squall Leonhart, Selphie Tilmitt, [guest star] Zell Dincht or a NPC Instructor to accompany you on your exam.

Once you’ve established a partner head out to the Fire Cavern and begin. Your objective is to defeat Ifrit with minimal assistance from your partner. Use your combat knowledge and fight smart. Good luck.

Twilight Sparkle | World: Equestria - Ponyville

[As you step through the portal, you'll find yourself in an interesting place - a quaint looking town, not too advanced, but... well... there are ponies. Ponies are everywhere. Not a single human to be seen. In fact, neither are you! You're now either an Earth Pony, a Unicorn or a Pegasus (sorry, Alicorns are only for people like Twilight). Twilight steps around, a big smile on her face.]

Woah, I knew this was possible in the other world, but I didn't expect it to work with other worlds, too. Don't worry, it's probably easy enough to get used to these new forms, especially since it's only for a little while. We should try to find the portal, but I do want to see if anything's missing and check up one everypony.

World: Tales of Zestiria | Continent of Glenwood

When you enter the world, it feels as though it’s any typical world out there, but the longer you stick around the more foreboding the things around you are starting to seem. At first it’s just small things like a strange sense of something watching you, followed by the gravel falling off of the half destroyed buildings. The whole village is surrounded by some sort of sadness that you can’t exactly wrap your mind around. Eventually, the feeling becomes something else. You might start feeling a little uncertain or anxious. It’s nothing out of the ordinary really. You realize there is something beyond the silent village in front of you.

Out of nowhere, a large angry animal-like creature jumps at you. Before you could really make any move, something shoots a strip of water the monster’s way, followed by other sounds. The wind picks up around you, the earth shakes and then there’s flares that you’ve never seen before. It’s alright. You aren’t seeing things… or are you? Welcome to Camlann, the Origin Village. You might want to take cautious steps if you can.

[ OOC: as a side note, all individuals who enter the realm of Glenwood, will be unable to see the Seraphim: Edna, Mikleo, and Lailah due to humans being unable to see Seraphim due to their lack of belief and resonance with the Seraphim at first.

If you want to build that resonance throughout their adventures, then feel free to do so and they can start hearing, and such at first. It will be a gradual thing before they can fully see Edna, Lailah and Mikleo fully manifest. They can also ask Sorey to communicate with the Seraphim!

Malevolence however, will be somewhat visible but will follow the same routine. The longer they are in the world, the more able they are to see and feel the negative energy in the world! Also be aware that Heroes of Light will be attacked by monsters called : Hellions. They cannot be purified or eradicated easily. They might have to ask the Shepherd for assistance. Feel free to start your own subthreads! ]

- What a huge… courtyard, right? Navigate the courtyard and follow the Minotauros to the end
- What’s that rumbling every now and again? Oh, it’s just the Shepherd being you know… the Shepherd.
- Watch out for the Fairies, they will suck the life out of you
- Successfully following the Minotauros to the back of the courtyard will take you right back to Order’s Sanctuary

[Hark! Here comes the Shepherd! Or well, here comes a man moving through the crumbling, burned-out village with a stride that screams that he has a purpose. A white cloak billows out behind him like a beacon but probably doesn't mean much to most of the Heroes. Every step he takes is one of determination, one that won't falter.

Until it does when he catches sight of someone admist the vast emptiness that is the village. Sorey doesn't expect to see anyone in Camlann what with the fact that it was abandoned years ago and then sealed off. Malevolence is all around him but that doesn't necessarily mean that this individual is emitting any. It's nearly impossible for him to ignore anyone who might be in Camlann - whether they turn out to be friend or foe. So after nearly stopping in his track completely, he rushes forward until he pulls up short next to them.]

Hey! What are you doing here? It's dangerous.

↳ Camlann - Option B

[At this point he's aware that there are individuals popping up all over this area. Ones who haven't become hellions and as muchas Sorey would like to rush away to save gramps and stop Heldalf, he also can't turn his back on people in need. This means instead of going to fight the last battle against the Lord of Calamity, he's running around Camlann in search of these people.

When he catches sight of one locked in battle with a hellion, he puts on a burst of speed to rush towards them. The hellion swoops down and attack and Sorey moves passed the Hero to block the attack with his blade. He calls out over his shoulder at the Hero.]

Get back! I'll take care of it.

[Sorey can't let these people kill a hellion, he has to purify it.]

[At some point, Sorey can be found all over Glenwood - hopping around from one city to another, to the roads in between and every ruin he knows about thanks to the power of the Lords of the Land. This means he's available for interaction anywhere.]

Hope and Despair - Chiaki's World

[Chiaki's world is a near future dystopia, with ruined buildings, roving mobs, and horrible bear-shaped attack robots everywhere. A world ruled by one thing alone: despair. A world where, until very recently, Junko Enoshima was worshiped as a nearly godlike figure by cults of people who wished nothing more than to drive themselves, everything, and everyone around them into utter ruin. A world that takes hope and twists it until it breaks, leaving only emptiness behind.

Aside from the dismal and violent surroundings, the first thing the Heroes that enter the portal with Chiaki will notice is that she is conspicuously missing. That is, until the Ancient computer she insisted upon bringing with her begins beeping and flashing in the hands of one Jack Harkness. As the screen flares to life, there's Chiaki on the screen, looking more serious than anyone has ever seen her. This is the first time she's seen her world outside of the Neo World simulation, after all.]

Everyone... this is my world. It's a dangerous place, so be careful.

[Thankfully they've managed to arrive in an alleyway out of sight of the main action, but it's clear that they've got their work cut out for them if they're going to make it through alive.]

Deadpool's World - Earth-616/Prime Earth: New York City

[Face front, True Believers! Not-Stan Lee here to tell you another pulse-pounding, senses-shattering, off-the-wall excitement that only Not-Marvel can give you!

Welcome to New York City, where Legends are born! A lot has changed in the eight months since a mysterious incident the befell the planet claimed the lives of Reed Richards and his family as people you know and love have changed in various ways. The unpopular are popular, the poor are rich and famous names are no longer around!

And this is where we come in, as Deadpool and his merry band of heroes arrive in New York in search of that dastardly villainess Palitutu before she can enact another one of her strange and diabolical schemes!]

General Threads

[And here's where you guys can go and travel this brand new world and do whatever. NPC if you want to! Marvel-NYC is the same as normal NYC, except for a number of landmarks that obviously doesn't exist in the real world:

Avengers Tower - former home to the World's Mightest Heroes, the Avengers. Financial hard times on Tony Stark's part has forced him to sell it, so it's currently abandoned. There might be some old gear left over if you want to sneak in and grab it!

Avengers Mansion - the other former home to the World's Mightest Heroes. Once in the possession of Luke Cage, the beautiful mansion is now a cosplay hotel, but there's still gear in there, but it's locked up tight.

Sanctum Sanctorum - home to the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange. You... probably don't want to go there. A lot of magical, mystical mumbo jumbo goes down in there and you probably don't want to accidentally unleash something like Shuma-Gorrath on this world.

Parker Industries - with Stark Industries on the decline, this up-and-coming scientific corporation is making its mark on New York and the world. Its owner, Peter Parker, is off jet-setting, but you can probably catch the company's mascot, Spider-Man, swinging around every once in awhile. Maybe while you're here, you can try out the spiffy new Webware device!

Daily Bugle - a popular newspaper in New York. It barely does the anti-Spider-Man stuff since J. Jonah Jameson left the paper, first to become Mayor, then to be a reporter of Fact Channel News.

Schaefer Theater - Deadpool's base of operations. Did you know the guy is insanely popular? It's also the home base of the Avengers Unity Squad, but they're not around right now. Probably.

The only other local is outside in Westminster, but that's lost its real value since the Jean Grey School of Higher Learner mysteriously disappeared.

Oh, and one other thing - if you see a green cloud and you're a mutant? Run. That's a Terrigen Cloud and it's not friendly to you at all. Especially since we've lost our functional immortality.]

Ales's World - The Glade of Dreams

[When the Heroes step through the portal, they find themselves in a welcoming setting. Unlike the calm of Order's Sanctuary, the sprawling, dense jungles and forests of Ales' home are vivid and filled with gentle sounds. Small yellow orbs of light float above the branches, radiating magic. The denizens of the glade are a variety of fantastic creatures, ranging from faeries to frog-like men to...anything weird you can come up with. There are Teensies just like Ales, though they wear pastels and have spiral markings on their noses instead of stripes like his.

The Heroes wake up in the middle of the forest, but in the distance, they will see a large glowing orb among the foliage. This is the Heart of the World, and the Teensie race are the guardians of this source of life energy. They're a party-loving people, and would love to waste time with the Heroes. If they learn of their heroic deeds, the Heroes might get a chance to meet with the Teensie king, the Grand Minimus. Or rather, kings. The crown is passed among the four of them during the day since that's the best compromise they could come up with.

Most residents the Heroes will come are resting in their homes and wave at the newcomers with smiles. Life is good here, and there is no need for them to worry for their safety. Perhaps they want to sit a while and eat some brightly colored fruit? Explore the intertwining branches that they use as walkways?

Ales, however, will not waste any time. No matter how much he detests his lazy neighbors, they are not going to be friendly with him. The instant he realizes where they are, he ducks into the bushes and crawls away from any settlement. He was planning on returning to the Glade, but he has no killer robots to conquer it with. Terrible timing.

That's not all. A flying ship has shown up on the horizon, captained by the feared robot pirate Razorbeard and his crew. The Heroes can ignore the threat and let the locals deal with the problem, or they can board the ship, beat the pirates through fighting or trickery, and jump through the portal that appeared by their ship...]

[Levy is left utterly breathless at the scenery. So much so, in fact, that she completely loses sight of Ales as she wanders around taking it all in.]

This place is beautiful! It's like the stories I've heard about Tenrou Island.

Mars - Sparks's & Barkeep's world - open

[Welcome to Mars, year 3013! Which suspiciously looks more like the American west, 1813. The scenery is a lot more red than the deserts of the southwest, however. Not far away from where they stand is the town, the only human settlement on Mars. It's not very impressive, just a handful of small buildings, homes and businesses looking peaceful in the hot desert sun. There is more greenery than some might expect in the far distance, fields where farming is transforming the landscape, and where hypercattle and other animals graze.

It might not look like much, but to Barkeep and Sparks, it's home, and they're glad to be back.]

Saori shielded her eyes for a brief second as light flooded her senses as she stepped into a portal. Rounded pebbles crunched under her feet and she opened her eyes. Any heroes who followed after her would find themselves in a rather large Japanese stone garden with a koi pond. The sun wasn’t overhead and tree tops that peaked above the white walls surrounding them were still green. Several feet away from their landing, there was an equally large Japanese-styled house.

“I wonder which world this is, kupo,” Brigid looked around she hovered but noticed her Hero walking towards the house. Without a second thought, she placed her spear on the stony ground and removed her greaves before walking in through the opened doors of what looked to be a seating area to view the garden from but only there were no chairs.

“I don’t believe it, this is….” She looked back towards her fellow heroes. “It’s alright, everyone. We’re actually in the summer house my family owns. Come in, but shoes off first.”

“I-Inari-sama?!” A female voice called out in surprise but it came from a red fox who had just turned the corner to see the Heroes. She skidded over to front of Saori and bowed. “M’lady, forgive me. I did not hear you would be arriving today, let alone have guests here!”

“It’s alright, Tamamo. This visit was rather last minute on my side so I should be the one to apologize.. I’m afraid I don’t know how long we’ll be staying, but we’ll be in your care.”

The fox gave a nod and turned to give the guests a bow. She had never seen such an array of characters here before. “Welcome, guests. Please make yourselves at home. Would any of you like anything to drink?”

Mingling/Playing Tourist

Kuukan, aka the Otherealm of Saori’s World is home to gods, souls and the supernatural. The summer home the Heroes arrived is in the First District where gods reside but there are plenty of places to explore.

At the summer home, there's a dojo to train in, an outdoor hot spring, as well as a smaller Japanese tea house. Fox spirits in both human and animal form are available at everyone's beck and call.

Some points of interest are the All-Souls Library where not only memories of past lives are archived but every written word in the history of mankind exists. For all things food, there’s the Gods’ Kitchen. It’s where gods associated with cooking, kitchens and the hearth work while they create and preserve recipes and stock on the finest ingredients.

If neither place is your cup of tea, there’s the Second District. Compared the First District, it’s three times the size. It’s a residential area for many souls and supernatural creatures. There’s shops lining alleyways as humans souls and animal spirits make their way through daily life.

Captain Jack Harkness - Doctor Whoniverse Earth - Limited

When they step through the portal, Jack takes a deep breath, like he hasn't been able to breathe fully from before this point. The Time Energy is rushing back into him along with the feel of the sea air in his lungs. He lets out a delighted laugh, before he looks around at the people who have followed him through.

"Welcome to Cardiff, Wales. Start of the 21st Century." There is quite a chill in the air, rolling in off of the nearby bay. But the sun is out, and there are people bustling back and forth. The signs of technology are everywhere, from the communications devices in people's hands, to the advanced boats sitting in the harbor. It takes an extra second for Jack to notice the Christmas lights, strung on every available surface, and especially around the stadium. Is it Christmas? Wouldn't that be just the thing.

"We need to know when it is. Come on." Jack starts to guide everybody over towards a small building by the docks, labeled as a Tourist Information Center.

Rialynn Kollmann - Home of the OCs

Stepping through the portal brought with it the usual dizzying shift in environment. There were no bright city lights in this place, no rumble of airships. It was a dense forest packed with pine trees. The smell of the air was rich with damp earth, and the dripping of the pine boughs was indicative of a rain shower that had recently passed. The evening sky was choked with thick clouds, blotting out any hope of seeing the moon and stars.

But there was light. Distantly glimpsed down the winding trail of packed pine needles and muddied earth, there was no mistaking the warm orange squares marking the windows of small homes and buildings. The village was small and rustic, but there were definitely people there.

Rialynn moved through, swaying unsteadily as she struggled to adjust to the sudden change of scenery. She frowned at first, tense, then her hand slowly rose to mop over her face when she found herself staring at the pathway that led to the very place of her birth. "Schornburg," she murmured, her brow flicking. It was hard to say if she was surprised or nervous. Perhaps both. This wasn't a place she'd really expected to see again, having turned her back on her hometown a few years back before she would eventually wind up dumped into Crystallis.

She looked back at the others with her. It was almost worth suggesting that they just dive right back through the portal, but they had to find the exit in order to get closer to locating Palitutu, right? It was dark, so most people were likely asleep. It was just a matter of sneaking through while the villagers slumbered. Easy.

...Who was she kidding, nothing in this world or the next one had ever been easy!

The young bard took a step forward, but suddenly froze at the sound of voices engaged in conversation and the soft thud of horse hooves. Quickly she ushered everyone off of the trail, herding them back into the trees to take shelter. And a good thing, too. A trio of men rode past, decked out in armor and colorful tabards. All of them wore rapiers at their hips.

The Opening Scene

[Through the next portal the group of Heroes step through, night has fallen. Most of the surrounding area is too dark to make out, though an inviting light flickers through a copse of trees. Somewhere nearby, water churns against smooth stones in a stream, and for those who would be familiar with such sounds, chocobos kweh softly as they settle themselves down to sleep.

It feels peaceful, for this moment, at least.

As they approach the trees, they will find a small camp. A fire burns, and several fish cook on sticks. Two chocobos sit nestled in the grass, their saddles hung over a fallen log. A young woman sits beside them, gently running her fingers through their neck feathers as their eyes droop. She looks up as the group approaches.]

Brother! There you are. I was worried you had gotten yourself lost in the dark.

[Her words are admonishing, but her tone is light and cheerful. She gives the nearest chocobo a final rub and then pushes herself to her feet. Before she is properly upright, Ramza has crossed the distance between then and flung his arms around the girl. For her, he has only been gone for an hour at most, but for him, it has been nearly two years since he has last laid eyes on his dear sister.]

Pursuit

[In the light of day, the dangers of Ivalice are more easily seen. In addition to especially ferocious wild chocobos and other hungry creatures, troupes of thieves prey on travelers. More concerning, though, is the more organized bands of mercenaries and soldiers that are out, roaming.

Ramza and Alma do their best to keep out of sight without going in to much detail, but most of the soldiers call out to the people they pass, "Have you seen the Heretic in these parts?"

The Heroes can choose to face their enemies in battle, or keep to the shadows and try to evade their pursuers until the next portal can be found.]

Final Fantasy VII - Gaia [Open to All]

Regardless if it might be the first, or one of many portals that the characters have since dropped through since their congregation at Orders Sanctuary, the sensation would be all the same. Distinct feelings of disorientation, as all around them reality seemed to bend and distort along with them. Eventually, as the surroundings seemed to calm down, sensory started to bleed through.

Bright blue sky, the height of summer, the distant sound of some tropical bird echoing from somewhere in the ring of surrounding jungle, however it wasn't close to the location in which the Heroes were to appear. The areas was charred earth, barren and dry, populated with twisted and broken metal almost all around; the remnants of a great explosion for what could well have been a generation ago. Nature hadn’t even managed to creep back across the wide pockmark that the reactor had left in the middle of the Gongaga area when disaster had struck, yet at the same time, it was clear that there was -something- still lingering in the area here, something that whispered of the disturbed lifestream which still hasn’t had time to settle.

The journey begins in the vicinity of Gongaga’s destroyed mako reactor, though aside from the fact that none of the townspeople -the settlement of a handful of houses being only a short jungle-trek away- had much of a reason to come out to the failure that had killed so many loved ones, there isn’t much to find here except for burnt out bits of rusting machinery and reactor parts.

Not so great for learning much about this World though, or more particularly when was exactly the time they had arrived at.

[The portal yawns open as Chrom and the members of his group move through. With Falchion firmly grasped in his hand, the sudden wash of nostalgia hits him hard at that first breath of fragrant summer air. He knows this country. He knows his halidom, having traveled it at length multiple times.]

It can't be...!

[He's torn between staring in deep concern and throwing back his head and laughing in delight. Not only is he alive, but he's home. He's really home!]

[Chrom spins around to face the others, his face suddenly years younger as he smiles.]

This is Ylisse. My home! We should be safe, since the war has passed, but be watchful. Risen may still stalk this land.

[He walks forward, no longer wearing the gaudy crystal armor in favor of his lord's uniform and tattered white cape. In this, the brand of the Exalt is clearly visible on his arm. The temptation to seek out the other Shepherds, particularly Lissa and Robin, is incredibly strong. But he knows they're pressed for time. He can't afford to indulge his homesickness.]

I believe I see something in the valley below. Let's press forward.

[Ed doesn't know what to expect when stepping through a portal to his world. Considering he was in prison before coming to Crystallis, he was afraid of ending up there with everyone. But that was 1953, and the place they arrive is definitely much, much earlier than that. Not far from the bay, the city stretches out before them. Dock workers and sailors mingle with business owners, bustling with midday activity. The architecture, the clothing, and a myriad of other things clue those who know that this is the early 20th century at latest.

Ed himself looks completely stunned. Stripped of his Hero powers, he wears an ill-fitting, worn suit with an equally old bowler hat. The rest of the Heroes, though, stick out like sore thumbs. They're starting to attract attention. But Ed either hasn't noticed that, or doesn't care. After gawking at the scenery, he fixates on a nearby building, its sign reading Rookwood Tavern.]

[Circumstances inside of the portal quickly go from worse to the worst. Arriving in a small forested area with a large city looming in the distance, they're immediately joined by company. Unfortunately, that company is Dylas' corpse, which is made even more awkward by the fact he's standing right next to everyone. At least they won't have to worry about time shenanigans since he's already been killed.

And while he urges everyone to remain calm, he's the one that's panicking. "Don't stray too far from me," he warns everyone. He paces anxiously, looking toward the city in the distance and then back at the forest. His ears move wildly, picking up every sound while he deals with the damned eternal hunger returning to his body. He's a monster again, and it's been a long time since he's eaten...thankfully, he's not too interested in the people who followed him through.

As the minutes pass, his pacing starts to get more erratic. He stumbles a few times, ultimately deciding on the city.]

Let's hurry. My old apartment should still be there, we can break in.

[He only makes it about thirty feet before he holds his hand to his chest, cries out, and falls to the ground, becoming the second corpse the group has to deal with.]

[R&R: Rage and Regret]

[So, Dylas is alive again. That's wonderful, and they've made it back to his old apartment. Four stories up in the modern city of Bavan, it has four bedrooms and two living areas. A kitchen. It's spacious. Reminders of the pass tenants exist here or there. Even stranger might be the fact that the streets are lined with monsters: nagas, kelpies, demons, merfolk. It shouldn't take long to figure out what the monsters do, as a warning pamphlet might be handed to them at some point, though a few of the residents on the way there seem to think Dylas is wonderfully handsome.

Some people love monsters, apparently.

But now Dylas is seated in a chair, resting his head in his hand. He's tired. So, so tired. And occasionally, his stomach growls, but oh well.]

If you've got any questions, now's the time to ask them. But make them not annoying and not pointless. We'll stay here until tomorrow night.

[That's right, it's time for a sleepover. And Dylas sleeps during the day. He'll add one thing before everyone splits up to their own room.]

There's singing behind them. A proud chorus of voices, Ronso sending them off and up the mountain. An awe-inspiring send off indeed... with grand horn on head! as Yuna shielded herself against the harsh cold of the oncoming winds. "Mount Gagazet..." she explained to those that had come with her this far. Before them stood an impossibly tall mountain, and from the looks of it, they were going to be scaling it by foot. Just as all the high summoners before her had.

Just like her father had...

"It's the last height to scale... before we reach Zanarkand," which, from the way she spoke, was of grave importance somehow.

Why did it have to be snow? Even though it was a place that she did not recognize, Midna knew from the first moment they'd arrived that this was Hyrule, thanks mostly to the fact that her old magic was restored... and her skills from Crystallis were all but inaccessible. She shivered in the wind, but up ahead...

"Look, there's some kind of shelter," a mansion? "Let's go."

[ Upon entering the portal, the Heroes find themselves locked within a circular chamber - at least a general check will indeed reveal there is no doors to be seen on either of the intricately decorated walls.

That’s hardly the biggest oddity. Floating in the very heart of the room is a Crystal not unlike the ones the group has already seen in Crystallis. Although the massive, cog-shaped pedestal atop of which it’s situated keeps the Crystal out of reach, the entity appears to be otherwise aware of the intruders’ presence, if the constant flickering of the crimson light is anything to go by.

Those who decide to get closer might even get to hear its voice, light and feminine, feeling like a faint whisper in their ears. ]

Thine fate has been sealed when thou refused to adhere to the Will.

[ As soon as it fades, so does the glow, and the fiery warmth gives way to the cold of a dungeon. While at this point it might really seem there’s no way out, there’s one person among the Heroes that seems to know more than he initially let on.

Ace hurriedly walks over the other side of the chamber with the confidence of somebody who knows exactly what they’re looking for, and soon, he finds it. The outline of the portal on the floor is faint against the darkness, only to light up when the boy steps in it. Regarding the rest of the group with a stern expression, he releases a breath that's a little more shaky than it's supposed to be. It's difficult to find relief in familiar sights with the knowledge of what they might hold, and yet.... ]

Come! The Vermilion Peristylium is normally off-limits, so we aren't meant to stay here, especially if the Crystal stops supplying the portals with energy. I... I'm not sure what we will find beyond this point, but we need to move while this one is still accessible.

Reno -- Amatomnes - WARNINGS IN SUB-THREADS

Reno remembered the Interdimensional Rift from the sage's vision, or at least opening it. He'd been working on opening it again in Palitutu's laboratory, whether that was a smart decision or not. But he understood the basic principle -- it would be a way to cross the divide to return to their world, or presumably any world, from Crystallis. So it could be assumed that these portals would lead to those other worlds. Too bad he couldn't see where the portals led.

He'd just have to go with his gut. Reno took a breath and stepped through.

He, and the Heroes who go with him, arrive in a dark, Greco-Roman style temple. Distantly, they can hear the call of gulls and smell the salt of the sea. The temple is surprisingly empty but for a large altar, holding two candles and a lily, and a few other sparse decorations of death. It is unnaturally cold.

"Oh shit..." he whispered. This was not the world he wanted.

Cloud looked around curiously at the space around them. The place seemed quiet and peaceful enough, but that chill did cut into his bones and gave him a sense of unease.

If they had truly been taken to the Interdimensional Rift, then these portals must surely lead to their home worlds. It only made sense. Interdimensional Rift... It even sounded pretentious, like a phrase they would use at Sphere Corporation.

Albel had been to space, he'd been on a moon -- he'd been told his whole life was a lie. This was just more of the same. With allies... no, friends... at his side, he would return to Airyglyph to retrieve the one thing that he was certain would help him. It could fight the Vendeeni, it could fight the Executioners, and surely it would defend Crystallis against the Calamity. Perhaps the contraption that had brought Cliff and Fayt to his world could help the others.

Unfortunately, when he stepped through the door, he didn't see the landscape of Elicoor. The Heroes arrived in a world of bright, shining colors, the air filled with cheerful instrumental music. The sky twinkled with a synthetic sparkle, the walls and even the floor had a translucent glow. It was disconcerting, to say the least, walking on what appeared to be glass with the nebulous ether of the unknown below that.

Albel had forgotten what a headache this place gave him. He winced and massaged his eyes.

Albel wasn't alone in his discomfort, although in Vincent's case it was seen in a slow blink more than anything else. Ophelia wasn't nearly as stoic though and wrinkled her nose a bit, fur fluffing up slightly. Yes, she'd grown up near Trano Golsaucia, but she'd gotten used to the peace and quiet in the house (Yuffie's presence aside), and the relative calmness that was Aquares Ixen. The little moogle hunkered more on Vincent's shoulder, wrapping her scarf more around her ears and head.

At least the music was slightly less annoying than that found on the Gold Saucer. Obnoxiously cheery perhaps, but to Vincent it seemed to be more of an electronically-based cheer in the tones, rather than the festival-like bells and clamor from the Amusement park on Gaia. Tolerable for now, even if he sympathized with Albel's reaction.

Sheena - Aselia/Tethe'alla/Sylvarant - (Expect to hear all three)

Dimensional travel really wasn't anything new to Sheena--she had done it before even coming to Crystallis and encountering Palitutu. Dimensional gates had linked Tethe'alla and Sylvarant, making travel possible between the two worlds for those who needed to. Clear destination with every trip.

Not like now, traveling through the Interdimensional Rift. And the name explained why. You really had no clue exactly where you would wind up.

But this time, the moment Sheena stepped out of the portal, she knew exactly where they were, and she stopped, causing Corrine to fly into her as she stiffened while a power and presences she hadn't felt for a long time returned to her. Seeing a well-traveled dirt road before her, she followed it with her eyes, smiling when she saw the two-story building it led to, looking like a hut out in the wilderness in its solitude. Whirling about, she grinned at the others.

"Guys! We're on my world! We're on Tethe...Aselia!"

Sheena was so happy to be back home that she hadn't even noticed if there were those other than who traveled with her in the area. Kind of a bad move on her part, since she really should be on the lookout for those who know her, so she could dodge them and avoid any confusion later with herself that was already here.

And that was what she was focusing on--finding out the date so she would know the other her's movements.

Besides, what were the chances that she'd run into someone she knew as soon as she appeared here? Especially one who had been on Crystallis before?
