He didn't question the window entrance; he often returned home by sneaking through the window nearest the stairs that lead to the basement to avoid detection by his father, and when there was no angry old man waiting for him on the other side of the walls, this was pretty fun. "Sorry for coming here so suddenly. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Those were the first two polite phrases that came to his mind. They flowed perfectly well, right?
