"What woes may come of inaction, though?" She shook her head though, and sighed. "Well- we've come. May as well hear what he's decided to say."

In her anger, she'd almost crushed the cute little cloth-wrapped bundle cradled in her arm. Realizing this, she snapped out of her rant and smiled sheepishly, holding it out to Moglin.
"Oh, uh, I made this for you guys. Thanks for inviting us over. They're chocolate chip muffins, baked them just before we came!" She hadn't really been sure what kind of etiquette they should practice, but they'd been invited over to someone's house, so she wanted to make sure she was a good guest. "I'll help you clean this up after the meeting, too." There wasn't much she could do about the broken statues, but with a little elbow grease she was pretty sure she could get the fallen statue upright again, and sweep up the broken glass before someone got hurt.

"What are the chances this meeting isn't already a trap?" He then glanced down at Moglin, except his words were aimed at nobody in particular. He didn't expect their Moogle host to know anything more than they did regarding the Sage's intentions, so it was merely a possibility voiced out loud. "We all wish to participate, as long as the discussion allows both parties to speak on equal grounds."
no subject
"I would say that I'd be perfectly happy to listen so long as the Sage doesn't make my daughter cry again." A long drag of the cigarette. "But she's unable to join us now. So I guess it's all good then, isn't it?" Despite his anger, Kaji is still here because of the four people depicted in those statues. This might be the place to get any last answers on the black crystals.

Perhaps it was time to justify their fears when this meeting was concluded.

He replied with a hand to his head as he looked around the mess. The answers at least were helpful to him to some extent. That moogle wasn't completely useless. He turns his head back to Rukia as she spoke to him and ushering him to move forward. Of course, he doesn't really fight it as he starts taking a few steps forward while acknowledging what everyone else is saying for a brief moment. There's honestly too many of them here, but it's not like it's a surprise anymore.
"It's just as what that thing said, someone probably threw a tantrum and blew up a chunk of the place while we were all MIA, to say the least."
He answered Selphie with a brief sigh.
"Trap or not, doesn't really matter. It only gets worse doesn't it?"
After all he didn't believe in any of this getting any better. He started up the staircase ahead of Lust by a few steps since Rukia was already making an effort for him to move.

The Sage was standing before the shelves, but this time he turned around to greet the Heroes as they entered the hall.
"Don't close the door behind you, some are late."

Team Diplomat to action again, then. "We'll be glad to listen to whoever you have in mind." A quick glance around the room for Ramza and Chrom, the Lady Ashelia, Yuna, the others who have been willing to talk before any fight. He finds himself looking for K'pandolu and Nanami, too.

He then turned to Moglin as they continued to scale the stairs, "But no, there had to be something else going on. Some outside force acting in. Some doubts about it all. Maybe even something controlling them. I don't believe that just learning something could make someon-" He stopped in his tracks, feeling the bottom fall out of his gut. It wasn't that he didn't believe it. He didn't WANT to believe it, and for a very personal reason...and even if it wasn't going to be his personal future, it did seem one that insisted on occurring. He lagged behind a moment, lost in his thoughts before running to catch up, scooting through the door just as the Sage commented on some being late.

"I wouldn't be expecting all of us. A fair few decided not to attend after what happened last time. Depending on how all of this goes today you may care to pen them an apology."

For now, he greeted the Avatar with a brief nod and settled in to wait.
no subject
"Indeed, we have come to listen to what you might say, and we pray you will return to us that courtesy. We have questions still in need of answer."
no subject
Mikleo replied to him. At least, he opt to speak in a formal way compared to what he was going to initially say. He can't say he's happy about the ordeal or even meeting the avatar in person, but if they are going to give him answers or clues, he's going to take them to heart and do what he can to try and stop the Calamity with everyone else. Of course, this whole vision thing was new to him. He's never experienced it but he's heard of it from the times he spends in the library.

Especially when he mentions others are coming.
Circling around the others quietly, she keeps an eye on the Sage, watching his reactions to what the other Heroes are saying.

The Sage looked idly at the door before turning to the Heroes who mentioned wanting answers. In particular, his gaze stopped on Mikleo.
“If you cannot solve the puzzles, you cannot understand the knowledge you seek nor can you use it correctly.”
With that said he turned back to one of the shelves before continuing.
“By now you have heard of the Calamity half that sleeps within you. I can explain you how to master it, as I had planned, or I can answer your questions.”
no subject
That sounded like the Sage, alright. As stingy with information as ever. Jade glanced at the others before voicing his opinion. They had leads to follow on most other things, but when it came to these Calamity fragments -- their Shadows -- they had nothing but the badly damaged video from Kalki to go on.
"I was planning to ask you about facing our Shadows anyway, so that suits me fine."
no subject
"Alright, no one has any questions to ask, right?" And he pulls out his weapons to prove his point. "Riiiiight?"
no subject
"Discussing and mastering these Shadows seems like a viable option anyway, I can imagine we would have to eventually." Though, it made her wonder if it was anything similar to what had happened with the other Heroes almost a year ago.
no subject
"For once, I actually agree with these people. Sounds like a lot is ridin' on this inner Calamity nonsense, so let's deal with that first."
no subject
But...everyone else did not seem to be of the same mind as the information-starved bard. She did remember that video (and the haunting melody she'd heard too), and she also recalled that Palitutu had said it was one of the necessary elements of defeating the Calamity.
With a forlorn sigh, Rialynn put down her pen. "Could we maybe ask some questions afterward, please? Like...where to find the last piece of the key, how to find the other crystals, and what we can use the moon base for? Stuff like that?"
