Babysitting Weapons of Mass Destruction
WHO: Lust, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ira, Sheena Fujibayashi, Vincent Valentine, Selphie Tilmitt
WHAT: Cid has assigned various heroes to guard the remains of the Ultima WEAPON that were salvaged after their battle. Suspicious people try to sneak close, but they fail to be caught.
WHEN: September 11th - 13th
WHERE: Aqures Ixen - 12th District
Here sat the broken pieces of the enormous machine known as the Ultima WEAPON. The Heroes had gone through a lot of trouble to secure it, and even more trouble to subdue it. Now it sat sadly in a heap of wreckage at the airship ports, with few visitors save the occasional Hypello or dock rat.
This was what the Heroes had to guard. Prepare for boredom.
[OOC: Each Hero guard gets their own thread below. Pair up with whoever you want for guard duty CR!]

Lust
[At least, that's how it appears. With a job like this, she thought being an Overlord was better suited to the task than an Alchemist might be. The real Lust isn't far away, having manipulated reality to her liking so she can keep a better eye on the weapon from a safe enough distance, and thus make sure she sees anyone who takes an unhealthy or keen interest in the device.]
[But it's still boring.]
[Her illusion can carry on conversations with anyone else she winds up working with, but don't expect her to say anything nice to the majority of those assigned to guard duty. There was only one among them who'd been neutral enough not to earn her disgust.]

As it is, he's half leaning against the longpole he'd received with the Job, occasionally glancing up to the illusion of the instigator of the whole mess. If he didn't want that paladin job so badly he would have left the moment he noticed her.]
Can't be the most sturdy of places to linger.
[Oh look, a single tiny sprout of caring finally began to poke through the soil in his garden of f[KUPO!]s to give. If only he still had access to his darkness-sense right now so he could see it was misplaced...]

[Her voice is calm and smooth, a velvet purr that does nothing to disguise her nonchalance. She doesn't seem like she's due for a fall, and she'd almost be insulted by the belief that she might...if she ever took offense to anything. She didn't look down at him, still gazing out over the city. But the real Lust was paying attention, her arms folded, one eyebrow arched.]
This spot affords a better vantage point. It's easier to see anyone who's stupid enough to approach.
[Her hand falls away from her chin to slide back, allowing her to recline on her palms.]
So. What are you getting out of this?

[When it seems like dawn has begun, the Lust sitting on the armor arches her back and stretches herself.]

[Perched a bit higher on the weapon, the little moogle crouched as best as her little body allowed, her Assassin hood tugged nice and low.]

Ira
Believing Dragoon would likely be a better idea to equip, in case the speed was needed, he stood near the wreck, occasionally looking about for anything unusual.
He sighed.] Beats the shop, I guess...
Re: Ira
She raises a hand in greeting as she wanders up.]
At least if things are quiet in a case like this it usually means nothing has gone wrong.
Re: Ira
Yet. [She gets a nod out of him in greeting.] Call me paranoid, but things rarely stay quiet with my luck.

Selphie
Hmmmm...
[She eventually settles herself on part of the arm and scowls at the remains of the turret that had almost taken her out of the battle entirely.]
Cid must have a sick sense of humor...
Re: Selphie
[Doesn't mean it isn't boring as the Underworld on a slow day, though.]

[Selphie smiled at her fellow guard. She knew her fair chunk of the other heroes but she'd never encountered Ira before.]
Yeah, it makes sense. Besides, I'm pretty sure that the military has already salvaged all the usable parts already. The rest of the WEAPON is just scrap.

Finally tagging!
You honestly think he has one?
[ She nods to the machine. ]
Though, with someone having disappeared during the battle, it makes sense. They may want it back.

Still, Sheena's still going to move, as she paces back and forth, practicing the Disguise skill of the Illusionist Job. At each turn, she's someone else--until she grows bored with it and takes up residence on the WEAPON's arm. ]
Do you really need guarded, big fella? Or is Cid just being Cid?

[Says the Dragoon who refuses to even touch the wreckage.]

He keeps a safe distance from the WEAPON, but his expression is serious as he looks it over, taking in the wreckage of the great thing they so recently fought.]

Vincent
Re: Vincent
Nice one. I almost feel sorry for that bit of dock.
[He'd join in on the practicing, but he really only has one weapon to throw. So, favorite pastime of snarking his elders it is!]

You are definitely getting better at that! It doesn't cover as much distance as a bullet does, but this will be a good backup for you. [ She grins. ] How are you at concealing knives?
