[After the turbulent introduction of new heroes early this month, Squall is glad to find himself at home for at least a few hours. Between finding Zell awake, dealing with the aftermath of Palitutu’s plans and avoiding Selphie for her little sleep spell trick, Squall is happy find some solace in his home.
But even home, Squall finds himself working. On his kitchen table is a litter of maps and books that all have to do with Crystallis and the cities and towns inside of it. Squall has only been here for a few months, and compared to some other residents he doesn’t know as much as the others.
With the calamity getting worse, Squall is brainstorming a trip to visit the various effected sites.
His friends might find a way inside or he might answer the door. Either way, he can be found studying.]
[ OPEN; House A-04 ]
[Squall’s home is one of the smaller ones at the end of the block. It only houses two people but that suits Squall just fine. For all he knows as of right now he’s the sole occupant.
One (you) might be walking by when a loud bang is heard from the house and a stream of thick black smoke starts emanating from the back.
Following the smoke to the backyard is Squall and his Magitek Armor. He has grease smeared across his cheek as he holds a wrench and has a rather annoyed look on his face. The giant piece of gear sits smoking with a pile of ice elemental components stacked neatly next to it.]

[ Closed to Akane; University Training Rooms ]
[ As per contract, Squall is waiting for Akane to show up for her lessons. He’s slightly unsure about how to go about the entire lesson but he has some ideas on what to teach. Squall doesn’t think he’s a very good teacher. He’s a commander, he tells people what to do for a living, so that can’t be much different than teaching. ...Right?
Either way, he’s getting paid for this so he can’t complain. Whatever. A job is a job.
Squall is waiting for her in the designated room, dressed in simple black sweat pants and a white t shirt. After all, basics don’t require any armor or heavy gear. And if Akane needs help as she claims she does, this is fine for now.]
[ OPEN; Training Rooms ]
[Squall is a Warrior and a Magitek Knight. He can be found at various times of the day on several days of the week taking advantage of the training rooms.
In one instance he can be found in a training room practicing his sword skills. Specifically his Warrior skills. He’s adept already and quite talented. He moves with precision and ease. If you’re looking for a sparring partner he’s more than likely to take you up on the offer.
The second instance you might find him in is the target practice room. Indeed using his gunblade to take out targets with various elemental bullets. The shooting is loud but watching, you’ll find that Squall’s accuracy is near perfect. He wouldn’t be opposed to discussions on gunblades or other like weapons.]

After her little stint putting him to sleep in the middle of a crisis situation he has no desire to speak with her. Maybe if he ignored her long enough she would just go away.

Apparently though, Selphie would have to beat it into his thick, stubborn skull about trusting his friends and leaning on them instead of trying to do it all on his own again. Most people would probably try to break into the house or pick the lock on the door.
Selphie has another idea.]

[A pause.] Chocoboman.

Then a pause and that name. His eyebrow twitches.

Hopping down the steps to stand in the centre of the street that was slowly filling up with people, Selphie clears her throat and in her most theatrical voice began the thrilling tale of Squall from their childhood.]
Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, today I have a harrowing tale of suspense, drama and true love~
[Selphie casts an impish grin at Squall's door.]
Allow me to tell you the story of a Hero of Light from his younger years. Back before he was known as a SeeD Commander, he was known by another name. Complete in his adorable Chocobo Pajama Onesie and with a bright yellow towel tied around his neck, the protect of all Chocobo's from the dreaded Chocobo Hunters was born. He loved his Chocobo's so much that he felt compelled to protect them all from the Hunters.
With a mighty bellow, our hero chased after the Hunters for he wouldn't let them hurt his beloved Chocobos. The Hunter gawked at our hero, thinking that a mere child could do them no harm. But no! Oh how they were wrong! Our brave hero tackled the hunters to the ground and ran the Hunters out of his forest. Nobody would dare attack his precious Chocobos on his watch ever again!
And thus, CHOCOBOMAN was born!

[What the hell is Selphie thinking?! Screaming out those stupid stories of when he was a kid like that? He has neighbors! A reputation! And now everyone is staring and Squall feels his back go tense as all eyes fall on him and he sees people chuckling a looking curious.
Usually. Squall is a calm, collected person. But this...
He stomps over and grabs her and without a word starts for his house and literally tosses her inside before slamming the door shut.]

[Selphie stumbled backward and landed in the chair that Squall had discarded with a painful thud. He's asking her what the hell was she doing?]
What the hell was I doing?
[She stood up and glared at him, hands balled into tight fists.]
After everything that we've been through together. After everything we did and you're still going around acting like you can't trust your friends?! Why can't you just trust me a little more?
[She looked at Squall and gave him an extremely unimpressed look.]
You don't have to do everything by yourself anymore. I'm here. Zell's here. We're your friends aren't we? We've got your back no matter what happens.
[Her hands were shaking with suppressed anger.]
Why do you have to be such a stick in the mud?! Maybe if you just opened the damned door instead of trying to avoid me because you looked like you were going to murder somebody, I wouldn't have to cast a fucking sleep spell on you because I was worried about you!

When she was finished he is silent for a moment. He then sighs deeply.]
...Selphie, I'm tired.
[He looks away from her.]
This entire place has me on edge. Being toted from here back home then back here is not something I'm taking well. I'm worried about home. When Zell got here he treated me like I was an alien and then accused me of being someone I wasn't. This calamity is getting worse and no one is doing a damn thing right. There are people who know me from other timelines I know nothing about. ...I'm tired of hearing about other me's and I'm tired about worrying.
[She wanted truth? She's getting it.]
Wanting to be alone is how I deal with things, you can't ask me to not to be who I am. I get that you're trying to help and... I'm sorry.
[He shifts awkwardly, crossing his arms. He knew she was right, that he had to trust her more and rely on her more. She was the only person here that didn't treat him differently. Things were working out with Zell but things still needed to be said.]
I'm just...tired.
[He's bad at apologizing. He's doing his best.]

One day, I woke up on the other side of Crystallis with my housemates. We wound up in a village that had people that looked like you, like Irvine, like everybody. It was weird and that stuff that Zell experienced... I don't really remember it. It doesn't change the fact that you're not those people. To me, you'll always be Squall, one of my best friends and a rock when the rest of us are freaking out...
[Selphie sighed and looked up at Squall. It was time that she was honest too.]
I'm not good at what you're good at, okay? But you're not the only person who's tired. I don't know how to get us home and the people that do are holed up in the lab trying to figure it out. The only thing that I'm good at is supporting others and helping them.
[Selphie pulled her hands back and dropped her head.]
So let me help you already... please. I'm tired of not being able to do anything but smile and be everybody's sunshine.

He finally looks back at her when she lets go and he’s silent for a moment. She’d always been like this. Always acting like she had to be this giant beacon of sunshine. In his opinion that must be exhausting to keep up all the time. But she seemed to always thrive when she could help people.
He reaches out and pats her head.]
...Just keep doing what you’re best at, then. [He says quietly, meaning he’s relenting to her help.] We’ll figure out the rest of it as it comes.

[Selphie turns to look at the books and the map littering the table. This is something that she should've done a long time ago in case any of her friends every showed up but it's something that can be changed now. Pointing at the map, she points toward the Heran Region on the map. It looks like an older map as she presses a finger down over the Heran Research Facility.]
That's where I woke up the first time I was brought here. They wanted to experiment on the heroes but we all fought our way out of there to get to Aqures Ixen. When we escaped from that place, I remember looking down and seeing the crystal growing.
I can ask around for more info if you want.

[Selphie hadn't been there long enough to be experimented on directly but the only person that she could recall that was there is currently in Crystal Stasis.]
I wasn't experimented on directly. Unless you consider horrible food an experiment but Yuffie would've been able to tell you more. She was there when Zell and I were forced to awaken. That's also why my Crystal is white and not Red like yours is.
I might have beaten somebody up though...
[Selphie grinned sheepishly before looking at Squall with a matter-of-fact look on her face.]

More information would be great. Aside from that I want to check out some more areas effected by the calamity. I have a lot to catch up on.
