Characters: Gathering for Newbie's to meet and Mingle
Where: Observatory
When: March 7th
Summary: Zelda is getting a party together for those who are new and old so that everyone can meet. She will also answer anyone's question.
Warning: None yet. Will monitor.


The Observatory looks like it was still being worked on from the outside. The building was old and the heroes have only had a few months to work on it. Stables were in the process of being built around the side and it looks as if you can see the whole city from its highest point.

Inside the main entrance was cleaned and made to feel comfortable with soft lighting and polished floors. The front desk has snacks and drinks on it while chairs line the walls. The designs are simple favoring functionality over gaudiness.

Johnny had approached to get something to eat, but stops when he sees someone shoveling food like their life depended upon it. He raises an eyebrow and slowly and slightly confused, asks, "So is there anything left for the rest of us? Or are you just gonna inhale alla that on your own."

"Uh." Logen grunts, and looks over, "The one chief with the knife ears said there'd be more to eat. I'll trust her on that."

He says, as he swills more wine.

[charming_jerk]

"'Knife ears'? Oh, Zelda? Yeah, alright... C'mon, I'm at least grabbing the booze before that's all gone."

Free booze and food was mostly the reason Johnny had shown up. Even if it was wine. He poured himself a glass, but would let this guy eat what he wanted. Maybe the people who were prisoners of the Empire didn't get much to eat.

"Hah. A realistic man. Good."

And then he notices the horns. "Or a goat man?" He cocks his head slightly, looking at Johnny, his scarred face taking on a curious aspect.

Johnny's used to this sort of stuff, but that doesn't mean it doesn't bug him. He wrinkles his nose in annoyance before taking a drink.

"Man is fine. I ain't a goat, or a satyr or...whatever."

[bloodynine]

"What's a satyr?"

Logen says, as he sloshes more wine down his throat.

"Doesn't matter. I ain't one."

Seriously. He gets tired of the "what are you" conversations right of the bat from strangers.

"Do people ask you about your scars the moment they walk up to ya?"

Two can play at this game.

"No. Because most people are scared of 'em."

Logen shrugs. "Horns aren't scary, they're just strange. Scars are scary because they mean I've been in fights and won, or at least lived."

[charming_jerk]

Johnny shrugs as well. "Eh, I got a lot more scars than I do horns. They're just harder to spot cuz they're not bright fuckin' blue."

[bloodynine]

"Uh." Logen sets his finished off bottle down and looks sadly at it.

"I"m Logen Ninefingers. Who are you?"

Johnny would be sure to pace himself with his own glass, since this guy might blow through what they had there. He looked at the hand of Logen's holding that wine bottle. "Ninefingers, huh. Pretty spot on there. I'm Johnny. Johnny D'Amico. One of the guys who's been here a few months now."

[bloodynine]

"In the North, you are named for deeds. I got named for what I did after I lost my finger during a charge in the Siege of Carleon."

He begins grabbing more food and stuffing it into his mouth.

"D'amico, eh? Sounds Styrian. I hear they get their names from their parents."

[charming_jerk]

Johnny will try to swipe some food for himself before it's all gone again. "Dunno what that is, but like, almost everyone does it that way where I'm from. If people got their last names from things they did where I'm from, there'd be a lot of goddamn unimpressive last names."

[bloodynine]

"Hah! I like you, Johnny D'amico. You can have a place around my fire any time."

He gives him a very hard slap on the back.

[charming_jerk]

Johnny handles that slap better than most probably would.

"Uh, thanks? Man, somethin' tells me you come from some place where all this Hero shit and battling is the norm."

[bloodynine]

"I come from the fucking North! We're the land of heroes, from Skarling Hoodless to... well, me."

He sighs. "But here's the thing about heroes. We're mostly just killers."
