Babysitting Weapons of Mass Destruction
WHO: Lust, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ira, Sheena Fujibayashi, Vincent Valentine, Selphie Tilmitt
WHAT: Cid has assigned various heroes to guard the remains of the Ultima WEAPON that were salvaged after their battle. Suspicious people try to sneak close, but they fail to be caught.
WHEN: September 11th - 13th
WHERE: Aqures Ixen - 12th District
Here sat the broken pieces of the enormous machine known as the Ultima WEAPON. The Heroes had gone through a lot of trouble to secure it, and even more trouble to subdue it. Now it sat sadly in a heap of wreckage at the airship ports, with few visitors save the occasional Hypello or dock rat.
This was what the Heroes had to guard. Prepare for boredom.
[OOC: Each Hero guard gets their own thread below. Pair up with whoever you want for guard duty CR!]

[Granted, the first time was his own fault, but the second time was cheating in his humble opinion. Waving it off, he pretends not to really care.]
Though if you must know, group of scientists figured they'd play at gods and attempted to condense all living souls into one person. They instantly regretted that decision, or would have, had they all not died as a result.
no subject
[She's starting to pay closer attention to him now. Condensing living souls sounds very familiar to her.]
What were they hoping to even create?
no subject
[He waves it off, though. Foolish scientists undone by their own hubris was something he was intimately familiar with, thanks to the files on him in Palitutu's laboratory.]
Unfortunately the only one who could answer that fully is the very person forever trapped in the machine, or others who weren't "lost". My guess though, was immortality.
no subject
[She bends one knee and leans against it, the breeze stirring her thick waves of black hair.]
A pity. You haven't checked your file to see if any further information could be obtained?
no subject
[He runs a hand through his bangs briefly, pushing them out of the way so he could see better. Not that he really needed to, just yet.]
Oh, I have. Was a bit more hefty in the past tense rather than present or future.
no subject
[She chuckles. What a strange youth.]
How disappointing, then. You read it through all the way to the end? I'm impressed, most people don't care to know how their lives will end.
no subject
[Oh Lust, and you've only seen the tip of the Strangeness Iceberg... Though don't mind him holding off on the second comment, aside from the shrug. He has to admit his curiosity, and the bad vibes he's sensing.]
no subject
[She doesn't really care what he thinks of her, since he doesn't seem useful, but she does find it entertaining to talk about humanity with someone who isn't all sparkles and rainbows too.]
no subject
[What can he say? He's just full of surprises.]
I've seen enough of how idiotic most can get.
no subject
[Are they going to bond together by bitching over how much humans suck? Awww~]
To say nothing of idiocy, as you mentioned. Are you human?
[Because he has more in common with a homunculus than the average idealistic human she tends to encounter more often than not. Naturally, she has to ask.]
no subject
[Not that he sounds like he cares about calling them out on it, even if he was just as much an idiot before... No, he wasn't going to think on it. Instead, he'll answer the question simply:]
No, I'm not.
no subject
[She glances away, resting her chin in her hand and leaning back on the other. He has a certain detachment that's more than a little familiar to her, so she had to inquire.]
May I ask what you are, then?
no subject
[He did enjoy his little secrets, but his nature? Well, it's not as if his chosen name was never an indication. Both here and in the world he resided in previously. With all the crap he's put up with before, whatever she thinks she can get over him because of it, it likely wouldn't affect him as much.
Or who knows? It may just be his paranoia talking.]
There's a few words for it: replica, puppet, toy... [a dry smirk] I prefer Ira.
no subject
Do you have the desire to become human?
[Or does he already have the ability to feel things that she just can't?]
no subject
Why do you care?
[Yet the tone, the defensiveness... There's no doubt about it if she reads between the lines.
Damn it, it's been three years, so why? Why does it still seem so fresh...?]
no subject
[She doesn't seem to be the slightest bit ruffled by his sudden defensiveness. If anything, she looks amused.]
If our desires are the same, then shouldn't we pursue them as one?
[Lust holds up her palm in a dismissive shrug.]
It isn't as if the Philosopher's Stone can only grant one person's wish. We could both be human, were we able to secure it.
no subject
... Let me think on it.
[He's spent months having accepted that it never would be, so the prospect that it could is a little... overwhelming.]
no subject
[She relaxes, apparently letting the subject slip away.]
Just don't expect me to wait too long. My patience does have its limits, and I'd like to move forward for my own purposes.
