Summary: Nothing much. Just hanging.

[Flynn was in deep thought after the events of the meeting. There was a sense of urgency, and after being here for a while, it really felt like it wouldn't last forever. Strength, was it the answer? The bonds between people? Using the systems of this land to change everything up? There were too many variables and Flynn still felt like he knew next to nothing of how to go about dealing with all of this. But at least from all of this, he felt like he knew himself a little better. It was better than nothing. And if nothing else, he was glad he could spend the last days among his friends as Flynn Scifo, not a Commandant.]

Looks like you're here to blow off some steam.

[ Never mind that the end of the world is approaching and Yuri looked as carefree as ever with Repede trailing behind him. He waves his hand at his best friend for a moment before approaching him. ]

Mind if I join you?

You don't even have to ask.

[~~Not that Yuri usually did.~~]

You want to use the practice sword or your real one?

Probably not but I figured I'd try.

[ He chuckled. He never did actually. It was one of those times he thought about it but the question came out more like a statement than a question. ]

You want it to be a spar or you need to blow off some steam?

Either way works for me, but when did we ever hold back against one another?

It's been a while since we've had a serious duel. What say we see if you can start a winning streak?

Who knows? Maybe you've gone soft on me.

[ Yuri shrugged dismissively as he grinned at Flynn. Why not engage him more right? ]

I'll tell ya I've improved way more than you think. I'll make sure this one's a keeper.

[ For that he tosses the sheath of his sword to the side and hangs the weapon over his shoulder. ]

Bring it.

[Without further ado, Flynn darted forth with a quick lunge - he knew Yuri wouldn't succumb to such a basic opening move, but once he moved, Flynn would plan his next course of action.]

[ Yuri's sheathed weapon comes straight up to parry Flynn's assault following a huge push to parry the other swordsman. He was so very used to Flynn jumping at him. He wasn't going to back down obviously. ]

[Of course Yuri would parry it. That wasn't much of a surprise, considering Flynn's opening attack was like waving around a gigantic flag. But at least it got things started. He attempted to use the force of the clash between his blade and his opponent's scabbard to keep contact, and attempt to use the friction to force the scabbard out of Yuri's hand and off to the side. Not that it would do much good if it succeeded, considering Yuri usually kept the string of the scabbard attached to his person. But one less obstacle was just what he may need, as Flynn raised his shield simultaneously to give Yuri a blind spot before Flynn attempted a quick sweep with his foot to hopefully catch him off-balance.]

[ Yuri smugly grinned at Flynn when he parried the blade with his sheath. He was right, Yuri always had that thing tied to his wrist so using it as a catalyst wasn't too bad. Eventually the scabbard was forced off of him enough so the blade was drawn but the scabbard was discarded quickly since Yuri wasn't planning on keeping it sheathed for long anyway.

For the sweeping, Yuri used the shield as a wall to flip off of backwards and away from the swipe at his feet. When he landed back he jumped straight at Flynn with quick vertical slash. ]

[There was a resounding clash as the blade hit Flynn's breastplate, and Flynn went with it to put some distance between him and Yuri before firming his footing and rebounding at an angle to thrust his blade toward his hand. A flesh wound would at least incapacitate him, and would easily be healed. With an injured hand you couldn't wield a blade, after all.]

[ That's dirty, Flynn.

Of course Yuri isn't going to let him incapacitate him so early in the fight. Yuri flipped back before the blade could connect with his hand because he honestly didn't need that. He skidded back a few feet now giving the two of them even more distance. ]

You sure like to play dirty.

It's not so much a matter of "liking" than it is that I need to find a way to turn everything you know about my fighting style on its head.

[Yuri knew him too well. In order to surprise him, Flynn had to pull off some unconventional moves.]

You've improved as well.

Clever guy aren't you?

[ Yuri laughed. ]

It makes sense why trying to beat you is always a pain in the ass!

[ Yuri didn't wait for Flynn to do anything else, he's already lunging at his friend full force and preparing to feint Flynn. ]
