A Whole New World (Of Escape Rooms)
Who: Aoi ‘Santa’ Kurashiki, OPEN
What: A thrilling chase, a wondrous place…where characters are now locked up until they puzzle their way out. Don’t worry. This is fun. This is what fun looks like.
When: In the later part of Feb, before Apocalyptic stuff starts going down.
Where: Aqures Ixen, an abandoned building.
[The letter Santa sent to the various Heroes of Light directed them to a building in the Sixth District, still in shambles from the Empire’s attack. The building in question seemed sturdy enough to enter, but showed signs of obvious disrepair. A perfect place to have a fun-filled evening.
He had been tinkering off and on inside for a few months, just to give himself something to focus on. And if he’d made all these puzzles anyways, there didn’t seem any reason not to test them out. It might be good practice for some of the Heroes on how to use their brains. Besides, he wasn’t forcing anyone into itthis time. It was all strictly volunteer basis, the people who thought this kinda thing was fun.
When enough Heroes assembled, he stood up in front of the doors to the building.]
Ok, chumps, here’s the deal. You’re gonna go in, and I’m gonna lock the doors. There’s a bunch of puzzles inside with the keys you need to get out. There’s clues to help ya out if you need, and I’ll let you call me in for a hint three times. Other than that, you get out when you solve the puzzles. Simple as that. I don’t wanna hear any whining, ‘kay?
[A people person, Aoi Kurashiki was not. Let the games begin.]

K'pandolu looks over at Akane, ears up.]
That's pretty clever.
[She turns towards Lydia, ears up, curious.]
I don't think I've heard that one before. I wonder… Both of those lead to destruction, right? Should we take that to mean they'll work to our purpose, or against them?
[she takes the wire cutters, holding them so the others can see.] These look as though they should be fit for the task.

[ He puts a hand under his chin as things were set into motion. While he was looking around everyone seemed to have solved some of the puzzles already. Everyone seemed to have grasped the situation better than he did since their knowledge in technology and other worldly poetry seemed more logical int his situation. ]

As the Heroes use the wire cutters on the red and then blue wire, the Cancer sign lights. Once both have been snipped, there is an anticlimactic moment of silence...and then, the mechanical scorpion's tail slumps and the lights in its eyes dim. Something falls out from beneath the figure. It's the Scorpio Key!
And thanks to the fact that the Heroes did not cut the yellow wire, the scorpion's self-destruct feature does not activate, and no Heroes are harmed. This is a safe and fun game with no small bombs hidden anywhere. Just good, old fashioned, non-murder puzzles here.]

Looks like we're making good progress here.
[He looks around at the other puzzles, trying to piece things together.]
Stop the scorpion...but we still need to save the ram with the antidote I guess?
[At first he thought the whole thing would lead to shutting the scorpion down but clearly there was more than one part to all of this. He goes back to inspect the snakes, to try to figure out what putting all the labels in their proper place might have unlocked. Or maybe it was something that would need to be taken in context with some other puzzle's solution.]
(ooc: what else do we need to solve left?)
Jaune is the new master of unlocking
I've got a key if any needs anything... unlocked.
[As if that weren't self-explanatory.
He checks the door, making sure they haven't missed a key-hole in that area and that there really is just a card reader in that area.]
be the keymaster
[actually, let her go see if that's possible.]

[Which means someone has to stick their hand into a glass box with some poisonous snakes.]
[Someone.]
[...]
Mikleo, would you mind letting me talk the pill puzzle through with you? I want to make sure I've got the theory right before using the scales, since we only get three tries before the scale breaks.
[Brave hero Akane is not, no snakes please.]

Pinkie and Sue you said, Akane?
[Confirming, before Lydia is reaching out to grab the containers with the antidotes. She might be smiling, and talking to the snakes while doing so. "Hey there Pinkie, Hey Sue. I hope you guys were treated well for this. I definitely appreciate you helping us have some fun though."]

Jaune can look by the door, but as of yet, no keyhole has been revealed.
K'pandolu's search of the ram does not yield any obvious places to administer the antidote as of yet. There is still a seam at the ram's mouth.
With the antidote 2/3rds done, only the pills still need to be added. Time to get working with that scale.]

They're putting up with us pretty well.
[she tilts her head towards Akane, one ear twitching.] How is the scale doing?
[…why is it that shaky, even.]
