Mostly Open--Lydia Settling in!
Characters: Lydia Deetz and OPEN mostly. (One part locked to
daisy023)
Where: Airship fleeing the Empire (Closed) and Aquares Ixen (Open)
Summary: Closed---Now that they're on the way to freedom, Lydia can let everything catch up to her, in true teenage crying fit fashion. Open---Lydia is around the town exploring and getting used to her new 'home'. Feel free to come say hi to the Perky Goth!
Warnings: Angst--not just teenage type? Sisterly-conversation? I don't THINK there'll be language... Mentions of the prison?
In a quieter, out of the way corner, on the airship. On the way FROM the Empire.
Safety. They were, hopefully, on their way to safety and out of prison. Even with short periods of rest, Lydia had kept herself moving and focused on what she could do to help. But all the adrenaline was wearing off, and what food she'd managed to get in her hadn't been nearly enough.
She was feeling it all start to hit her. The fear, the loneliness, the fatigue and worry and anxiety. All of it hitting her, and she didn't want to bother anyone. Not Mr. Kenshin; he'd been wonderful already, helping her with her plan for the notes and keeping her safe. Yuffie had been through too much. Lydia easily felt the closest to those two, even though she'd only known them such a short time.
That was ok--for all that she had a dramatic streak, Lydia wasn't sure she wanted anyone to see this. Slipping off, trying to find a quieter and out of the way corner. Once she did, Lydia curled herself up in her cloak. A deep breath in, slightly choked, and then sobs. Full sobs, torn from her, crying in a way that most teenage fits didn't produce as the situation she was in became fully realized.
Aquares Ixen--streets
Lydia had been kind of surprised to find they had school here. Even if it wasn't the most exciting thing, she didn't dislike school in general. Besides, school on Crystallis was bound to give her a better idea of what life was like here, right? So she could be a better hero.
She also wanted to redecorate her room. It was nice enough, just...bland. Not necessarily to her tastes. Lydia also wanted to find a journal at least, and maybe a sketch book and so many other little things to just help her feel more comfortable. She might also see if there were part time jobs available--she couldn't just leech of people, just because she was supposed to be a hero!
Wandering around the city, she'd gotten Betel-Po to draw her a basic map, and she was filling it in with the most important things right now. With all the walking, she was wishing she had her bicycle. She also really wanted her camera--oh the pictures she could take here!
Aquares Ixen--Library
The library was amazing! Truly, Lydia was impressed. The silence didn't bother her, and while she wasn't a book worm the way Prudence was, she definitely liked reading. Besides, this was a library on a whole other world! Who knew what she might find?
For now, Lydia just wandered through the stacks. Looking at anything that caught her eye, and enjoying the peace.

Library
She had collected a lot of books at her home, some bought and some borrowed from the library. Not having this one book wasn't going to hinder her research.
Re: Library
Library
Zelda laughed softly looking back at Lydia. She realized that she didn't really answer the question so she revised herself. "I've read about the weather here and the earth. What plants are in this area as well as the seasons. I've read about the history and the area's around here. All that was available anyway. I've read legends and made up tales as well as mysteries and romance. I've honestly spent a lot of time here." Which was obvious by her list of books.
Re: Library
A warm smile, as Lydia continued. "What do you like to read for fun?" That Zelda spent a lot of time in the library didn't bother or surprise Lydia.
Library
"I read romance books." She was still a teenager and despite her responsibilities day dreaming about romance was fun. Though she usually ended up skipping past the embarrassing parts of the books.
Zelda considered herself lucky that she had been able to tell Link how she felt and that he had returned those feelings. Still, it was fun to read about love and everything it could conquer. She hoped that their own story could end in a similar way, happily ever after.
Re: Library
Lydia preferred the other kind, where they were adventure-esque, and had heroes and love as part of the over all thing, rather than the focus. They were stories driven by characters, facing odds and working together. Bonus points if they were gothic romance.
Library
She smiled then willing the red from her cheeks. "I like the ones where people can create bonds though, working together and facing a fate that they don't know if they can overcome."
Re: Library
Library
Zelda glanced around the room for a moment before letting her eyes rest on Lydia. "Truthfully my favorite is a legend about a goddess searching for her true love."
Re: Library
Library
"I might skip through some parts but it started long ago...." Zelda reads the legend word for word. Her voice remaining steady even though the legend is rooted in her heart.
