Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:
"Wake up."
Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally wake you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to dock beneath the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.
Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.
Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be any citizens aside from Moogles in the vicinity. Indeed, the population of Aqures Ixen seems to be busy elsewhere in the city-- The Moogle will tell you there currently an event named the Festival of Light, which most people are attending. But you are not alone! It probably will not be long before you realize there are plenty of people like you all around, and if somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. Maybe with their help, you will be able to find out what is happening to you.

— Final Day —
The Festival of Light is a yearly event held at Aqures Ixen to celebrate the victory of the "Heroes of Light" over the "Calamity from the Skies" two thousands years ago, or so do the legends say. Whether people believe in the legends or not, this is an occasion for them to have fun and spend time with family and friends. The Festival is held from the 28th of July to the 3rd of August.
Unfortunately, most attractions and events are over by the third of August. Yet, there is enough to do, should the newly arrived Heroes of Light favor spending time looking at the attractions rather than panicking about their situation. The festival ends at midnight.
Theater Play
— Ninth District || 14:00 —

There is a large theater stage installed in the 9th district-- It is probably only temporary by the look of it. There is quite a crowd seated to watch the play about to unfold, as well as numerous people standing beneath the seats or sitting on the ceilings because they couldn't get a seat. After the audience grows quiet, a woman with long silver hair and green-ish skin steps onto the stage to address the audience.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! Tonight's performance is a story that takes place long, long ago! At the time when the Ancients reigned over the planet, when the Calamities from the Skies landed on this world and waged war against all forms of life. When our story begins, the Ancients are on the brink of extinction and gathering the last of their forces to fight. And now people of Aqures Ixen and visitors from distant lands, we proudly present 'The 4 Heroes of Light'!"
After this, the play starts and will last for roughly one hour and a half. The main characters appear to be four Heroes of Light, respectively dressed as a Warrior, Monk, Black Mage and White Mage. Other characters include the Calamity from the Skies played by the silver-haired woman, an Ancient scientist and the Princess of Crystallis. The story appears to be a highly romanticized version of the tale the Moogles told the characters earlier. As the play unfolds, there is a love story between one of the Heroes of Light, the Warrior, and the Princess of Crystallis. At the end of the play, the Heroes of Light successfully defeat the Calamity from the Skies, but the Warrior has to sacrifice himself and die in order to protect the Princess of Crystallis.
Culinary Attractions
— Fourteenth District || Anytime —
What would a festival be without free food and banquets? Not really a festival. In the fourteenth district, there is a banquet and many stands held by people from all over the world-- People from Balicea, Aerilon, Esdham, Flence, etc. There is even a stand held by former inhabitants of the Empire. All kind of food from all over the world can be found here-- Refined food, pastries, cakes, cooked meals, etc. It's virtually impossible not to find something to like in all of this, and it's all free until midnight!
Competitions
— Tenth & Eight District || 18:00 —

At 18:00, there will be a Blitzball match opposing the teams of Aqures Ixen and Balicea in the Blitzball Stadium. It is more of an exposition match, with nothing to be won aside from glory. Anyone is free to enter the stadium to watch the match. Following this, people - playable characters included - will be allowed to play some Blitzball Match on their own, if they want to try.
At the same time, a Triple Triad competition will be taking place in the eight district, in the campus of the university. Characters are free to enter the Triple Triad tournament, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. With low level cards and whatsoever no experience, odds are that they may lose to much more experienced and competitive players, but what matters is trying, right? Whilst no characters may recognize him yet, it is notable that one of the NPCs, Wedge, is taking part in the competition. It's just a shame knowing he will lose in the semi-finals.
Trano Golsaucia's Stands
— Eleventh District || Anytime —
Specially for the occasions, stallholders from Trano Golsaucia traveled to Aqures Ixen and brought a few attractions to display what they can do. Noticeably, they brought Chocobos and will organize numerous races throughout the day, on an improvised tracks running around the houses. The Heroes of Light are more than welcome to try and bet, should they want to lose (or multiply) what few Gils they have. If they feel adventurous, they may even try to enter one of the races and ride a Chocobo-- At their own risks.
Aside from this, there are some more attractions worthy of attention. There is a shooting stand-- Coincidentally, all the targets are vaguely similar to the main antagonists of numbered Final Fantasy games. There is a treasure chest game, where characters are presented with ten chests and can open only one-- Prizes range from one Gils to gigantic plushie. There is also a fortune teller Moogle, it is notable that his predictions will always include either the character suffering hell or dying soon, in one form or another. Hopefully this moogle is just a scam.
Fireworks
— First District || 23:00 —

What better way to conclude a festival than fireworks? Fireworks will be launched from the Castle of Aqures Ixen starting 23:00, and will end at midnight, at the same time than the festival. No matter where you are in the city, anyone should be able to watch them easilly if they so wish. Unfortunately, it means falling asleep before midnight may be a bit hard with all the noise.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

action or prose, either is fine!
Cosmos? Was that... No, Yuna had felt the cold grip of death wrap around her form. The manikins had been too much, in the end. But there were no feelings of regret, she had given her life alongside of her comrades for a hope that the cycles would finally come to a close. The slightest of smiles traced along her lips, as she hugged herself close. The others... surely with their crystals, they would succeed...
"Wake up, Kupo!"
Drawing in a sharp breath, that feeling of floating suddenly dropped away, a sinking sensation took over as she finally felt the cool ground beneath her. Opening her eyes suddenly, Yuna shot upwards in a seated position, eye wide. Could this be...?
"Good morning!" The moogle came into view, waving its tiny paw.
Looking around, her eyes were drawn first to her clothes. Her summoners robes were gone, replaced with a stark white robe, lined with triangles of red. "Where..."
"Welcome to Aqures Ixen!" cried the moogle, "My name is Momolumi, nice to meetcha!"
•⁰ [ blitzball! ]
Momolumi had given a rather informative speech after that, while Yuna wandered towards what was apparently called the Festival of Light. The Heroes of Light seemed something akin to the chosen warriors of Cosmos. In fact, she wasn't entirely sure yet that the two were even exclusive from one another. Perhaps this place is what awaited them after they found their crystals...
In her pocket, she grasped the shard that she had been presented with protectively.
It was somewhat welcome, actually, that the moogle seemed to be something of a chatterbox, explaining this detail and that as they walked along. As the day drew on, something in the distance caught her eye. "Wait, Momolumi is that -- " There was no mistaking it. A blitzball stadium! Before she had even realized it, Yuna was running towards the sphere, weaving in and out of the crowds as best she could to get closer to the stands.
"Yuna! Wait up, kupo!"
But there was no stopping her -- she cast a quick look over her shoulder to see that he was following her -- just about the time that she collided with what seemed to be a wall of people rushing to their seats. Bouncing off of the collective backs of a crowd, she stumbled backwards with an "Oof!" but caught herself before she fell. "Ah -- I'm sorry," she apologized, bowing slightly, "I wasn't watching where I was going..."
It wasn't a moment later that Momolumi crashed into her, jolting her a half-step forward as he moaned with a "Kupooooo..."
•⁰ [ fireworks! ]
What a day it had been... As the night had finally set in, the unease that Yuna had felt for most of the day seemed to take hold. "I didn't... manage to find any of the others." There had been a faint hope, in learning that Heroes of Light originated from different worlds. There had even been the smallest wish that somewhere in the crowds, he could be found, but... the reality of the situation wasn't as kind.
"Don't give up hope, kupo! Look, the fireworks are starting!"
Raising her head, she was content to be a little ways away from most of the gathering crowds, looking up towards the sky as they began to burst with colour and sparks, like someone casting harmless magic into the atmosphere. "You're right. If there was a way for me to arrive then..." she trailed off, closing her eyes and clutching a fist over her chest. Maybe -- you could make wishes on bursting stars like these, too.
fireworks
Pangs of nostalgia tugged as his heartstrings as he studied her. He'd recognize what she was doing anywhere. Wishing on fireworks... It almost made him want to laugh. Or cry.
"Well, come on," he said to Motley. The moogle floated just behind him, over his left shoulder. "Let's go introduce ourselves."
He headed over in her direction, but he wasn't entirely sure how to avoid startling her when she had her eyes closed like that. His only solution was to not approach her too closely and to speak as disarmingly as possible.
"Making a wish?" he asked.
no subject
Looking back up, with the fireworks still going strong, she swayed just slightly in her position. "I've never... seen a display like this before. I thought that -- there might just be something magical about it, you know?" Her eyes dipped to the side again, her embarrassment creeping back up as the red shaded her face again. Thank goodness for the surrounding darkness that otherwise surrounded them...
It was then that she took note of the moogle. "Oh, you're -- " how to word it gently? "another... Hero of Light, aren't you?"
no subject
The moogle took to his introduction enthusiastically, floating out from behind Snow's shoulder and filling the gap between him and their new compatriot. Motley spun in place one time and then posed for her, as though it was his way of offering a greeting as opposed to a more traditional bow or handshake. It was a little cheesy and a little showy, but the faintest of smiles touched at Snow's lips regardless as he looked on.
"He's a little friendly, but," Snow said, "he's harmless."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, kupo!" Motley gushed, nodding his head in excitement.
"And, hey, don't let us embarrass you," Snow went on. He turned slightly to look up and over his shoulder at the fireworks that still lit up the sky behind him. "You never know. There might just be something magic about them after all. It wouldn't be the first time they've granted someone's wish."
no subject
"And I'm Momolumi!" he took the opportunity to introduce himself, raising a paw as high as he could and waving enthusiastically. He offered an extra "Kupo-po!" in greeting to the other of his kind.
"It's nice to meet you too, Motley," Yuna chuckled softly as Momo once again took to the air, floating only slightly behind her. "Yes," she agreed once again addressing Snow, "Friendly... and also very helpful, too."
But as he mentioned the magic and wishes that came with the fireworks, she couldn't help but feel her cheeks grow slightly warmer again. "I had never... heard of wishing on something like fireworks before. I thought maybe there wouldn't be any harm in trying at least..." she trailed off slightly, her gaze taking to the sky again. "Do you really -- know someone who's wish has come true from it?"
no subject
Snow took a few steps forward then to stand beside her and look up at the display from where she was standing. Grief and nostalgia weighed heavy in his chest, like a stone anchoring him down. How could he put this without getting too autobiographical or depressing...? The last thing he wanted to do was crush this girl's hopes.
"You can't just wish for money, for example," he said, "because that might just come to mean finding five gil on the sidewalk two weeks from now. I've gotten everything I've ever wished for, just... maybe not the way I wanted it."
no subject
Looking back up towards the sky again, it was a moment or two before she finally answered, though her tone was light, and a smile crept along the sides of her lips as she spoke. "You're right... it's sort of -- like being careful what you wish for, isn't it? But even more than that..." she paused, a hand coming up to her chest to rest there in a fist, "I think -- it might just be more important to go out and try to make those wishes come true ourselves, instead."
no subject
Yuna had the right of it, and Snow knew it. Sitting around and wishing and pining and hoping never got him anywhere. Even now, as he stared up at the sky, he wasn't sure what he would wish for these days, anyway. He used to wish for deliverance. For forgiveness. To see Serah again.
Snow used to wish for death.
Sure, things had turned out way better than he'd ever expected or even wished for them to, but nothing had changed for him until Lightning had gotten him up off his ass and moving. When he thought about it like that, maybe wishing was kind of pointless. The only problem with taking action, though, was the incredible tendency he had to make things worse every time he tried to make them better. He constantly felt like he was stuck between a rock and a hard place, in that regard. If only Lightning was here now, too, she would know what to do. She always knew what to do. That was why she had been Etro's Knight and Bhunivelze's Chosen, and Snow was just... well, just some schmuck.
"It won't be easy, though," he went on. "In a new world like this, you can never know what to expect. All the rules change, and some get thrown out the window completely."
He sighed and shook his head. Thoughts like that were counterproductive. He was being unfair to himself again, dwelling on the negatives. Blind optimism was no good either, but he found himself more often than not having difficulty in finding a nice balance between the two.
"I guess that's why there's so many of us," he concluded. "Heroes of Light, I mean. As long as we stick together, nothing's impossible, right?"
no subject
"But -- when I realized that there were others like me, taken from their home for some greater purpose... And when we all came together..." Eyes opened once more, a smile again taking its place on her lips. "I realized -- anywhere can feel like home, you know? Even if the rules are different... I'm sure that we can find a way to make everything right again. Or at the very least -- find a way to help."
Turning to face him fully, her arm drifted down again as she clasped her hands together and smiled widely, "Let's try our best... okay?"

Blitzballlllllll ... or bloodmobile, as spellcheck puts it.
He watched her move away, and then give the bow. Blinking a couple of times, he awkwardly reached to scratch the back of his head. The only people that had ever really bowed at him, had been the maids. It was a little weird to see a perfect stranger doing it, especially after all his time away from the manor. The apology was given a polite smile, followed by a shake of his head. Seriously, it was no big deal! The place was crowded, after all. As his moogle, Ion moved just a bit closer to check on the other of his kind.
Letting his hand drop to rest on his hip, he casually gestured his hand to the side with that smile intact, "Hey, don't worry about it. I wasn't really paying attention, either," he said, and then glanced up at the giant- spherical thing, "So, uh...Were you headed to check that out?"
Curiosity had been what caused Luke to come check the place out. It was apparently a place where people played a game called "blitzball". They would...swim under water and fight to gain possession of a..."blitzball"...? So, what- the game was named after the very thing they played with? Luke was eager to see how it worked, honestly. He was unable to swim; the idea of people being able to do that while playing a game?
Well, it was fascinating, for him...to say the very least.
that escalated quickly
"Yes, that's right!" the collision was all but forgotten at the mention of blitzball. "I thought that -- if they had blitzball here... maybe someone I know might be playing..." as Yuna said it aloud, the improbability of what she was hoping for really made itself known. There was very little chance she would know any of the players... There was little to no chance that Sir Jecht would be here, not after the condition she had last seen him in. And the otherm well...
"Do you know blitzball, Yuna?" her moogle chimed in excitedly, floating up to eye height between her and the redhead, apparently intent to join the conversation.
"Mm," the girl nodded, with a faint smile. "Blitzball -- is a sport where I come from. Actually," she turned once more to Luke, her head tilting to the side, "I was surprised to see a stadium here... Have you -- ever seen it played before?"
it really did and I was a little scared xD
Luke gave her an understanding smile. No matter how many worlds he visited, he still couldn't help but to allow his eyes to scan each area. Each new place, each new...building, he always let green eyes search for brown...or blond. His friends were highly missed, and he'd never stop hoping to come across them. No matter how much time grew between the current time, and the last time he saw them, he was never going to give up. Not...entirely...anyway.
Really, he couldn't deny a part of him...had given up, by the second world, after Auldrant. As much as it hurt to admit, it was true. When he felt his smile dimming, he quickly forced it back into its friendly nature. Nodding, he let out a faint chuckle.
"Well, it's...good you have something, from home, here. I'm sure that gives, at least, a little comfort. Right?" The question resulted in a brief shake of his head, however, "I'd never even heard of it, before here. That's why I was heading over there, though," he started, before glancing back over to the stadium, "Wanna...go with me?"
For one, he didn't want to go alone. Secondly, she seemed really nice, and he wouldn't mind hearing more about her world -- a place that held a thing like blitzball. He had to wonder...which world the game really came from. Was the game created, in the world they were currently on? Or...what...? Actually, never mind, that confusing thought was making his head hurt.

Yuna nodded, enthusiasm brightening her demeanor once more. "Ah -- I'd love to!" Then a slight pause -- "Um, I'm Yuna, by the way," she offered her name with a slight bow of the head. "I'm sorry, I probably should have introduced myself from the start..."
no subject
The last part had come out muttered, almost as though he was more so saying that to himself. When he noticed her deflating, his brow tensed. A faint look of frustration momentarily appeared. He hadn't meant to kill her mood, or...something.
"Hey, there's a good thing about there being something from home, you know. Because, now, you'll always have somewhere to come check out. If anybody from your world shows up, I'm sure that's the first place they'll go. So, your chances of seeing them, right off the bat, just went up...Right?" An encouraging smile came with his words.
To her agreeing to go with him, a soft grin appeared...then instantly became replaced by a sheepish look, "O-oh, right! Heh, no need to apologize!" He didn't...introduce himself, either, after all, "It's nice to meet you, Yuna. I'm Luke, and this..." he rested a hand on his moogle's head, "...is my newest friend, Ion." The moogle offered a shy smile, followed by a wave of his hand.
Turning towards the stadium, one hand resting on his hip, he gestured towards the destination with his head. Offering her one of his brighter smiles, he said, "Alright, let's go!"

"It's nice to meet you, Luke -- " Yuna bowed her head slightly, then turned towards the moogle, "and you too, Ion."
"Momolumi's here, too!" shot up her own fuzzy companion, spinning in place to announce himself.
Another nod came from Yuna, this time visibly brightening again, the prospect of blitzball filling her with happy memories. "Let's find some good seats, where we'll be able to see the whole game easily! Come on!" she gushed, gently pushing to weave her way through the crowds ahead. Zig-zagging forward she seemed to find a satisfactory pair in the stands, and moved quickly to claim the spot for the two of them, and plunked herself down on one. "The teams are just about to come out!"
I think the notif was eaten :c so sorry for the wait!
"It's nice to meet you, as well, Momolumi," he said to the moogle with a friendly grin.
Ion gave her a polite nod. He was content just watching the conversation, rather than taking any part in it. Remaining where he was, he lifted a paw in greeting to both her and Momolumi, "It's nice to meet you both, kupo."
His improved speed and agility really assisted him in making his way through the crowd. Glancing back to make sure he didn't get too far ahead of Yuna, he paused when he got to the places where people were sitting. Fortunately, it seemed Yuna had a really good eye for things like that. Once she found the seats, he plopped down next to her with a grin.
"Hey, good work! These seats are perfect," he started, and then glanced around to make sure the moogles had kept up with them.
Fortunately, Ion was flying up just then, and hovered next to his head. Luke gave a soft chuckle and nudged the small creature with his fist, before looking over to Yuna. After a short pause, he asked, "So, have you seen a lot of these games played?"

Clearing her throat, and realizing that she had taken to her feet, Yuna's cheeks flushed a little as she eased back down into the seat, still brimming with excitement for the event as a whole.
"But practices... aren't half as exciting as real games, in a real stadium like this," she smiled gently in Luke's direction, just as her moogle popped up from her opposite shoulder.
"Lots of people like blitzball!" he chimed, "Even here in Crystallis!"

blitzball
The sudden bump into her back caused her to lose her footing and stagger forward. Luckily Kupola flew from her arms and tried to steady her from falling forward.
Zelda turned to see the brown haired girl bowing in her direction. "It's alright." Zelda winced as the girls moogle came crashing forward. She moved to the pairs side, her own features filled with worry. "Are you okay?"

Whatever expression of worry that Yuna wore as she looked down at him dissipated into a quiet chuckle as he floated up to shoulder height again, wings batting gently with the effort.
"My apologies," she offered again, looking back towards Zelda, a little sheepishly. "I was just trying to get as close as I could to get a better view... I didn't expect so many people to be interested in blitzball in a place like this."

Kopula flew behind Zelda and hung on her left shoulder watching the conversation with interest.

Tilting her head to the side, Yuna considered for a moment. "Would you -- like to watch the game with us?"

"My name's Zelda, by the way."

"Come on," she encouraged, nodding towards the head of the crowd. "Let's see what sort of tickets we can get. And in the meantime... I can tell you all about blitzball!" The excitement lit up her eyes, as she took her place in line, beckoning towards the other girl to follow suit.

She wasn't sure how much time had passed but soon the crowd opened up and before them expanded a large arena with a sphere of water hanging in midair. Zelda's eyes went wide and she stopped to stare at the arena. "It's amazing." Her voice was just a whisper. She might have heard about the game but seeing it was something else entirely.

She took a quick scan of the area before she set off again. "It looks like there's some free over there! Let's go."
