The minute Selphie heard Minato, then Sephiroth offer their lives to the Calamity, her eye were widening in shock. Why did the Calamity need more lives? Had it taken enough already? Her head snapped up and locked directly on the Elite, shaking it in disbelief. Wasn't there another way? After all that they had all experienced together, this was the final answer? This entire scenario felt too visceral, too raw to be real. There had to be another way.

The outrage ebbed away into the gnawing realization that this was truly the only way to proceed. She nodded slowly at Sephiroth as she felt her resolve start to crumble. The SeeD's lower lip trembled slightly before she bowed her head in defeat. Her shoulders slumped forward under the heavy burden that scared her more than anything else. There was no hiding her emotions now with the understanding that there was no stopping someone whose resolve was that firm.
