Babysitting Weapons of Mass Destruction
WHO: Lust, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ira, Sheena Fujibayashi, Vincent Valentine, Selphie Tilmitt
WHAT: Cid has assigned various heroes to guard the remains of the Ultima WEAPON that were salvaged after their battle. Suspicious people try to sneak close, but they fail to be caught.
WHEN: September 11th - 13th
WHERE: Aqures Ixen - 12th District
Here sat the broken pieces of the enormous machine known as the Ultima WEAPON. The Heroes had gone through a lot of trouble to secure it, and even more trouble to subdue it. Now it sat sadly in a heap of wreckage at the airship ports, with few visitors save the occasional Hypello or dock rat.
This was what the Heroes had to guard. Prepare for boredom.
[OOC: Each Hero guard gets their own thread below. Pair up with whoever you want for guard duty CR!]

[Says the Dragoon who refuses to even touch the wreckage.]
--I'd say it's probably a mix of "both."

That's what I was thinking. [ She looks up at the thing. ] Still... I thought I saw someone trying to get close earlier, but when I stopped to get a closer look... No one was there.
[ She looks back at him. ]
Have you seen anyone?
no subject
[He shrugs slightly.]
One or two instances, but the same thing happened then as well. They were too fast to catch up to even with the speed this Job allows.
[And he may or may not be slightly peeved by this, too. If only he had his ability to warp like he did back home...]
no subject
Yeah. It makes me wonder if they have some kind of Job, too. It also makes me wish I had Ninja instead of Ghostbuster equipped. [ She's also sounding peeved because Smoke Bomb... She tilts her head and looks at him. ]
So...what jobs do you have?
[ Why not? They can learn about things this way. ]
no subject
[At the question though, he visibly tenses. Well, at least she doesn't give him the same kind of vibe that Lust did.]
On me? Dragoon and Red Mage. [Because like he'd ever make use of Crystal Researcher.] You?
no subject
[ Something that makes her wonder about her own theory.
Seeing him tense, she looks at him, confused. She didn't mean to upset him and is about to tell him that when he answers. ]
Me? Well, like I said, I have Ghostbuster and with it, Illusionist. Such an odd combination, right?
[ Yeah, Crystal Researcher went the way of the Dodo with her. ]
no subject
[He wouldn't mind hearing this theory.]
A bit, but I bet there's even weirder out there.
[They should form a club over how much they would make it extinct.]
no subject
[ It's about who can actually equip and unequip jobs and if natives need a Moogle to do it. Just a theory, that's all. ]
Yeah. But at least it helps hide this: [ There's a fading effect around her back as her "clothes" disappear, revealing the proton pack, PKE meter, and radio. Almost instantly, they're "gone" again. ]
Weird, but kinda fun. What's Red Mage like? I've been thinking of asking for that one.
no subject
Yeah, you do kinda stick out with that getup.
[Not like all of them don't do that already, but still!]
Eh, from what I gather it's an odd mix of Warrior, White and Black Mage... Not really all that powerful on its own, but figured it'd be best to try it before either, you know? Not the best experience with learning magic in my own world that wasn't straight darkness.
[Read: He failed miserably at trying to cast regular Fire for a good two weeks. Silly purple fireballs.]
It's not that bad. Dualcast seems the most useful of the skills, though.
no subject
Yeah, just a little.
[ She laughs as she says this, knowing full well that it's pretty much a lost cause, but still... It lets her practice her other skill.
She immediately becomes interested in what he's telling her, smiling widely when he's done. ]
I already have Warrior, but I don't have any other Mage jobs... [ She chuckles sheepishly. ] Any magic I do have is with a fighting Job...like Warrior or Ninja. And I know what you mean about magic. Although I could Summon on my world, I couldn't perform magic, so it was a whole new experience for me. Good thing I practiced in the forest...
[ No people had been hurt during her practice times--unless it had been a spar. ]
"Dualcast"? Wait... Two spells at once?
no subject
[Because it was much easier to hide away there than a meadow. Less eyes to witness any magic lessons, too.]
Yeah. That's it exactly.
[He has a good idea once in a while. Obtaining Dualcast for its usefulness was probably just one of them in a long list of bad life choices.]
no subject
[ Which hadn't been all the time, mind you.
She shakes her head in wonder. ]
Wow. What's that like? Being able to cast two spells at one time?
[ Even at her fastest, there's always a lull between what she can do. ]
